Abstract

Ubikayu diperdagangkan di pasar dunia sudah sejak lama, namun belum banyak diketahui bahwa ubikayu, dibalik anggapan sebagai barang bermutu rendah, memiliki peran besar dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dengan berbagai kegunaannya dan berbagai produk yang dihasilkannya. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk mengetahui perspektif perdagangan ubikayu dalam berbagai fungsi kegunaannya di pasar dunia dan bagaimana implementasi pengembangannya seiring dengan upaya pencapaian kedaulatan pangan di Indonesia. Ubikayu diproduksi oleh negara-negara tropis, yaitu negara-negara di benua Afrika dan Asia. Berbagai fungsi kegunaan ubikayu adalah sebagai bahan pangan, pakan, bahan baku industri, dan berbagai kegunaan lainnya. Di pasar dunia ubikayu dijual dalam bentuk ubikayu segar, ubikayu kering, dan pati ubikayu. Di banyak negara berkembang, selain Thailand, Vietnam dan Indonesia, ubikayu sangat jarang diperdagangkan dan/atau diperdagangkan secara tidak formal. Kata kunci: ubikayu; pasar dunia; perdagangan

Abstract

Eventhough wetland rice productivity in Lebong Regency has already been quite high, theneed for rice continues to increase along with population growth. This condition need to behandled by increasing rice production, especially the production of upland rice. This studyaims to study the crop management in rice farming implemented in Lebong Regency andanalyze the production and productivity of rice for every crop management. Research dataare primary data and secondary data collected through Focus Group Discussion involving20 farmer groups . Qualitative data are analysed descriptively by examining theirfarm management focused on variation role of crop and session. The study of cropmanagement pattern in Lebong Regency can be concluded as follows: (1) landmanagement depends on the readiness of farm workers and peasants to work and providecapital so that the cultivated land is limited to the availability of capital owned by farmworkers which is influenced by socio-economic, technical, and market factors, (2) lessoptimal maintenance of centre of production, especially in irrigated rice fields, so thatefforts should be made to increase production and productivity, and (3) lack of synergy indeveloping centre of rice production for staple food providers as a measure of achievementof food security.

Abstract

This study attempts to make the profile of the "jamu traditional" business in Bengkulu City. This research used the survey method and had done from August till December 2017. This research used descriptive analysis, R/C ratio, and Return on Investment analysis. The owners stay in 7 sub-district in Bengkulu City. Sub-District Ratu Agung is the location in which most owners stay there. The are dominates women and in the age group 45-54 years old. They have the average experience 24, 23 years with educational level still just elementary school. At once the production process issued cost Rp. 75.750,15 while the income Rp. 189.000. R/C ratio 2,49 and return on investment 149,5%. So this business appropriate to do so. The owners have positive perception and hight motivation with their business.

Abstract

Jamu merupakan sebutan untuk obat tradisional dari Indonesia. Di berbagai kota besar terdapat profesi penjual jamu gendong yang berkeliling menjajakan jamu sebagai minuman sehat dan menyegarkan. Di Kota Bengkulu produk jamu tradisional dipasarkan secara digendong di punggung dan dijajakan dengan berjalan kaki, serta ada juga yang menjual jamu dengan menggunakan sepeda/sepeda motor. Proses pembuatan jamu selama ini masih tradisional dan belum menggunaan alat bantu modern, oleh karena itu pendapatan rata-rata yang mereka peroleh belum maksimal. Untuk itu sasaran kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah membekali para pengrajin jamu tradisional mengenai pengelolaan usaha yang baik, pembuatan produk yang lebih inovatif, pemberdayaan kelompok/koperasi untuk pengembangan usaha. Dari hasil pengabdian yang telah dilaksanakan dapat direkomendasi beberapa hal, yaitu (1) perbaikan kualitas bahan baku; (2) membentuk Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUBE) Sumber Rejeki menjadi kelompok usaha produktif yang nantinya diharapkan dapat berkembang menjadi Koperasi Jamu Gendong; (3) pengrajin jamu gendong masih menggunakan jamu-jamu sachet racikan yang diproduksi oleh produsen yang belum teregister dan tidak bisa dipertanggungjawabkan, untuk itu perlu dirintis kerjasama dengan produsen jamu racik yang sudah jelas teregister; dan (4) memproduksi jamu kering dalam bentuk sachet instan.

Abstract

Cassava (Manihot Esculenta Crantz) is one of the export commodities from food crops sub-sectorand has potency to be developed. Indonesia is the biggest fourth producer of cassava in the worldafter Nigeria, Brazil and Thailand. Cassava grows very well under limited rainfall and poor soilconditions, with flexibility in planting and harvesting period. However, the negative impact andimage of cassava cause existing potency cannot be improved optimally, either in export or domesticmarket. This research aimed to identify level of comparative advantage and competitive position forthe Indonesian cassava products. Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), SpecializationCommerce Index (SCI), and Acceleration Ratio (AR) analysis were implemented to determine thecompetitiveness rate of Indonesian cassava. The result of analysis will be used as the basicdeterminant of Indonesian cassava export and domestic market potencies. The results of theresearch showed that Indonesia has a strong comparative advantage for the commodities of cassavaand tends to be net exporter.Key words : Cassava, competitiveness, export market, domestic market.

Abstract

Farmer groups have an important role in agricultural activities, such as learning classes and vehicles for cooperation and production units. However, in practice there are still some obstacles, such as the infrequency of farmer groups to carry out farming activities and carry out farming activities together. The purpose of this study was to analyze the performance of rice farming, process innovation, the effectiveness of the farmer groups role ant its role on the performance of rice farming directly and through process innovation. The data sources used are primary processed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively using the SEM-PLS approach. The results of the analysis show that the performance of rice farming, process innovation is in the high category and the effectiveness of the role of farmer groups is in the effective category. Analysis of the influence of the effectiveness of farmer groups on the performance of rice farming yielded negative results but not significant. While the indirect effect states that the role of farmer groups has a positive and significant effect on the performance of rice farming through process innovation. Based on a comparison of direct and indirect effects, process innovation is the biggest contributor to improve the performance of rice farming. With these results, farmer groups must still be able to improve the realization of their role so that farmers as members of farmer groups can still improve farming performance and farmer groups must be more active in overcoming various farming problems.
