Abstract

Penelitian terbaru menunjukkan peningkatan kejadian kelainan kongenital pada sistem urogenital yang menduduki urutan terbanyak kedua dalam suatu populasi. Penyebabnya bersifat multifaktorial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik penderita kelainan kongenital pada sistem urogenital. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah rekam medik dari pasien kelainan kongenital pada sistem urogenital.Distribusi karakteristik pasien terbanyak adalah kelompok usia 6-11 tahun (36%), laki-laki (90%), berat badan lahir normal (81%), usia gestasi normal (84%) dan tanpa riwayat keluarga dengan kelainan kongenital (99%). Distribusi karakteristik ibu terbanyak adalah usia hamil 25-35 tahun (50%), paritas 0 (54%), indeks massa tubuh pra-hamil normal (72%), tanpa riwayat consanguinity (100%), tidak ada riwayat penyakit sebelum dan atau selama kehamilan (95%), riwayat paparan rokok (98%), dan pekerjaan sebagai ibu rumah tangga (57%). Distribusi karakteristik ayah terbanyak adalah riwayat terpapar rokok (100%) dan pekerjaan petani (29%). Karakteristik pasien terbanyak meliputi: usia pasien saat operasi adalah 6-11 tahun, laki-laki, berat badan lahir normal, usia gestasi normal dan tidak ada riwayat keluarga. Karakteristik ibu terbanyak meliputi: usia ibu hamil 25-35 tahun, nulipara, indeks massa tubuh pra-hamil normal, tidak ada riwayat consanguinity, tidak menderita penyakit sebelum dan atau selama kehamilan, terpapar rokok dan bekerja sebagai ibu rumah tangga. Karakteristik ayah terbanyak meliputi: pernah terpapar rokok dan bekerja sebagai petani.

Abstract

Background Male participation in KB is still relatively low when compared to the participationof women. Researchers have to do research to find the contraception drug. Temu putih (Curcuma Zedoaria (Berg) Roscoe) is one of traditional herb that used as antifertility. Aim of Study Aim of this study to examine change in the amount, motility, morphology, and viability spermatozoa male rats (rattus norvegicus) due to temu putih fraction suplementation. Methods This study was an experimental study using a completely randomized design (CRD), post test with control group design. The sample in this study was 30 male rats, 10 weeks old, weight 150-200 gram. Rats were given temu putih fraction (n hexan, etylacetate and methanol-water) at dose of 300 mg/kgBB/day for 48 days. Temu putih was extracted by ethanol and did fractionation by liquid-liquid methods. The results of this study were assayed by SPSS 18. Results The amount, motility, morphology and viability of spermatozoa in the group of metanol fraction of water decreased compared with the control group (p= 0,000), motilitas of spermatozoa in the group of metanol water fraction decreased compared with the control group. Conclusion Temu putih fraction can reduce the amount, motility, morphology, and viability of spermatozoa in male rats. Abstract

Background: STX1A consists of 10 exons covering a genome overlay of 20.42 kb (2064 base mRNA) . The location of HPC-1 / Syntaxin 1A is on chromosome 7q11.23. Genes STX1A or HPC-1 or Syntaxin 1A are genes that encode membrane proteins that play an important role in neurotransmitter exocytosis in nerve cells. Aim of Study: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship SNP (rs867500) in the gene STX1A Exon 10 with level intellect. Method: This research was observational analytic with cross sectional study design with a population of 368 and a sample of 36 were divided into two groups, namely the above-average IQ and IQ group average. To determine the relationship SNP (rs867500) STX1A gene Exon 10 with a level of intelligence used X2 test (Chi-square). Results: The results showed not found SNPs in genes STX1A exon 10. Conclusion : STX1A Genes can be said to contribute to the collective intelligence of other genes, ie genes and gene IGFR2 FNBPL1 although there is no STX1A gene polymorphism in exon 10. Abstract

Breast cancer is one of the biggest causes of death in women in the world. Lime parasite (Dendrophtoe pentandra (L.) Miq.), a folk remedy used by Indonesian people, is believed to be efficacious as anticancer drug. This research aims to know the activity of n-hexane fractions of lime parasite in inhibiting the proliferation and apoptosis of T47D cells in vitro. Cytotoxic test with MTT method assay from n-hexane fractions used a multilevel concentration. Antiproliferative test was carried out by the method of MTT assay and cell doubling time was calculated at the time of duplication. Apoptotic test was done with concentration of 1 IC50and ½ IC50which was analyzed by flow cytometry. The results reveals that fractions of lime parasite have cytotoxic activity with concentration of IC50is included in moderatecytotoxic level. The result of the doubling time of the optimum fraction of n-hexane is in 31 hours with the concentration of ¼IC50. Results for the flow cytometry shows the fraction of n-hexane does not induce apoptosis in cells of T47D.  Those results show that the active fraction of lime parasite has cytotoxic activity which is able to inhibit proliferation, but does not induce apoptosis of T47D cell.

Abstract

Cervical cancer ranks second of cancer that affects women in the world and the first order for women in developing countries. Plant Salung (Psychotria viridiflora Reinw. Ex. Blume) have been used for generations to treat various diseases. The purpose of the study to determine the effects of leaf extracts and fractions salung as the anti-proliferation and inducer of apoptosis in HeLa cervical cancer cells. Concentration of extracts and fractions of 640; 320; 160; 80; 40 µg/mL, while cisplatin using a concentration of 200; 100; 50; 25 µg/mL. The results showed IC50 extract value 380.7 µg/mL. n-hexane fraction amounted to 229.3 µg/mL. ethyl acetate fraction of 116.8 µg/mL, and amounted to 562.8 µg/mL fraksi methanol water, so that the ethyl acetate fraction had enough categories active cytotoxic activity seen from the IC50. To further test the researchers only tested the active fraction is the fraction of ethyl acetate. Results ethyl acetate fraction doubling time is 58, which means replicating or proliferating cells on hour to 58 while the cells replicate cisplatin on the hour to 64.5 and the control cell on the hour to 41. Results of flowcytometry showed ethyl acetate fraction induce apoptosis by 72.82% while cisplatin 87.96%. It can be concluded that the extracts and fractions of leaves salung have a cytotoxic effect, acts as an anti-proliferation and inducer of apoptosis in HeLa cervical cancer cell.
