Abstract

This Research and Development (R & D) aims to produce more innovative statistics teaching materials by integrating them into guided, valid, practical and effective guided learning models in accordance with the National Standards of Higher Education. In addition to improving the quality of student learning outcomes in the course of statistics at the Universitas Quality. Furthermore, to know the effectiveness of teaching materials statistics development results that have been applied at the University of Quality. The study population is all students of PGSD Universitas Quality academic year 2017/2018. Sampling technique by using Purposive Sampling, which is student of semester V that take course of statistics. This research method uses Research and Development (R & D) method that adapted and modified by Borg & Gall. The work steps in the study include: (1) preliminary study, 2) development of teaching materials, 3) implementation of instructional use, 4) product effectiveness test. Instrument used in this research is achievement test of learning result. Furthermore, to test the hypothesis used t-test. From the result of t test for student learning result obtained thit = 3.246 compared on ttab 2.015 (5% significance level), so it can be said that thit > ttab or 3,246> 2,015. Through these results it can be concluded that the use of teaching materials statistics can give effect to student learning outcomes. Through these results it can be concluded that instruction-based instructional materials guided inquiry effectively improve student learning outcomes PGSD at Universitas Quality.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif dengan menggunakan LMS Moodle untuk membantu meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif mahasiswa selama pembelajaran berbasis Blanded Learning. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Research and Development. Prosedur dalam penelitian adalah tahap identifikasi masalah, pengumpulan data, desain, validasi media, revisi media, validasi materi, revisi materi, uji coba siswa, revisi produk, dan produk akhir.  Berdasarkan hasil analisis dari angket kebutuhan mahasiswa yang dilakukan mendapatkan persentase sebesar 85,45% dalam kategori sangat membutuhkan media pembelajaran berbasis moodle  tujuannya agar pembelajaran lebih fleksibel, bisa dibuka/ diakses setiap saat, terhubung internet (online). Selain itu di dalamanya terdapat materi dan assignment, chatting, forum diskusi, dan detail disertai visualisasi. Dicantumkan juga kompetensi yang harus dikuasai dan tujuan pembelajaran, pengunggahan materi atau tugas di moodle dalam berbagai format, serta ada evaluasi dalam media pembelajaran serta pemberian umpan balik yang yang dapat memperlihatkan skor/nilai untuk mengukur kemampuan kognitif mahasiswa. Penilaian yang didapatkan dari ahli materi sebesar 95% dan ahli media sebesar 94% dalam kategori sangat valid yang berarti sangat layak untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Kemudian berdasarkan uji persepsi mahasiswa sebesar 93,23% dalam kategori sangat valid yang berarti sangat layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

This studied aims to analyze the differences between student learning outcomes taught by using the guided inquiry compared to the Direct Instruction learning models. This research is quasi-experimental. The study population was students of Quality University of Medan in semester V of the odd school year 2019/2020. The sampling technique was using cluster random sampling consisting of two classes with a total sample of 67 people. From the research results obtained, it can be concluded that there are differences in the Guided Inquiry learning model and the Direct Instruction model in improving the learning outcomes of student research methodologies. Where classes taught using the guided inquiry learning model have higher learning outcomes compared to classes taught using the direct learning model (Direct Instruction).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in students' physics learning outcomes who were taught using the Contextual Teaching and Learning model with the conventional learning model for class XI of SMA Swasta Advent 1 Medan. This type of research is an experimental research with a pretest-posttest group design. The population in this study were all students of SMA Advent 1 Medan. The sampling technique was carried out randomly (Cluster random sampling), namely class XI-1 as an experimental class taught using the Contextual Teaching and Learning model and class XI-2 as a control class taught using a conventional learning model. Each class consists of 32 people. The instrument of this research is a multiple choice test of 20 items with 5 choices, the instrument is first tested on students outside the sample to determine the validity, reliability, distinguishing power and level of difficulty of the questions. From the data analysis, the average pretest value for the experimental class was 45.78 with a standard deviation of 6.67 and the posttest average value was 85.15 with a standard deviation of 5.63, while in the control class, the pretest average value was 52.26 with a standard deviation of 12.32 and the posttest average value. 68.21 with a standard deviation of 7.12. Before testing the hypothesis, the normality and homogeneity of the data were first tested. From the results of the preliminary test, it was found that the two data came from a population that was normally distributed and homogeneous. The results of hypothesis testing using the t-test obtained tcount = 4.36 > ttable = 2.002 so that it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the use of Contextual Teaching and Learning models on student physics learning outcomes in class XI SMA Swasta Advent 1 Medan.

Abstract

Blanded Learning merupakan pembelajaran yang menggabungkan anatara pembelajaran online dengan face-to-face (tatap muka). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar dan tingkat aktivitas mahasiswa dengan diterapkanya blanded learning berbasis moodle di kelas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan pre-experimental kuantitatif desain one grup pre-test post-test. Instrumen yang digunakan ialah angket dan tes hasil belajar. Tahap penelitian ini yaitu (1) Persiapan dan perencanaan (2) Penelitian (3) Penyajian hasil penelitian. Teknik annalisis data statistik parametrik uji-t dengan taraf signifikansi 0.05. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Blended Learning mata kuliah Konsep Dasar IPA memberikan peningkatan terhadap hail belajar mahasiswa. Hasil belajar mahasiswa sebelum diterapkan blended learning berbasis moodle tergolong rendah yaitu 55.77. Hasil belajar mahasiswa setelah diterapkan blended learning berbasis moodle mengalami peningkatan yang baik yaitu 90.26. Hasil uji hipotesis disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa diterapkan blended learning berbasis moodle pada mata kuliah konsep dasar IPA dengan peningkatan sebesar 5.325 yang tergolong tinggi.

Abstract

Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat memfasilitasi siswa dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berfikir secara optimal, memperhatikan latar belakang kemampuan pemecahan masalah dengan strategi konflik kognitif dalam perubahan konseptual adalah model pembelajaran (Predict-Observe-Explain) POE. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya perbedaan hasil belajar konsep dasar IPA mahasiswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran POE dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan rancangan nonequivalen post-test only control group design. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan diuraikan simpulan sebagai berikut. Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar konsep dasar IPA antara kelompok siswa yang belajar dengan model POE dan model pembelajaran konvensional (F=28,177; p<0,05). Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar konsep dasar IPA antara siswa yang memiliki gaya belajar visual, gaya belajar auditori dan gaya belajar kinestetika (F=11,573; p<0,05). Terdapat pengaruh interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan gaya belajar terhadap hasil belajar konsep dasar IPA dan sikap ilmiah siswa (F=11,000;p<0,05). Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar konsep dasar IPA antara kelompok siswa yang belajar dengan model POE dan model pembelajaran konvensional untuk siswa yang memiliki gaya belajar visual (F=23,912; p<0,05). Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar konsep dasar IPA antara kelompok siswa yang belajar dengan model POE dan model pembelajaran konvensional untuk siswa yang memiliki gaya belajar auditori (F=0,452; p<0,05). Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar konsep dasar IPA antara kelompok siswa yang belajar dengan model POE dan model pembelajaran konvensional untuk siswa yang memiliki gaya belajar kinestetika (F=25,991; p<0,05). Hal ini menyatakan bahwa model pembelajaran POE dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar konsep dasar IPA pada siswa.

Abstract

Percut Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency is an area with the largest number of people belonging to Very Poor Households (RTSM), namely approximately 1,000 families when compared to other villages in Deli Serdang Regency. From these families, approximately 950 school-age children who have dropped out of school have not even entered formal education. The purpose of Community Service (PKM) is to be able to build a system that can help children from Very Poor Households (RTSM) to get/obtain a minimum education up to high school graduation as well as a view of the importance of health for children and families, because education and Health is a child's capital to achieve a better future. The methods used were (1) providing training and outreach to RTSM mothers, local government and also school-age children about the importance of education and health, (2) providing socialization on how to get free education (scholarships) and government assistance, (3) providing assistance in obtaining educational and health opportunities and information, educational funding assistance, learning process assistance in the form of tutoring and provision of tutoring books up to children graduating from high school, (4) Organizing RTSM mothers and study groups for routine and programmed implementation, thereby building a sustainable system.

Abstract

The aim of this activity is to foster participants' interest and attraction in learning Mathematics by using interactive media properly and correctly. Assistance is carried out by a service team consisting of 3 lecturers and 2 PGSD Study Program students. Children who are provided with assistance include kindergarten, elementary, middle school children. This PKM activity was carried out at the Sinar Abadi, Karya Ramlan, dan Cinta Kasih Nurani Orphanage, Medan City, North Sumatra. Data collection used in this activity is: (1) performance test questions to measure mastery of mathematics. Participants take tests individually and are given at the end of the learning material. and (2) field notes, carried out by documenting the learning process and photos of activities during the teaching and learning process both before and during the action. The output targets to be achieved from this activity are increasing the knowledge of partners/heads of orphanages in educating children in orphanages and publication of scientific articles in community service journals
