Abstract

This article aims to describe the pattern of Muslim friendship with the veil and its relationship to academic achievement and character building for veiled female students at Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo. In this study using the kualitatif fenomenology research method with the research subject of veiled female students both all Faculties and Ma'had at Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo. The results obtained from this study are veiled female students at Muhammadiyah University strengthening each other in terms of piety, bound by piety to Allah SWT. The friendship pattern of veiled female students has a close relationship with academic achievement, namely that each other is able to guide and become mentors in achieving better achievements. Through the pattern of friendship that is intertwined with each other, they provide good examples in terms of character so that they are able to instill a solid foundation of Islamic character in the friendship

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore the competence and understand the principal's strategy in improving the quality of teacher competence at SMA Islam As Sakinah Sidoarjo, the obstacles faced by the principal in improving the quality of teachers, as well as the principal's strategy in overcoming the obstacles which appear in efforts to improve the quality of teachers at SMA Islam As Sakinah Sidoarjo. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research subjects were determined purposively, they are the principal and teachers of SMA Islam As Sakinah Sidoarjo. Observation, interview and documentation are data collection techniques. Reduction data, display data, and conclusion are the steps of data analysis. To check the validity of the data using source triangulation and discussion with the supervising lecturer. The results of the study prove that the principal's strategies in improving the quality of teacher competence at SMA Islam As Sakinah Sidoarjo are: (1) further study of the S.2 professional degree, (2) activating teachers in increasing competence, (3) providing motivation, (4) maximizing the function of the school library, (5) conducting periodic supervision and (6) providing welfare benefits. The obstacles faced by principals in implementing strategies to improve the quality of teacher competence at SMA Islam As Sakinah Sidoarjo are the lack of interest and awareness of teachers, insight into thinking which still tends to be exclusive, lack of teacher supervision activities and several other external factors. While the solutions to overcome the obstacles which appear include providing motivation and good treatment, involving teachers in scientific activities and increasing the implementation of teacher supervision.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore and understand the strategies of Islamic Religious Education teachers in shaping the Islamic character of the 10th grade students of MA Ma'arif Durensewu, Pasuruan Regency, the supporting and inhibiting factors in the formation of the Islamic character of the 10th graders of MA Ma'arif Durensewu, Pasuruan Regency, and solutions. and problem solving taken by the teacher in shaping the Islamic character of the 10th grade students of MA Ma'Arif Durensewu, Pasuruan Regency. To achieve this goal, the researchers used qualitative research methods with a phenomenological approach. The research subjects were PAI teachers, 13 female students, and 11 male students. The types of data collected are qualitative and quantitative, primary sources and secondary sources. Meanwhile, for data collection, the researcher used observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The data obtained were analyzed through reduction, display and draw conclusions. The results showed that the strategy of Islamic Religious Education teachers in shaping students' characters used cooperative learning, Problem Based Learning, and Project Based Learning models. Supporting factors in shaping the character of students are the religious atmosphere created by the madrasa that is very good, for example, providing an assessment of congregational prayers, students are required to take religious extracurricular activities, the field of Islamic Da'wah and Islamic Music, etc. The inhibiting factor is the very varied parental background and the less supportive community environment. The solution provided by Islamic Religious Education teachers in solving these problems. Keywords: Learning Strategies, PAI teachers, Islamic Character Building.
