Abstract

Every company tries to find ways to maintain its market position in an increasingly competitive business environment. In order to be successful, companies need to achieve their objectives and goals to make their vision a reality while adhering to their mission. Company claims report in the few years still hasn’t solved yet. Such complaints are significant because customersatisfaction can only be improved if the root causes of the problem is clearly identified. In the plastic industry that produces parts for the automotive industry, a systematic method named 8D is used to analyze product conformity to specifications. The 8D method consists of nine disciplines problem-solving. The original purpose of 8D method was to eliminate the defect causing the problem, thus restoring customer satisfaction and level up the quality level of the company. This research established the suitability of the 8D for complaint settlement. 8D involves teamwork to solve the problem and using a 9-step structural approach. This case study resulted that the 8D is effective. The total customer claims at the end of last year until this year in Dec 2020 totaled zero (0) and process rejection for incorrect dimensions were reduced from 0.07 % to 0.01%.

Abstract

Penjaminan mutu dalam industri sangat penting dan menjadi perhatian utama untuk kelangsungan bisnisnya. Perusahaan dituntut untuk melakukan efisiensi di segala bidang dengan meningkatkan kualitas tenaga kerja dan produk yang dihasilkan dan hal tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan penerapan sistem manajemen mutu ISO 9001:2015. Salah satu perubahan signifikan dalam ISO 9001:2015 adalah peningkatan fokus pemikiran berbasis risiko dalam persyaratan perencanaan, peninjauan dan peningkatan sistem manajemen mutu (SMM) dan prosesnya. Hal ini dianggap sebagai tantangan yang signifikan untuk manajemen yang berusaha untuk mengimplementasikan risk based thinking yang berkaitan dengan SMM organisasi. Tujuan penelitian ini, menerapkan risk based thinking dengan pendekatan proses dalam mengidentifikasi potensi risiko, dampak dan tindakan pengendalian yang diperlukan terutama di departemen produksi. Metode yang digunakan pengumpulan data kualitatif dari berbagai sumber, seperti literatur. Data dikumpulkan dari hasil wawancara, diskusi dengan semua elemen organisasi dan langkah-langkahnya dalam menentukan tiap risiko di departemen produksi. Hasil diskusi akan dibandingkan dengan standar dan literatur yang ada. Unsur yang mendasari untuk melakukan risk based thinking diidentifikasi sebagai; proses/kegiatan organisasi, organisasi, budaya, kompetensi, manajemen, dan pihak yang berkepentingan. Hasil identifikasi risiko di departemen produksi terdapat 7 risiko dengan 1 risiko tingkat tinggi dan tidak dapat diterima (not acceptance). Rekomendasi perbaikan yang dilakukan adalah mengganti dies yang telah aus pada mesin injection moulding sehingga permasalahan tersebut dapat diselesaikan. Analisa risiko yang telah dibuat, disarankan untuk diperbaharui secara berkala minimal setahun sekali. Sedangkan rencana rekomendasi perbaikan yang dinilai berhasil dapat dilanjutkan dan dikembangkan, namun bila dinilai tidak berhasil disarankan untuk mencari rencana rekomendasi perbaikan yang lainnya.

Abstract

The red velvet that many people like is a pastry food that is usually found in restaurants and cafes. Red Velvet, which usually uses red food coloring, in this study replaced it with red beet and spinach coloring. Beets, which have high nutrition, are very useful and suitable to be processed into natural dyes in the home industry that are easy to process. One of the products to apply it is Red Velvet cake. Red Velvet cake basically uses a mixture of food coloring. This research tries to replace red food coloring by utilizing beet and red spinach which are very good for the body. This study aims to provide a new alternative to natural dyes in the making of Red Velvet cake. Experimental research was carried out by conducting systematic and planned experiments and tests on Red Velvet cake and collecting primary and secondary data as well. All data were presented descriptively with SPSS. From the mean results, it can be concluded that the Red Velvet Cake using red beet and red spinach dye is acceptable to the public.

Abstract

In general, today's small industries, there are still many cracker entrepreneurs who use the manual method, that is, they still need human power as a source of propulsion, as well as when draining oil is still done manually. As is the case with the object of this study, namely the colorful cracker business in Rungkut, where the oil drainer for cracker production still uses the conventional method, namely draining it for a while naturally by placing it in a container made of strimin wire. This is what causes the draining of the oil on the crackers to be not optimal, where the oil should be used 2 to 3 times for frying, but what happens is not optimal and a lot is wasted. As well as the quality of the crackers that are not optimal, for example, the crackers go rancid quickly and the draining process is relatively long. Oil Drainer Machine is a machine that works by rotating force on the filter tube which results in residual oil found on the surface of the crackers which after frying separate from the crackers. In fulfilling the working mechanism of the oil slicer machine transmission system, the design method designed is the shaft, pulley, and v-belt sections in order to produce optimal and efficient productivity. From the design results, the results obtained from the calculation of the shaft diameter are 8.15mm and the diameter used is 25mm. The results of this machine pulley calculation use pulleys with a size of 4 inches on the motor shaft and 8 inches on the drive shaft and the circumference of the v-belt is 1,108.62mm. The results of the test resulted in a more optimal filtering as desired, a fast draining process, the crackers were not broken, and the results of the crackers were more evenly distributed.

Abstract

Proses pembelajaran dan pengenalan budaya kerja industri di sekolah tentunya harus dimulai dari guru, karena peran guru dalam proses pendidikan sangatlah strategis untuk menyiapkan lulusan yang siap pakai. Guru merupakan ujung tombak implementasi budaya kerja industri melalui pembelajaran yang direncanakan diawal. Dukungan terhadap guru untuk memperkaya proses pembelajaran dan implementasi budaya kerja industri sangat perlu dilakukan baik oleh dunia industri, praktisi industri maupun perguruan tinggi. Dari permasalahan yang ada saat ini maka kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengadakan pelatihan berbasis budaya kerja industri sehingga guru di SMKS Agung Mulia Socah Bangkalan dapat lebih memahami budaya kerja industri dalam mengevaluasi penanaman budaya kerja industri kepada guru. Metode yang diterapkan adalah dengan pelatihan dan bimbingan praktisi industri terkait pengetahuan terhadap sikap, pengetahuan dan ketrampilan industri. Dengan kegiatan PkM tentang strategi implementasi budaya kerja industri dengan metode 5R, Kaizen, dan  pengetahuan soft sklill industri akan meningkat pemahaman dan keterampilan guru-guru SMKS Agung Mulia Socah Bangkalan sehingga mendukung perannya dalam menyiapkan lulusan yang siap bekerja. Hasil menunjukan bahwa materi yang diberikan kepada peserta pelatihan berjalan baik dan sukses dengan peningkatan pemahaman yang didapatkan sangat signifikan yaitu rata-rat 50% dari ketiga tema materi yang diberikan.
