Abstract

Speech delay to children in recent years has always increased, the prevalence of speech disorders varies in numbers from 1 to 32% in the normal population. In social life will also be very influential, the child will always feel alone without being able to voice what is desired, and always not understood by others if he wants something with wrong language. This study aims to get the influence was maternal education, maternal employment status and family factor of speech delay  to children aged 48-72 months. Quantitative research with cross sectional design in samples of pre school children, the results with P value 0.582 for parent education variables, P value 0,245 for the variable work status of the mother, and P value 0.853for  the family history variable. All variables in this study that there was no influence between these variables with the delay in talking to children aged 48-72 months. actually, the development of speaking, speaking of children has begun to be stimulated since the baby, but the form of communication is different from each stage, and if the child is test earlier about their language it will prevent the child from late language development disorders, especially in normal children without history certain diseases from the womb and at birth.

Abstract

Health reproductive become an attractive issue among adolescent, but not all of them have the right access of information because of different condition, such as an orphans, who live under foster parents and have limited access on health information. It needs an activity that can increase their capacity to overcome the fluctuation of adolescent world, especially to take control over their reproductive health. This research is a pre experimental with 40 participants of adolescent aged 12-18 years old, conducted in orphanage in Samarinda City. The interventions include play snake and ladder, flash card and role play. Data were collected by validated questionnaire to measure knowledge and attitude, then analyzed by paired t test. Results show that there is significant influence of snake and ladder and flash card toward knowledge (p=0.017; r = 0,724; CI 95% = 0,115-1,084; SD = 1,515) and also significant influence of role play toward (p =0,049; r = 0,604; CI 95% = 0,003-1,097; SD = 1,709). It is hoped that orphanage can facilitate their foster child with interactive media to increase their capacity of life, especially reproductive health.Keywords: Snake and ladder, Flash Card, Role Play, knowledge, attitude
