Abstract

North Sulawesi has one large dam located in Pindol Village, Lolak District. The research objective was to determine the lithology of the bedrock of dam foundation, rock class, and subsurface permeability of the dam. The method used in this research is core logging analysis and water pressure test. The bedrock foundations of the dam consist of andesite units, shale units, sandstone units which are included in the Sedimentary Facies Tinombo Formation and Volcanic Tinombo Formation. The formations are included in the Eocene to Early Oligocene Eocene and deposited in the deep marine environment. The foundation rock class is predominantly CM class (rather soft and fairly weathered rock), the rock quality of design is poor-medium characterized by the presence of broken cores and easily crushed in some parts. Lolak Dam has 6 permeability zones, namely very high, high, medium, moderate, low, and very low permeability with an average lugeon value of 4.43 liters/minute. The standard of lugeon value for the dam foundation is Lu3, so it is necessary to repair the drill points on the pilot hole which has a lugeon value of 3 (low, moderate, medium, high, and very high permeability zones) to increase the capacity foundation rock.

Abstract

Gold is one of the precious metals with high economic value, so the exploration process becomes an important stage to find new resources so that gold production remains optimal. The research was aimed at investigating the geological condition and characteristics of hydrothermal alteration and mineralization developed in the research site. The research site was included in the area CoW of PT. Gorontalo Sejahtera Mining exactly lied in Hulawa Village, Gorontalo, Indonesia. This research integrated the fieldwork with laboratory tests and analysis, including petrography, Analytical Spectral Devices, and mineragraphy. Based on data that had been conducted and data analysis results, it can be concluded that the research site consisted of lithology in the form of Oligocene granodiorite and Pliocene rhyodacite and diatreme breccia that rolled as host rock’s mineralization. Normal right-slip fault directing E-W is interpreted as a pre-mineralization structure, while normal left-slip fault directing NNE-SSW is interpreted as syn-mineralization structure or controlling structure during alteration and mineralization process. Alteration developed in research area consisted of the phyllic zone (sericite + quartz ± pyrite ± montmorillonite ± chlorite ± carbonate), argillic zone (illite + kaolinite ± smectite ± montmorilonite), and chloritic zone (chlorite + carbonate + pyrite ± quartz ± illite ± sericite ± montmorillonite). Hydrothermal deposits controlled by geological structure and volcanic mechanism. Mineralization in the research site was found in stockwork quartz veins and hydrothermal breccia, and some were found in dissemination with ores such as pyrite, chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite, galena, sphalerite, bornite, covelite, gold, and electrum. Based on its alteration and mineralization characteristics, the epithermal deposits in the research site was the type of low sulphidation deposite in-depth level in the model of open-vein and breccia.

Abstract

Economic growth and improvement the quality of life of good rural communities require the availability of adequate infrastructure and social public facilities. Infrastructure development in the village requires good planning, according to the needs of the community and according to the characteristics of each village. The results of field observations in Raku Village showed several findings, namely infrastructure and social public facilities were inadequate, there was no infrastructure distribution map, and the existing maps were not up to date. Mapping of public and social facilities in Raku Village, North Tabukan District, Sangihe Archipelago Regency, North Sulawesi Province is part of the community service activities of the Universitas Negeri Gorontalo Collaborative Real Work Lecture. The mapping of public and social facilities aims to map social public facilities, determine the distribution of public and social facilities, and provide spatial data as a basis for policy making by the government. Mapping of village public and social facilities which are part of this community service activity uses the integration method of field surveys and spatial data analysis. Data collection on the location of public and social facilities was carried out using an Android-based GPS, while information on public and social facilities was collected through interviews with residents. Processing and analysis of field survey data, both spatial data and attribute data, was carried out using the Geographic Information System software application, namely ArcGIS 10.8. The results of the primary data survey on public and social facilities and analysis of spatial data show that the public and social facilities in Raku Village are divided into educational facilities, religious facilities, health facilities, government offices, and other social facilities.

Abstract

The research aimed to reconstruct the geological structure and tectonics based on fault, shear fracture and veins data of the Botutonuo and surrounding areas. This research was conducted with DEM interpretation method to determine the lineament pattern of rock offsets and the geological structure mapping method. Geological structure analysis was carried out by using kinematic analysis method of fault, fracture and veins data using the Win Tensor program to obtain the direction and type of stress forming it. Based on the results of the analysis, extensive stress and transtensive stress trendingN-S resulted direction of Normal Fault and Slip Fault (NE-SW). Extensional stress trending (NE-SW) is the result of reorientation stress trending (N-S) in the North Sulawesi arm which is accommodated by the Gorontalo Fault regime. Normal fault and slip fault are the 2nd order faults of the 1st order faults of Gorontalo faults.
