Abstract

The mean of this research is to observed the OOA (Onset Of Action), DOA (Duration Of Action), Cardiovascular (CRT), respiration system (respiration type and respiration rate) on giving of Ketamine, Xylazine that compare to the combination of Ketamine-Xylazine to rat and reach the anesthetic choice that can fulfill the basic anestesia criteria ( sedation, analgesia, relaxation, safe and applicable).This research use 30 rats that separated in to 3 groups, each group consist of 10 rats. Group P1 got pre-anestesia treatment with atropine (0,05 mg/kg body weight) subcutaneously and 10 minutes latter is given the induction of anestesia with Ketamine (50-200mg/kg body weight) intramuscularly, Group P2 got pre-anestesia treatment with atropine (0,05 mg/kg body weight) subcutaneously and 10 minutes latter is given the induction of anestesia with Xylazine (5-10 mg/kg body weight) intramuscularly and Group P3 got pre-anestesia treatment with atropine (0,05 mg/kg body weight) subcutaneously and 10 minutes latter is given induction of anestesia with Ketamine and Xylazine intramuscularly.Result of the research to OOA and DOA (F < 0,05 < 0,01) show that faint time is earlier in the post injection of ketamine-xylazine. The result of research of anestesia duration to cardiovascular system (CRT) show that there is not real different for the three treatment (F > 0,05 > 0,01) while in the three treatment there is real different for the anestesia stage (F < 0,05 < 0,01). Result of the research for the anestesia duration in the respiration system especially in respiration type show that there is not real different in that three treatment (F > 0,05 > 0,01) while in the anestesia stage show that there is real different (F < 0,05 < 0,01). Research result about the respiration rate in the three treatment show that there is no real different (F > 0,05 > 0,01) so was the treatment in anestesia stage show that there is real different (F < 0,05 < 0,01).

Abstract

The present research to determine the Extract of Pineapple (Ananas comosus) on the survival of catfish infected with A. Hydrophila. The main problem of cultivation of catfish (C. batrachus) is a disease caused by the bacterium Aeromonas hydrophila.Catfish (Clarias batrachus) is a freshwater fish that has several advantages, one of which is a high nutritional content. Test animals used were catfish measuring 15-20cm with a body weight of ± 250gr. Challenge test by injecting A. hydrophila suspension with a dose of 108sel / mm3 as much as 0.1mm intramuscularly. Observations were made for 7 days after infection which included the total number of leukocytes and neutrophils. This study was divided into 5 treatment groups with 5 replications, namely P1 (positive control), P2 (0.1%), P3 (0.3%), P4 (0.5%), P5 (0.7%) and soaking Pineapple Fruit Extract for 24 hours. Data analysis in this study used one way ANOVA statistical test. The results showed symptoms of catfish attacked by Aeromonas hydrophila including increased total number of leukocytes and neutrophils and ulceration in catfish. Soaking effect Pineapple fruit extract 0.5% effective dose can reduce the total number of leukocytes and 0.7% effective dose can reduce the total number of neutrophils.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of ointment extract of kecombrang flower (Etlingera elatior) on healing incision wounds in white rats (Ratus norvegicus) in terms of the formation of wound scab, wound closure time and wound attachment. The experimental research used is Randomized complete design with 4 treatments with 6 replications. The treatments applied were P0 as a negative control, P1 (20% kecombrang flower extract ointment), P2 (30% kecombrang flower extract ointment) and P3 (40% kecombrang flower extract ointment). Parameters of this study were the wound caropeng, wound closure time and wound attachment. The results obtained were different median values in the four groups with p = 0,000 (p <0.05) in the Kruskal Wallis test. In the Mann Whitney test were significant differences between the groups of 20% kecombrang flower extract ointment concentration, 30% concentration and 40% concentration in the negative control group. The most effective result is ointment extract of kecombrang flower 20% on healing incision wounds.

Abstract

Feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD) is a term used to describe various causes of lower urinary tract disorders in cats which include idiopathic, urolithiasis, urinary tract infections, anatomical and neurological disorders. Use of commercial feed is one of the causes of Flutd formation. This study was to determine the correlation between commercial feed types and crystal types in the case of FLUTD cats at the Animal Hospital of East Java Province. The sample is primary data obtained directly by collection of fresh urine and through interviews with animal owners. As many as 30 fresh urine samples were sedimented and then observed under a microscope. The results of observations of urine sedimentation with a microscope showed that 16 cats had crystals in their urine. The highest percentage of struvite crystals was 12 cats (40%). Meanwhile, in 14 cats (46.7%) no crystals were found in the urine. It is known that the sensitivity of the urine sedimentation test is 64% and the specificity is 97%. There are different types of crystals in commercial feed with the same brand. the same brand of commercial feed can produce different types of crystals. This is due to many other factors that trigger the formation of crystallization. The urine sedimentation test is very accurate to detect cases of FLUTD and crystals in the urine
