Abstract

The Talang Kuning Women Farmers Group (KWT) is located in Nagari Batu Bulek, North Lintau Buo District, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra. KWT Talang Kuning is engaged in raising Ettawa Peranakan goats. Fertile natural conditions and a large area of land support KWT for raising PE goats. The purpose of KWT for raising goats is to help the family's economy. The technology transfer carried out in KWT uses leaves as a feed additive in goat rations. It can be given directly in fresh condition, processed into an infusion or made into licking candy (saka mineral urea block). The infusion of the leaves of the wake was tested on lactating goats at KWT Talang Kuning. The method of implementing the activities is in the form of lectures and discussions and direct practice. The results of the trial on lactating PE goats showed an increase in milk production for two weeks. The provision of leaf plant seeds for KWTs developed on KWT land and the practice of leaf processing motivates KWTs in developing goats. Farmer groups very much need this activity to motivate their enthusiasm in advancing the livestock business. Group activities are usually technology transfer which is carried out by discussion and direct practice with them. Making infusion of the leaves of Bangun-bangun was very beneficial for the group because it was proven to increase milk production of lactating goats. To provide it sustainably, seeds that cuttings can plant have also been provided, and on the group's land, leaf plants have grown.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan guna mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekoenzim berbasis daun Senduduk yang diberikan melalui air minum terhadap performans dan mortalitas broiler. Penelitian dilaksanakan secara eksperimen menggunakan RAL (4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan). Adapun perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu P0 : kontrol (tanpa ekoenzim), P1 : 7,5 ml ekoenzim/liter air minum, P2 : 10 ml ekoenzim/liter air minum, dan P3 : 12,5 ml ekoenzim/liter air minum. Parameter yang diamati meliputi pertambahan berat badan, konsumsi ransum, konversi ransum, persentase karkas dan mortalitas broiler. Hasil penelitian ditemukan pemberian ekoenzim berbasis Senduduk berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap (p˃0,05) performa dan mortalitas broiler. Pemberian ekoenzim berbasis daun Senduduk hingga level 12,5 ml/liter air minum tidak menurunkan performa broiler dilihat dari konsumsi, pertambahan berat badan, konversi ransum serta persentase karkas broiler hasil penelitian. Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the response of the lymphoid organs of broilers with the addition of fermented castor leaves (Jatropha curcas Lin) and ginger (Zingiber officinale Var) in drinking water against the immunity of broilers, measured through the weight of lymphoid organs (bursa fabricius, thymus, and spleen) and final weight. The method used is an experiment with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments consist of : A (control), B (Addition of 0,5% fermented castor leaves and ginger in 1 liter of water), C (Addition of 1% fermented castor leaves and ginger in 1 liter of water), D (Addition of 1,5% fermented castor leaves and ginger in 1 liter of water), E (Addition of 2% fermented castor leaves and ginger in 1 liter of water). The observed parameters include the weight of lymphoid organs (bursa fabricius, thymus, spleen) and final weight. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The research results show that the addition of fermented castor leaves and ginger has nonsignificant effect (P>0,05) on the weight of the bursa of fabricius, thymus, spleen and final weight. The conclusion of this study is that the addition of fermented castor leaves and ginger in drinking water is acceptable without producing negative effects that significantly influence the percentage of lymphoid organ weight, and thus can be considered as a feed additive in drinking water for broilers to enhance body resistance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh pemberian daun salam terhadap organ internal broiler. Penelitian ini menggunakan 100 ekor DOC broiler dengan pemeliharaan selama 28 hari. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan RAL (4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan). Perlakuan penelitian adalah pemberian infusa daun salam pada air minum broiler yaitu A (kontrol), B (10 ml infusa/liter air minum), C (20 ml infusa/liter air minum), dan D (30 ml infusa/liter air minum). Variabel penelitian terdiri dari persentase hati, persentase jantung, persentase limpa, dan persentase empedu broiler. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan pemberian larutan daun salam tidak berpengaruh signifikan (P>0,05) pada persentase hati, persentase jantung, persentase limpa, dan persentase empedu broiler. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian daun salam tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap organ internal broiler.   Kata kunci: Broiler, Daun Salam, Organ Internal Broiler

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of fermented kacang tujuh jurai (seven-branched peanut) leaf (DKTJF) supplementation in drinking water on the performance of broiler chickens, and to determine the most effective inclusion level. The leaves are known to contain various bioactive compounds, including alkaloids, terpenoids, flavonoids, steroids, saponins, phenolic compounds, and pheromones. The experiment was carried out over three months at the Nutrition and Feed Technology, Animal Production, Quality Testing, and Analysis Laboratories of the Payakumbuh State Agricultural Polytechnic. The materials used for preparing the treatment solution included 2 kg of fermented kacang tujuh jurai, 1 liter of EM4, 1 liter of molasses, and water. The materials used for broiler maintenance included day-old chicks (DOC), DKTJF, corn, soybean meal, minerals, coconut oil, fish meal, rice bran, and commercial feed. The equipment used for the treatment application included cages divided into 20 units (0.5 m × 0.5 m). A completely randomized design (CRD) was used, consisting of five treatment groups with four replications each, totaling 20 experimental units. Each unit contained four day-old chicks (DOC), resulting in a total of 80 broiler chickens. The treatments included DKTJF in the drinking water at 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, and 2% levels. Observed parameters included body weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion ratio (FCR), water intake, and broiler performance index. The results showed that DKTJF supplementation significantly (P<0.05) affected body weight gain and water intake, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on feed intake, FCR, or performance index. In conclusion, supplementation of up to 2% DKTJF in drinking water did not alter feed efficiency or overall performance, but it improved growth and reduced water consumption. The optimal inclusion level was identified at 1.5%.
