Abstract

Saat ini, bangunan masjid dapat menjadi daya tarik bagi masyarakat untuk melakukan wisata religi. Banyak unsur dalam arsitektur Islam yang mempengaruhi bentuk arsitektur masjid yang banyak unsur-unsur dekorasi sehingga masjid menjadi daya tarik tersendiri. Pola-pola dekoratif banyak muncul pada beberapa komponen bangunan masjid, seperti mihrab, dinding kiblat, kolom dan lain-lain. Dan seberapa jauh pengaruh tersebut muncul dalam arsitektur masjid. Oleh karena itu makalah ini akan menyajikan tinjauan literatur dan lapangan tentang ornamentasi yang muncul dalam beberapa masjid. Makalah ini akan membahas beberapa tampilan ornamentasi dan pola dekoratif pada bangunan masjid.

Abstract

Utilization of the abundant natural potential such as sunlight, especially in Surabaya, its a challenge in itself. This potential can be used for natural lighting in buildings. One of these efforts is how to make the potential of sunlight optimally utilized by controlling space openings that can adapt to the movement of the sun during a day. This research be using qualitative and quantitative methods to measure the adaptation of the movement of the sun barrier device which is placed in front of the unit's open space using a sun visor which is moved by a linear actuator controlled by an Arduino Microcontroller, while the LDR sensor is used to detect the direction of sunlight. From the research results, it was found that the imaging panel device was able to open and close according to the movement of sunlight with strong natural lighting between 10:00 to 15:00.

Abstract

The workbenches that are often found today were originally designed with universal needs in mind. In general, workbench designs that are often encountered in design studios do not consider the work area and storage area. One of the problems that arise from this design is the limited access to storage of design work and design work using manuals and computers. This study discusses the design of a work desk that carries a multifunctional concept. The design of the workspace that carries this multifunctional concept is important to do in order to provide solutions to the problems that have been encountered. This study uses the design thinking method in producing design solutions. Observations were made on the users of the workbench first and then informal interviews related to the level of work comfort were carried out. To support the production process, material selection and product finishing are also carried out in order to obtain products that have good quality. Next, analysis of user needs is carried out to generate design ideas. The result of this study is the design of a multifunctional workbench by considering the complexity of work requirements in order to support the quality of the user's work. This workbench design can be used as a reference for product development, especially on the design of a workbench that can be used in a design studio.

Abstract

The construction of new buildings in heritage neighborhood presents complex challenges that require a balance between preserving the historic value of the area or accommodating the needs of today's society. This research examines the conflicts that can arise during the planning process of new buildings in managing these challenges. The research focuses on a case study of a cultural heritage area in an urban area of Surabaya, where a proposed development project triggered visual and regulatory conflicts. Through a cultural heritage approach and analysis of relevant theories, this research explores how the history of an area contributes to its current development. In addition, it examines the strategies used to resolve the conflict while maintaining the historical value. The findings of this research are expected to provide insights into the integration of new buildings in cultural heritage neighborhood through recommendations to practitioners and policy makers to address these challenges more effectively.

Abstract

Abstract: Nowadays, educational tourism is gaining popularity as an alternative learning method outside traditional classrooms. Through recreational facilities with educational value, visitors are encouraged to learn while engaging in play. One notable destination is Jawa Timur Park 1, located in Batu, Malang. This park combines amusement rides with interactive science and cultural education exhibits, making it a unique educational tourism attraction. A major challenge for educational tourism is to provide a comprehensive and meaningful learning experience. The multisensory approach is considered an effective strategy to overcome this challenge. By integrating visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and other sensory elements, this approach aims to stimulate all senses of the visitors, thereby enhancing their understanding, engagement, and enjoyment of the learning process. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to analyze how the multisensory approach is applied in Jawa Timur Park 1, based on the principles outlined in Peter Zumthor’s theory. The analysis identifies that the park successfully incorporates key multisensory elements, including spatial experience (the body of architecture), material coherence, lighting, visual engagement, soundscapes, and tactile experiences. Although not all elements are applied equally across every attraction, Jawa Timur Park 1 demonstrates how multisensory architecture can enrich educational tourism and improve visitor satisfaction. Abstrak: Pariwisata edukatif kini semakin menjadi sorotan karena mampu menghadirkan proses pembelajaran di luar sekolah melalui rekreasi yang bersifat edukatif. Pengunjung diajak bermain sambil belajar, seperti yang ditawarkan Jawa Timur Park 1 Batu, Malang. Tempat ini menggabungkan taman bermain dengan wahana edukasi budaya dan sains secara interaktif. Namun, pariwisata edukatif menghadapi tantangan dalam memberikan pengalaman belajar yang menyeluruh dan efektif. Pendekatan multisensori dinilai mampu mengatasi tantangan tersebut dengan mengintegrasikan elemen visual, auditif, kinestetik, dan sensorik lainnya. Pendekatan ini merangsang seluruh panca indra, sehingga meningkatkan pemahaman, keterlibatan, dan daya tarik pengalaman belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan analisis deskriptif dengan menguraikan prinsip-prinsip pendekatan multisensori menurut teori Peter Zumthor. Tujuannya adalah memberikan landasan ilmiah tentang bagaimana pariwisata edukatif dapat dikatakan responsif dan menciptakan pengalaman wisata yang berkesan. Studi kasus dilakukan pada Jawa Timur Park 1. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa bangunan tersebut telah memenuhi beberapa parameter multisensori, seperti body of architecture, material compatibility, lighting, visual, auditory, dan haptic experience. Meskipun tidak semua aspek diterapkan secara menyeluruh, penerapan pendekatan ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap kualitas pengalaman pengunjung. Kata Kunci: Jawa Timur Park 1, Wisata Edukasi, Pendekatan Multisensori.
