Abstract

Community of fishermen is one of social segments who considered as having daily life worse than other social segments, such as farmers, factory labourers, etc. Certain efforts can be done to improve the level of life of the fishermen, i.e to increase their production of fish. The way which can be done is by improving the unit of productive assets so that it can increase motivation of the fishermen for better behavior. Recently fishermen are not able to go out from their miserable socio economic situation, mainly due to (a) bargaining position weakness, (b) lacking of capital, (c) low level of knowledge and skill, (d) lacking of supervision, (e) no guarantee of promising market. Based on those evidence it is worth to study the relationship between fishermen motivation and their behavior to increase production of fish.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain information about internal and external factors affecting porang development and obtain porang development strategies in Binjai City. The data analysis method uses the IFE (Internal Factor Evaluation), EFE (External Factor Evaluation) matrix, the IE (Internal-External) matrix, and the SWOT matrix. The results showed that the porang development strategy was an aggressive growth policy strategy by taking advantage of opportunities by using the strengths (SO Strategy) of the porang producers. Some strategies that can be applied are: (1) using social media and e-commerce as a promotional platform to increase customer interest by explaining the good quality of porang, how to cultivate plants that do not require special treatment, and how to process porang tubers into food, (2) the number of exporters and the need for exports are quite large, so the cultivation of porang plants has good potential and prospects in the future and has promising advantages.

Abstract

Increasing the productivity of rice plants requires the role of fertilizer, one of which is lowland rice farmers who believe that fertilizer is the most important key factor for increasing rice production. The government's role is to provide subsidized fertilizers for the agricultural sector. Farmer groups were formed to solve problems faced by farmers that cannot be solved individually. The role of farmer groups in distributing subsidized fertilizers is to facilitate the distribution of subsidized fertilizers into the hands of farmers. Subsidized fertilizers are only intended for farmers who join farmer groups, this is in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture Number 47 of 2017 concerning the designation and highest retail price (HET) of subsidized fertilizers. This study aims to analyze the role of farmer groups in distributing subsidized fertilizers. The research method uses the Descriptive Analysis method, which is to explain and describe the phenomena that occur in the research area and to analyze the role of farmer groups in distributing subsidized fertilizer. The results of this study are that the role of farmer groups in distributing subsidized fertilizers is included in the high category with a total score of 2.9 in the role category. Farmer groups play an important role in improving farmer performance with changes in farmers towards a better way of managing lowland rice farming as indicated by the existence of learning classes that increase farmer knowledge, a vehicle for cooperation that builds cooperation in the distribution of subsidized fertilizers and production units helping farmers with get subsidized fertilizer.

Abstract

Desa Pematang Johar memiliki wisata unggulan yaitu wisata sawah Desa Pematang Johar. Wisata sawah ini memiliki daya tarik tersendiri yaitu hamparan padi yang memberikan udara yang sejuk dan konsep pedesaan yang jauh dari perkotaan. Tujuan penelitian untuk menentukan faktor yang menentukan kunjungan wisatawan. Sampel penelitian adalah 110 wisatawan. Faktor-faktor yang dianalisis meliputi promosi, sumber daya, sarana dan prasarana, motivasi, covid-19 dan kelembagaan. Penelitian menerapkan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian bahwa kelembagaan mempunyai pengaruh positif dan signifikan.

Abstract

Various strategies and innovations are implemented as steps to achieve the desired profits and goals. However, it is also necessary to maintain business continuity for a long time and expand the business so that the wheels of the business continue to run smoothly. This research aims to analyse internal and external company factors that influence the development of Arabica coffee processing businesses in the research area, to analyse development strategies and alternative strategies for developing Arabica coffee processing businesses. The data analysis method was carried out using descriptive qualitative and using a SWOT analysis diagram. The results of this research are internal factors of strength, namely: initial business capital, attractive business name, place design, affordable prices, quality raw materials, varied menu variants, taste of coffee drinks and payment methods. Internal factors of weakness are: less strategic business location, limited workforce, service, product visuals, parking facilities and product variants that are not durable. External factors of opportunity are: consumer image, use of technology, consumers buying consistently, changes in consumer tastes, consumers buying online, adding menu variants and social media as promotion. External threat factors are: similar competitors, similar products, the existence of substitute drinks, fluctuations in raw material prices and declining consumer interest. Based on the SWOT analysis diagram, it is known that the company's position is in quadrant 1, supporting an aggressive strategy.

Abstract

Durian agro-tourism is located in Purba Baringin Village, Pakkat District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency. Durian agro-tourism uses durian as a tourist attraction to attract tourists to visit Durian agro-tourism, not only durian that tourists consider visiting Durian agro-tourism but other aspects such as resources, promotions, facilities and infrastructure, institutions, and visitor satisfaction felt by visitors. The purpose of the study was to determine the factors that influence tourist visits to Durian agro-tourism. The method of determining the sample is by purposive sampling method, or it is done intentionally. The results obtained from this study are: 1) The influence of resource, promotion, institutional, and visitor satisfaction variables on tourist visits simultaneously is 0.087, and 0.913 is influenced by other models 2) The influence of resources, promotion, facilities, and infrastructure, institutional and satisfaction variables visitors to tourist visits partially are Resources 0.324, promotions -0.216, facilities and infrastructure -0.112, institutions -0.036, and visitor satisfaction -0.011.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the internal factors that influence the development of palm sugar products in Garunggang Village, to find out the external factors that influence the development of palm sugar products in Garunggang Village, to analyze the strategy for developing palm sugar products. The determination of the research area was carried out purposively or intentionally, namely in Garunggang Village, Kuala District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra Province. The sampling method in this study was carried out by census with a sample size of 45 people. Analysis method used was qualitative descriptive and used a SWOT matrix and QSPM. Based on the results of the study, the strength factors are: Palm Sugar is in great demand by consumers, The product has several size variants, The manufacturer collaborates with the North Sumatra UMKM service, The raw materials used are selected quality palm sap, Already has a business license, Affordable price, Has its own brand, Palm Sugar Does not use artificial sweeteners, Product shelf life is 1 year, Attractive and safe packaging. Weakness factors are: Production location is not strategic enough, Online promotion and marketing are not optimal, Sales do not use online marketing media, Limited market segment, Easily damaged if not stored properly. Opportunity factors: Being one of USU's fostered villages, There is training on good product marketing, There is free incentive assistance for labels (composition, Halal, MUI), Technological developments that can help spread information and market faster, Raw materials are easily obtained, Participating in exhibitions held by certain parties. Threat factors: Unstable production of palm sap, The existence of new similar products with cheaper prices, Products are easily imitated, The existence of new and old competitors, Inadequate infrastructure, Unstable internet network connection. Based on the SWOT analysis diagram, it is known that the company's position is in quadrant 1 supporting an aggressive strategy. Based on the order of alternative SWOT strategies, Strength - Opportunity (SO) produces the highest weight. Strength–Opportunity (SO) strategy: use technology for marketing, highlight product benefits, join trainings and exhibitions, and utilize labeling support to expand market reach.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors influencing tourist visits during the Covid-19 pandemic. The sampling method was selected purposively at Taman Seribu Bunga Agrotourism County 1, Raya, Berastagi District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra Province. This sampling method uses Purposive Sampling, which is a sampling technique that is not based on random, region or strata but based on considerations that focus on specific goals with a total of 100 respondents. The results showed that the factors influencing visitor satisfaction were: a) Independent variables (infrastructure with a beta coefficient of 0,426 and promotions with a beta coefficient of 0,315) had a positive effect on visitor satisfaction resources (with a beta coefficient of 0,051 and institutions with a beta path coefficient 0,023) simultaneously has a positive but not significant effect on visitor satisfaction. b) The factors that influence tourist visits are: a) Independent variables (infrastructure with a beta coefficient of 0,475, promotion with a beta coefficient of 0,440 and visitor satisfaction with a beta coefficient of 0,554) have a positive and significant effect on tourists visits and resource (coefficients beta line 0,027 and institutional coefficient beta line 0,152) has a positive but not significant effect on tourist visits.
