Abstract

Abstract:  Wet noodles (chicken noodles) are fast food that are low in nutritional content due to their high carbohydrate content and low omega-3 fatty acids. The use of tuna fish is a new innovation for the processing of noodles with high nutritional value because tuna contains nutrients such as vitamin A, vitamin B, omega-3 fatty acids, sodium and phosphorus. The purpose of this activity is to create independent business opportunities through the production of tuna fish noodles that are healthy and have high nutritional value. The method used is direct practice of making tuna fish noodles and analyzing the business feasibility. The stages of this activity include product manufacture, packaging and marketing to consumers. Evaluation activities are carried out based on suggestions from consumers and analysis of the results of the benefits obtained. This tuna fish noodle product is sold for Rp. 10,000 at the time of the promo and Rp. 12,000, - on weekdays. The marketing process is carried out through social media, namely Instagram and WhatsApp. This tuna fish noodle business must be able to sell 8 portions to be able to break even (BEP). The results of the cash flow calculation show that this tuna fish noodle business is feasible to compete in the market because the sales results for one month can exceed the BEP, which can produce 50 servings of tuna fish noodles for one month of sales.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ecological utilization of mangroves, examine the socio-economic aspects of the local community, and assess the relationship between these uses, conservation efforts, and the educational potential of the area. The urgency of the research lies in the need to integrate ecological utilization, socio-economic sustainability, and the application of a Sustainable Circular Economy, while simultaneously strengthening the role of mangrove ecotourism areas as sources of contextual science learning. The research employed a descriptive approach with data collected through structured in-depth interviews and questionnaires administered to 10 respondents. Data were analyzed using a mixed method, consisting of qualitative descriptive analysis for interview results and quantitative descriptive analysis for questionnaire data. The findings indicate that mangrove utilization is mainly limited to the collection of dead wood due to local regulations, while the exploitation of fauna (mollusks, crabs, and fish) is more dominant as a source of income. Community participation in conservation is relatively high, but knowledge regarding the medicinal benefits of mangroves remains low. These results highlight the need to strengthen sustainable, circular-economy-based utilization and to optimize the area as a source of contextual science learning.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills and science process skills are essential competencies in 21st-century science learning. However, learning in schools is still dominated by a teacher-centered approach, thus not providing optimal opportunities for students to engage in scientific investigation activities. This study aims to analyze and synthesize research results related to the application of Inquiry-Based Learning assisted by virtual laboratories in improving students' critical thinking skills and science process skills. The method used is a literature review by analyzing 15 scientific articles from relevant national and international journals from 2015–2024 through the stages of data collection, selection, grouping, and synthesis. The results of the synthesis indicate that Inquiry-Based Learning consistently improves critical thinking skills through activities such as formulating problems, proposing hypotheses, conducting experiments, and drawing conclusions. In addition, virtual laboratories play an effective role in facilitating interactive experiments, improving conceptual understanding, and overcoming the limitations of practical facilities in schools. Overall, the integration of Inquiry-Based Learning and virtual laboratories results in more active, contextual, and student-centered learning, and is able to optimally improve higher-order thinking skills and science process skills.
