Abstract

Waste or organic waste from households can be converted into liquid organic fertilizer (POC) because organic waste contains nutrients that can be used as fertilizer. Waste becomes a problem not only in urban areas but also in rural areas because the population is increasing, so that waste production is also more. Household waste that is generated every day can be used as fertilizer by composting, but its utilization is not optimal. The socialization activity aims to provide education and increase insight to the community into the use of household organic waste. The community is given knowledge about the importance of utilizing household organic waste, how to manage household organic waste through the composting process, utilizing household organic waste as liquid organic fertilizer in cultivating vegetable crops, the benefits and cost-efficiency of organic vegetables for family self-sufficiency and organic vegetable business opportunities. The socialization involved 35 people, and the form of activity evaluation uses a questionnaire containing general characteristics of the respondent and selected questions. The results of the evaluation show that the age characteristics of the respondents are 50 - 59 years old, and the level of formal education is from Junior High School to Senior High School. On average, respondents already know and understand how to use household waste by composting a composter bucket (100%) as liquid organic fertilizer

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan sifat kimia tanah terhadap produktivitas tanaman tebu. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) non faktorial dan metode analisa dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode analisis regresi, korelasi dan ANOVA.  Pelaksanaan penelitian dilakukan dengan mengambil sampel tanah pada 4 lokasi penelitian, beserta dengan tinggi tanaman dan diameter batang. Produktivitas tebu didapatkan dari data sekunder PG. Madukismo. Pertumbuhan tanaman seperti tinggi tanaman dan diameter batang tebu tertinggi didapatkan pada Lokasi II dan memberikan produktivitas tebu tertinggi dibandingkan dengan lokasi penelitian lain meskipun tidak berbeda nyata. Produktivitas tanaman tebu dipengaruhi oleh keragaan pertumbuhan tanaman seperti tinggi tanaman dan diameter batang. Sifat tanah terutama pH, bahan organik, kandungan hara P dan K tersedia memiliki hubungan yang cukup kuat dan positif terhadap produktivitas tanaman tebu yang ditanam. Pemberian tambahan hara atau pengelolaan lahan sebaiknya dilakukan spesifik lokasi agar menghasilkan hasil yang optimal.

Abstract

Pemerintah saat ini sedang melakukan perluasan lahan untuk tanaman tebu sebagai upaya untuk memenuhi kebutuhan gula di Indonesia, mengingat tanaman tebu masih menjadi bahan baku utama dalam produksi gula.Perluasan lahan ini banyak dilakukan hingga lahan yang marjinal sehingga hal ini menyebabkan hasil produksi kurang maksimal dan diperlukan analisa kesesuian lahan agar dapat memberikan saran pengelolaan lahan yang paling tepat sesuai lokasi dan hasil maksimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa karakteristik dan kelas kesesuaian lahan komoditas tanaman tebu di lahan tebu petani di Desa Agromulyo dan Desa Wukirsari, Kecamatan Cangkringan pada bulan Mei 2021-Maret 2022 pada tiga Satuan Peta Lahan (SPL). Analisa yang diamati antara lain temperatur, curah hujan, drainase, tekstur, kedalaman tanah, Kapasitas Tukar Kation (KTK), pH, C-organik, N, P2O5, K2O, kelerengan, bahaya erosi dan banjir. Data yang didapatkan kemudian dianalisa menggunakan metode matching dan deskriptif untuk menentukan hasil penilaian evaluasi lahan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa untuk penanaman tebu, kelas kesesuaian lahan di Cangkringan adalah sesuai marginal (S3(oa,na)) dengan faktor pembatas meliputi drainase (oa) dan ketersediaan hara (na). Setelah dilakukan perbaikan faktor pembatas, kelas kesesuaian lahan potensialnya dapat naik satu tingkat menjadi kelas kesesuaian lahan sesuai (S2(oa,na)). Perbaikan faktor pembatas dapat dilakukan dengan melakukan pembajakan tanah, pemberian bahan organik dan penambahan dosis pupuk P dan K.

Abstract

Tebu (Saccharum officinarum L) merupakan tanaman rumput-rumputan yang telah dibudidayakan di lebih dari 90 negara, baik di negara tropis dan subtropis. Tebu di Indonesia dimanfaatkan utama sebagai bahan baku dalam industri gula. Saat ini budidaya tebu banyak dilakukan pada lahan marjinal (pasiran) sehingga hasil yang didapatkan kurang maksimal. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Dusun Kiaran, Kecamatan Cangkringan, Kelurahan Wukirsari dan varietas tebu yang digunakan merupakan Bululawangan (BL). Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian RAK 1 faktor yaitu penambahan blotong, dengan dua taraf yaitu B0 (tanpa blotong) dan B1 (dengan blotong) dengan tiga ulangan. Dosis blotong yang ditambahkan adalah 11,25 ton/ha blotong basah. Analisa tanah dan tanaman serta hasil tanaman dilakukan untuk melihat pengaruh pemberian blotong. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa blotong basah dari PG Madukismo memiliki kandungan pH yang netral, C organik tinggi dan memiliki kandungan hara baik N, P, K, Ca, Mg, dan Na. Terdapat hasil yang signifikan lebih tinggi pada tebu yang ditanam di lahan yang ditambahkan blotong dibandingkan pada tebu yang ditanam pada lahan tanpa penambahan blotong, pada parameter diameter batang, jumlah batang per rumpun, jumlah daun hijau dan produktivitas tebu. Kadar lengas tanah dan berat volume tanah memberikan hasil yang berbeda nyata antara lahan yang diberi blotong dan tanpa penambahan blotong. Penambahan blotong memberikan peningkatan yang signifikan pada parameter produksi brix dan produktivitas tebu, dengan peningkatan produktivitas hingga 208%. Pemberian blotong sebagai bahan pembenah tanah menjadi salah satu alternatif dalam upaya peningkatan produktivitas tebu di lahan pasiran.

Abstract

[RESPONSE OF THE NUTRITION LEVELS OF SUGARCANE IN THREE ORDERS OF SOIL DUE TO SUGARCANE MONOCULTURE CULTIVATION]. Monoculture cultivation will have an influence not only on soil conditions but also on plant growth, nutrient levels in plant tissues, and yields. The purpose of this study was (1)  to determine the effect of monoculture sugarcane cultivation on nutrient levels of the roots, stalks, and leaves of sugarcane plants, (2) to determine the relationship between nutrient levels in sugarcane tissue and sugarcane productivity, and yield in three different soil orders. This research had two factors, namely soil order (Entisol, Inceptisol, and Vertisol) and sugarcane monoculture period (1–10, 11–20, and 21–30 years). The sugar cane used was the ratoon of two sugarcane. Parameters observed included nutrient levels of N, P, K, B, and Zn in roots, stalks, and leaves of sugarcane, and productivity of plants. Data analysis was performed with ANOVA at 5% level and regression correlation analysis. The results showed that the levels of N (leaves, stalks, and roots), levels of P (leaves, stalks, and roots), levels of leaf K, levels of B (leaves and roots), and level of Zn of sugarcane roots were influenced by the interaction between soil order and sugarcane monoculture period. Zn and K levels in sugarcane leaves had a strong and significant correlation with sugarcane productivity (r=0.778* and r=0.699*), while sugarcane yields had a strong and significant correlation with N content of root (r=0.752*). This result indicates that the soil order and the mass of sugarcane monoculture have an effect on the nutrient content in the plant and this nutrient content affects the productivity and yield. The availability of macro and micronutrients needs to be considered in monoculture sugarcane planting techniques to obtain optimal and sustainable sugarcane yields.

Abstract

Sugarcane in Indonesia are very important economically because they were the main raw material for the sugar industry. To meet sugar needs, efforts are needed to intensify and extensify sugarcane cultivation, ensuring high productivity and yield. One of the expansions of sugarcane fields in Yogyakarta is fields with sandy soil. The planting system is an intensification effort, both with single rows and double rows, where each system has a different impact. This research aims to analyze the impact of sugarcane planting (single-row and double-row planting systems) on soil conditions and sugarcane yields on sandy land. This research used a one-factor Randomized Block Design (RAK) with two levels of treatment, namely single-row and double-row systems. Each level was repeated 6 times in blocks, with the land area of ​​one block being 50m2, so the total land area used for research was 300 m2. The analysis was carried out when the plants were 6 months old, by taking samples of 5 plants in each experimental unit and analyzing the Brix percentage, pol percentage, purity value, sap value, and yield. Soil samples were taken from a depth of 10-30 cm from each experimental unit and analyzed for moisture content, organic matter, soil pH, cation exchange capacity (CEC), available nitrogen, available phosphorus, and available potassium. The data obtained was then analyzed using a T-test at a 5% level and correlation analysis using SPSS. The planting system did not have a significant effect on organic C, pH, CEC, available nitrogen, available phosphorus, and available potassium of the soil. Single-row sugarcane planting provides higher and significantly different poll%, sap value, and sugarcane yield compared to double-row planting. There was a strong correlation between soil organic matter and the sugarcane yield content obtained (r=0.52). Maintaining soil organic matter is an alternative to maintain and increase the yield and yield of sugar cane plants.

Abstract

The government has launched a sugar self-sufficiency program to increase sugarcane production. One of the strategies is land extensification by opening and managing new areas based on land suitability that meets the growth requirements of sugarcane. This research aims to identify the land suitability in Banyuroto Village for sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.). The research was conducted from February to May 2024 in Banyuroto Village, Nanggulan Subdistrict, Kulonprogo Regency, Yogyakarta. This study used a descriptive exploratory method with a field survey approach to identify land characteristics and evaluate the level of land suitability. Location points were determined using a purposive method with two Land Map Units (LMU) in Sambiroto and Kesoh hamlets. Soil sampling at each LMU was carried out using simple random sampling. Rainfall and air temperature data were obtained from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) for the period 2019–2023. Observed land characteristics include soil texture, drainage conditions, effective soil depth, soil pH, cation exchange capacity (CEC), organic C content, total nitrogen (N-total), available phosphorus (P-available), percentage of surface rocks, and slope gradient. Calculation and determination of land suitability class, using the matching method, by comparing observed climate and land characteristics with sugarcane growing requirements based on land suitability evaluation criteria. The results show that Banyuroto Village, Nanggulan District, Kulon Progo, has an actual suitability class of S3oa,na for sugarcane cultivation, which means marginally suitable for sugarcane cultivation, with limiting factors being soil drainage and available nutrients. This is likely the cause of less-than-optimal sugarcane productivity. If improvements have been made, such as through soil cultivation (plowing), the creation of an intensive drainage system, and proper KCl fertilizer management, it has the potential to become a suitability class of S2 (fairly suitable).
