Abstract

Abstract:  In improving student learning outcomes, it is necessary to support the use of software technology in the learning process. Some of the software used in mathematics learning are Maple and GeoGebra. The purpose of this study is to reanalyze the results of research on the comparison of student learning outcome levels in Indonesia using Maple and GeoGebra-based software learning media. The method used in this study is meta-analysis. Data is obtained from indexing databases such as Scopus, DOAJ, WorlCat and Google Scholar. Then screening data on the results of the study contained fisher test scores (F), student test (t), correlation test (r), and number of learners (N). The results of data analysis using JASP software as many as 32 data showed that there was a significant influence in improving the learning outcomes of learners using (1) Maple by 66%, medium category and (2) GeoGebra by 61% with moderate as well. The comparison of the two programs can be seen that the use of Maple has more effect on student learning outcomes compared to using GeoGebra.Abstrak: Dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, maka perlu didukung penggunaan teknologi software pada proses pembelajaran. Beberapa software yang di gunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika adalah Maple dan GeoGebra. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kembali hasil-hasil penelitian pada perbandingan tingkat hasil belajar siswa di Indonesia yang menggunakan media pembelajaran software berbasis Maple dan GeoGebra. Metode yang di gunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Meta-analisis. Data di dapatkan dari database pengindeks seperti Scopus, DOAJ, WorCat dan Google Scholar. Kemudian dilakukan penyaringan data pada hasil penelitian yang memuat nilai uji fisher (F), uji student (t), uji korelasi (r), dan jumlah peserta didik (N). Hasil analisis data menggunakan software JASP sebanyak 32 data menunjukkan  terdapat pengaruh yang signifikasi dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik  menggunakan (1) Maple sebesar 66%, kategori sedang dan (2)  GeoGebra sebesar 61% dengan sedang juga. Perbandingan dari kedua program tersebut dapat terlihat bahwa penggunaan Maple lebih berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa dibandingkan dengan menggunakan GeoGebra

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa ditinjau dari gaya belajar. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di MTs. Islam Selaparang Putra Kediri Lombok Barat. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 6 orang siswa dari 26 orang siswa di kelas VIII A, 2 subjek visual, 2 subjek auditorial, dan 2 subjek kinestetik. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu angket gaya belajar, tes pemecahan masalah matematika, dan pedoman wawancara. Data diperoleh dianalisis dengan cara mereduksi data, menyajikan data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Pengecekan keabsahan data menggunakan metode tringulasi. Pemecahan masalah matematika dianalisis berdasarkan empat indikator menurut langkah polya yaitu (1) memahami masalah, (2) merencanakan pemecahan, (3) menyelesaiakan masalah, (4) mengecek kembali. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa; (1) subjek visual dapat memahami masalah dengan membaca soal di dalam hati, dapat melakukan perencanaan pemecahan yang tepat, dapat melakukan penyelesaian masalah akan tetapi langkah penyelesaian kurang tepat, dan dapat melakukan pengecekan kembali.(2) subjek auditorial dapat memahami masalah dengan membaca sedikit keras, tidak bisa merencanakan pemecahan masalah, tidak menyelesaikan soal dengan tepat, tidak melakukan pengecekan kembali. (3) subjek kinestetik juga dapat memamahi masalah dengan sesekali memukul meja, dapat menuliskan perencanaan masalah, dapat menyelesaikan masalah langkahnya kurang tepat, dan tidak melakukan pengecekan kembali. Abstract: This study aims to describe students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in terms of learning styles. This research is a qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive approach. This research was conducted at MTs. Islam Selaparang Putra Kediri, West Lombok. The subjects in this study were 6 students from 26 students in class VIII A, 2 visual subjects, 2 auditory subjects, and 2 kinesthetic subjects. The instruments used were learning style questionnaires, math problem solving tests, and interview guides. The data obtained were analyzed by reducing the data, presenting the data, and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the data using the tringulation method. Mathematical problem solving is analyzed based on four indicators according to pattern steps, namely (1) understanding the problem, (2) planning solutions, (3) solving problems, (4) checking again. The results showed (1) the visual subject can understand the problem by reading the problem silently, can plan the right solution, can solve the problem but the settlement steps are not right, and can check again. (2) the auditorial subject can understand the problem by reading a little aloud, not being able to plan problem solving, not solving problems properly, not checking again. (3) the kinesthetic subject can also understand the problem by occasionally hitting the table, can write down the problem plan, can solve the problem with inappropriate steps, and does not check again.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the number of sense capabilities of students MTs. Islam Selaparang Putra on integer operations are reviewed from cognitive style. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The subject of this study was 4 people, 2 field-dependent subjects and 2 field-independent subjects. The instruments used are group embedded figures test, number sense test sheets, and interview guidelines. Data analysis techniques are done by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data is using the triangulation method. The number sense capability is analyzed based on the number sense indicator which is (1) understand the value and symbol numbers, (2) understand the relationship between numbers, (3) understand the decimal number system, (4) understand the meaning of number operations, (5) understand the relationship between number operations, (6) Perform calculations correctly, (7) have a wide range of settlement strategies, (8) have the ability to estimate the value of a calculation. The result of this research is the subject of field-dependent less using the number of his sense in answering questions and only meet one indicator. While the subject of field-independent uses the number of his sense to answer the problem and fulfill two indicators.

Abstract

Abstrak: Peramalan adalah salah satu unsur yang sangat penting dalam pengambilan keputusan. Salah satu metode yang digunakan dalam peramalan adalah Metode Wavelet merupakan komponen yang frekuensi yang berbeda atau alat analisis yang biasa digunakan untuk menyajikan data. Tujuan dalam meta-analysis ini untuk menganalisis kembali hasil-hasil penelitian yang berkaitan dengan peramalan menggunakan metode Wavelet. Datanya dikumpulkan melalui database pengindeks seperti Scopus, DOAJ, Worldcat dan Google Scholar. Data yang difilter adalah hasil penelitian yang memuat nilai dari jumlah data (N), uji korelasi (r) dan klasifikasi, kemudian yang dianalisis menggunakan meta-analysis melalui effect size dan standar error untuk melihat summary effect size. Hasil analisis data menggunakan software JASP menunjukkan bahwa nilai estimate pada tingkat akurasi peramalan menggunakan metode Wavelet sebesar 0.827 yang termasuk kategori tinggi, Kemudian diperoleh nilai estimate dari metode modifikasi sebesar 0.828 dan nilai p-Rank-testnya 0.591, sedangkan non-modifikasi nilai estimatenya adalah 0.831 dan nilai p-Rank-testnya 0.76. Abstract: Forecasting is one of the most important elements in decision making. One of the methods used in forecasting is the Wavelet Method is a component of which is a different frequency or analysis tool commonly used to present data. The purpose of this meta-analysis is to reanalyze the results of research related to forecasting using the Wavelet method. Its data is collected through indexer databases such as Scopus, DOAJ, Worldcat and Google Scholar. Filtered data is the result of research that contains values from the amount of data (N), correlation test (r) and classification, then analyzed using meta-analysis through effect size and error standards to see summary effect size. The results of data analysis using JASP software showed that the estimate value at the forecasting accuracy rate using the Wavelet method was 0.827 which belonged to the high category, then obtained the estimate value of the modification method of 0.828 and the p-Rank-test value was 0.591, while the non-modification of the estimate value was 0.831 and the p-Rank-test value was 0.76.

Abstract

[English]: This article aims to critically review researches on characters and values in mathematics teaching and learning. Data for the review was the research articles authored by Indonesian mathematics education researchers and published in the online peer-review journals. The articles were searched in national scientific databases, DOAJ, and Google Scholar. The searches resulted in forty articles which aim to develop students' character and values through mathematics lesson. Five steps, i.e., text interpretation, coding, analysis, discussion, and reconsideration, are employed to analyze the articles qualitatively. The review reveals the articles lack of theoretical basis in the conceptualization of character/values, the development of character/values, and their measurement. Twenty-six articles on character did not define the notion clearly; meanwhile, the other articles only cite some definitions, but no operational definition was made. Character is a multifaceted construct which requires an operational definition to measure its development. In developing character and values, various strategies were utilized, but the most authors have not addressed theoretical analysis and rationale on their feasibility and relations the conceptualization of the notions. All articles did not provide any explanation on whether the instruments used were developed with respect to the nature of character or values development and fulfill psychometric properties. In this case, we argue that the researches were unfocused and not extensive. In this article, related theories and prior works are thoroughly discussed to shed light on the researching topics. Further research which relates to character education program in Indonesia is also elaborated. Keywords: Review, Character, Values, Mathematic teaching [Bahasa]: Artikel ini bertujuan mengulas secara kritis penelitian terkait karakter dan nilai dalam pembelajaran matematika. Data untuk ulasan merupakan artikel hasil penelitian yang ditulis oleh peneliti pendidikan matematika Indonesia dan diterbitkan di jurnal daring yang sudah melalui ulasan sejawat. Artikel dicari melalui basis data ilmiah nasional, DOAJ, dan Google Scholar. Pencarian menghasilkan 40 artikel yang bertujuan membangun karakter dan nilai siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika. Artikel dianalisis secara kualitatif melalui lima langkah yaitu interpretasi teks, penyusunan kode, analisis, diskusi, dan pertimbangan kembali. Ulasan menunjukkan bahwa artikel tersebut memiliki kekurangan dasar teoritis dalam konseptualisasi karakter/nilai, pengembangan karakter/nilai, dan aspek pengukuran. Dua puluh enam artikel yang membahas karakter tidak mendefinisikan istilah tersebut dengan jelas, sedangkan artikel yang lain hanya mengutip beberapa definisi tetapi tidak membuat definisi operasional. Karakter memiliki makna yang bervariasi sehingga membutuhkan definisi operasional untuk mengukur perkembangan pada diri siswa. Dalam mengembangkan karakter dan nilai, beragam strategi digunakan tetapi kebanyakan penulis tidak menjelaskan analisis teoritis and rasionalisasi kenapa strategi tersebut dapat digunakan dan berkaitan dengan konseptualisasi karakter/nilai. Semua artikel tidak memberikan penjelasan apakah instrumen yang dikembangkan sesuai dengan karakteristik perkembangan karakter atau nilai dan memenuhi kriteria psikometri. Dalam hal ini, penelitian terkait karakter/nilai tersebut belum fokus dan berskala kecil. Dalam artikel ini, beberapa teori yang relevan dan hasil penelitian sebelumnya dijelaskan secara mendalam untuk memberikan arah penelitian topik tersebut. Penelitian lebih lanjut yang berkaitan dengan program pendidikan karakter di Indonesia juga dibahas. Kata kunci: Analisis, Karakter, Nilai, Pembelajaran Matematika

Abstract

This study aims to describe non-routine mathematics problem solving in relation to students' self-efficacy and math anxiety. We collect data from journal databases both national and international. The eligibility criteria are used with the keyword "non-routine mathematical problem solving" with intervals of the last 10 years. Based on the results of the synthesis, it was found that several important variables related to the topic were self-efficacy, reading comprehension, mathematic attitudes, think-aloud processes, mathematics anxiety, and truth-seeking. From these variables it was found that self-efficacy (self-confidence) and mathematics anxiety (anxiety mathematics) have an important role in solving non-routine mathematics problems

Abstract

Functional thinking (FT) is a part of algebraic thinking. Several studies revealed that algebraic thinking is influenced by learning style, and few studies showed FT viewed from learning style. This study aims to describe students’ FT views from Kolb's learning style in solving linear and non-linear pattern tasks. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. It involved thirty-one students in 8th grade at an Islamic State junior high school in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Four students were selected as research subjects for analysis of answers and interviews. The Kolb learning style inventory (KLSI) collected research data, tests, and interviews.  The instrument consisted of KLSI and FT tests. Data was analyzed by reduction, presenting, and verifying. The finding showed that students with convergent, divergent, and accommodator learning styles can consist of near, far, and formal generalizations and determining inverse in FT. They represented the generalization of the relationship of two quantities symbolically. Meanwhile, students with an assimilator learning style can in FT consisting of near and far generalizations in solving figural and non-figural linear pattern tasks. They can perform formal generalizations and determine inverse-solving figural and non-figural linear pattern tasks. They are also unable to solve figural non-linear pattern tasks.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze problem solving abilities in terms of students' mathematical disposition in class VIII mathematics subjects at Darul Hikmah Karang Genteng Middle School, Pagutan. This type of research is qualitative with descriptive methods. The research subjects were 18 class VIII students. Data on problem solving abilities was collected through interviews with 2 students with a high mathematical disposition, 2 students with a medium mathematical disposition and 2 students with a low mathematical disposition. The result is the mathematical disposition of class VIII students at Darul Hikmah Middle School is divided into three categories, namely high, medium and low. Students with a high mathematical disposition have high problem solving abilities because they are able to fulfill the four indicators of problem solving according to Polya's theory, namely, understanding the problem, planning a solution, resolving the problem and checking again. Students with a moderate mathematical disposition have moderate problem solving abilities because they fulfill the three indicators of problem solving according to Polya's theory, namely, understanding the problem, solving the problem and checking again. And students with a low mathematical disposition have low problem solving abilities because they only fulfill two indicators of problem solving according to Polya's theory
