Abstract

The management of drug sales data in hospitals plays a crucial role in ensuring operational efficiency and patient safety. However, the semi-manual process at Advent Hospital Pharmacy in Medan often leads to issues such as stock data inaccuracies and reporting delays, with a transaction error rate reaching 20%. This study aims to design and build a desktop-based drug sales information system using Microsoft Visual Basic.net to address these problems. The development method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a waterfall model, which includes the stages of requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing. The system was evaluated through two approaches: a usability test with a questionnaire administered to 5 users and a black-box test with 13 functional scenarios. The results showed that the developed system achieved a usability score of 81%, which falls into the "Good" category. Meanwhile, the black-box test results indicated a system effectiveness rate of 85%, with 11 out of 13 test scenarios being successful. This system has been proven to improve data accuracy and sales process efficiency, although further improvements are needed for the input validation and report printing features.

Abstract

An institution can work well to achieve its goals which are determined by many factors. Teachers play an important role in improving the life of a nation. Teachers have great obligations and responsibilities in terms of educating the nation's children. Therefore, a school has several criteria in selecting educators. For this reason, accuracy and examination are needed in selecting educators to get qualified teachers. By using a Web-based decision support system the problems faced by foundations or schools can be overcome, so that subjectivity in decision making can be reduced. This system can integrate data on prospective educators from various sources, such as education, work experience, expertise, and others. In addition, this system can also apply predetermined decision-making methods, such as the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. By using this system, decision makers can easily access and analyze prospective educators' data comprehensively. They can also see the results of ranking prospective educators based on relevant criteria. This allows decision makers to make more objective and informed decisions in determining teaching staff. With this application, it can make it easier to make decisions on determining teaching staff.

Abstract

The library is an essential facility that supports teaching and learning activities in schools. However, the library at SMP Pertiwi Medan still uses a manual system for book loan administration and has experienced a decline in students’ interest in visiting the library for reading. This study aims to design and develop a digital-based library application integrated with a visitor comfort detection system using the DeepFace method on a desktop platform. The application not only provides efficient features for managing book data, borrowing, and returning, but also measures visitors’ nonverbal comfort levels while they are in the library. This measurement aims to obtain data that can serve as a basis for evaluating comfort levels and designing strategies to increase students’ reading interest. The implementation of this application is expected to improve the efficiency of library management and provide a solution to enhance the quality of service as well as the attractiveness of the library for students.
