Abstract

In the 21st Century, students' critical thinking abilities are fundamental to facing challenges and increasing societal obstacles, especially students. This study aimed to determine the level of critical thinking abilities in SMP/MTs students. This study's significance is obtaining test results related to SMP/MTs students' critical thinking abilities. This study used a survey method involving 75 SMP/MTs students who were selected randomly. The instrument used a questionnaire containing critical thinking questions distributed online via Google Forms. The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS. Based on the survey results, it is known that the average student's critical thinking abilities are 8.0 with a good category which details can be explained as follows: 1) Providing simple explanations (8.0); 2) Building basic skills (7,9); 3) Drawing a conclusion from the data (7.5); 4) Providing further explanations (8.0); and 5) Developing a follow-up strategy (7.5). The results of this study allow a conclusion that the constructs with the highest average scores are providing simple explanations and providing further explanations with an average score of 8.0. Thus, it is recommended that students improve their critical thinking abilities and that teachers continue to use the instruments they have used.

Abstract

Hologram-based learning media is one of the alternative learning media that can be used as educational media, increasing student motivation and interest in learning and optimizing the division of work in groups. This media was developed to avoid abstract thinking, a negative impression that has been allowed to occur since they were young, which, in the end, until adulthood, the negative image is dull and makes students uninterested in things. This research was included as developmental research or RnD. Studies related to developing instruments to measure the use of hologram-based learning media as educational media in elementary schools still need to be completed.  The research model used in this study was 4D. The data was collected with an offline questionnaire, and then it was analyzed using quantitative data analysis using the SPSS version 23 for Windows program. The results of this study have proven that: (1) The evaluation instruments construction and development for the use of hologram-based learning media for students in this study were carried out using a theoretical development model to test seven research constructs, namely (a) didactic components, (b) construction of hologram-based learning media, (c) technical hologram-based learning media, (d) ease of use, (e) efficiency of hologram-based learning media, (f) benefits, and (g) interest; (2) The results of construct validity and reliability testing show that the validity of the evaluation instrument has met the valid criteria because the value of r-count r-table (r-count 0.254); and (3) The reliability of the evaluation instrument which has been compiled and developed in this study has also met the high category as indicated by the magnitude of the Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient of 0.980. This indicates that the instrument developed meets the requirements for measuring the use of hologram-based learning media for students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the profile and science literacy skills of fifth grade elementary school students and (2) differences in science literacy skills based on age, ethnicity, gender, parental education and parental occupation. This study used a survey method with a quantitative approach, with a total sample of 60 people taken through purposive sampling technique. All data were collected through test questions distributed online and analyzed quantitatively using the IBM SPSS 24 application and the Two - way ANOVA test. The results showed that: (1) aspects of science literacy skills have an average of 77 with a good category, (2) There are no differences in science literacy skills based on age, gender, parental occupation and parental education.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) pada jenjang Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) memerlukan pendekatan yang inovatif untuk membantu siswa memahami konsep dasar seperti besaran dan satuan. Salah satu pendekatan yang semakin diminati adalah pemanfaatan media digital dalam pengembangan bahan ajar, dimana platform Canva merupakan salah satu perangkat yang paling populer digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi berbagai jenis bahan ajar berbasis Canva yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA, menilai efektivitasnya terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa, dan mengeksplorasi strategi terbaik untuk penerapannya di kelas. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui metode telaah pustaka sistematis dengan pendekatan PRISMA, yang berfokus pada kajian penggunaan Canva dalam konteks pembelajaran IPA di SMP. Sumber pustaka diperoleh dari tiga basis data utama, yaitu Google Scholar, Scopus, dan DOAJ. Untuk memastikan relevansi, pencarian dilakukan dengan menggunakan kata kunci seperti "besaran dan satuan", "media digital Canva", "pembelajaran IPA", dan "inquiri". Batas waktu publikasi artikel berkisar antara tahun 2021 sampai dengan tahun 2025, dengan fokus pada materi ajar yang mengusung pendekatan multirepresentasi dalam pembelajaran IPA pada jenjang SMP. Sebanyak 10 artikel ilmiah yang memenuhi kriteria dianalisis lebih lanjut menggunakan pendekatan analisis naratif, dengan mengelompokkan informasi berdasarkan data yang berhasil diekstraksi. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Canva dapat meningkatkan capaian pembelajaran, partisipasi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, dan motivasi belajar secara signifikan melalui visual yang menarik dan interaktif. Canva juga memungkinkan penyajian konsep secara multirepresentasi, yang berkontribusi pada pemahaman materi yang lebih mendalam. Namun, tantangan tetap ada, termasuk keterbatasan kemampuan guru dalam mengoperasikan Canva dan keterjangkauan infrastruktur digital di beberapa sekolah.

Abstract

Media E-Book merupakan buku berbasis digital yang bersifat dinamis dapat mempermudah peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran di sekolah. Tujuan Penelitian mengevaluasi penggunaan  media E-Book pada materi sistem pencernaan. Disain penelitian dengan model pengembangan Research and Development (R&D) dengan jenis ADDIE. Riset ini menggunakan instrumen yaitu angket pengukuran media E-Book yang memiliki 3 konstrak, yaitu design produk, informasi yang dimuat, dan keefektifan produk. Penelitian yang dilakukan dengan melibatkan 7 orang guru Pakar(telah tersertifikasi) dari berbagai sekolah. Alat pengumpul untuk data yaitu dengan cara mengisi kuesioner secara online. Data yang diperolehsaat penilaian media dengan menggunakan instrumen tersebut merupakan data kuantitatif akan dianalisis dengan bantuan program SPSS versi 23. Hasil penelitian didapatkan dengan 3 konstruk memiliki rata-rata 3.97 pada kategori tinggi (baik). Dari penelitian diketahui bahwa media yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi syarat untuk digunakan dalam pengembangan media E-Book pada materi sistem peredaran darah bagi peserta didik. Sehingga, para stakeholder dan pendidik dapat menggunakan media yang telah dikembangkan dalam bentuk E-Book.

Abstract

Salah satu tantangan utama dalam pembelajaran di sekolah dasar adalah bagaimana mengajarkan konsep secara menarik dan mudah dipahami oleh siswa. Pembelajaran yang hanya berfokus pada hafalan cenderung kurang efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterlibatan siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas penggunaan kartu klasifikasi hewan berdasarkan jenis makanannya serta media digital seperti Wordwall dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa melalui pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). Metodologi penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan mixed method, di mana data kuantitatif diperkuat dengan data kualitatif.  Penelitian ini melibatkan 2 Guru IPA dan 30 siswa SD sebagai subjek penelitian. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi tes hasil belajar, observasi, dan wawancara.  Data dikumpulkan melalui pengamatan langsung serta penggunaan alat evaluasi berbasis digital, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif serta analisis wawancara untuk data kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum penggunaan kartu klasifikasi dan media Wordwall , hanya 42% siswa yang mampu mengidentifikasi jenis makanan hewan dengan benar. Setelah penerapan metode pembelajaran berbasis CTL, pemahaman siswa meningkat secara signifikan. Siswa yang mampu membedakan herbivora, karnivora, dan omnivora meningkat dari 32% menjadi 74%, kemampuan menghubungkan hewan dengan makanannya meningkat dari 48% menjadi 83%, serta pemahaman siswa dalam menjelaskan alasan di balik kebiasaan makan hewan meningkat dari 41% menjadi 76%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa penggunaan kartu klasifikasi hewan dan media interaktif seperti Wordwall dalam pembelajaran berbasis Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) dapat meningkatkan pemahaman, keterlibatan, dan hasil belajar siswa SD dalam mengenal jenis-jenis hewan berdasarkan makanannya. Dampak penelitian ini tidak hanya terlihat dari peningkatan pemahaman konseptual siswa, tetapi juga transformasi pengalaman belajar menjadi lebih menyenangkan dan memotivasi melalui pendekatan gamifikasi.

Abstract

One of the main problems in the world of education is the weak learning process. Learning in the classroom tends to only teach memorization of information without connecting it to applications in everyday life. The purpose of this research is to find out problems related to material that are considered difficult and how to solve these learning in physics learning at MTS. The methodology of this study uses a mixed method ? where quantitative data is then strengthened with qualitative data. In this study, 2 science teachers, 30 students of grade VII MTS. This study uses interview, observation, and questionnaire instruments. Data is collected by directly going down to the field and analyzed using descriptive analysis for quantitative and qualitative analysis of interview results so that the data obtained becomes comprehensive. The results showed that students had difficulty distinguishing principal and derivative quantities (60%), understanding unit conversions (70%), writing unit symbols correctly (50%), and using measuring tools (57%). After applying Canva-based experimental video media, there was an increase in students' understanding of physics concepts, with an increase in understanding of principal and derivative quantities from 40% to 80%, unit conversion from 30% to 75%, and skills using measuring tools from 43% to 78%. The conclusion of this study is that the use of Canva-based interactive media can be an effective solution in improving students' understanding of the concept of quantities and units, especially for schools that have limited laboratory facilities.

Abstract

Literacy culture in Indonesia is an exciting issue to discuss. Related to this matter, a current study aimed to improve the language literacy skills in elementary school students based on the Hybrid Learning media I-book. Various kinds of exercises based on language literacy are provided in the I-Book. Thus, its use can save money when buying books. In addition, students are enthusiastic about answering the practice questions in the I-Book because of its attractive and colorful appearance. In this case, the I-book is a medium that can be applied in hybrid learning education in language literacy. The research method used in this study was quasi-experimental in the form of a non-equivalent control group design. In this case, the samples were selected using purposive sampling. The two sample classes used were III A (control) and III B (experiment). The results of the effectiveness of the N-Gain pretest and posttest of student learning outcomes in the control class obtained 0.30 in the low category, while the experimental class obtained 0.57 in the medium category. Furthermore, the results of the independent t-test on sig. (2-tailed) obtained 0.047 <0.05, indicating a significant difference between the results of the control class and the experimental class learning process. The research results found that using the I-Book as a hybrid learning educational media in language literacy made it easier for teachers to improve the students' language literacy skills so that teachers and stakeholders can use the I-Book as a practical learning media. Pengaruh media I-book berbasis hybrid learning terhadap peningkatan literasi bahasa Budaya literasi di Indonesia menjadi persoalan yang sangat menarik untuk diperbincangkan. Berhubungan dengan hal ini, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk meningkat kemampuan literasi bahasa pada peserta didik di sekolah dasar dengan berbasis pada Hybrid Learning media I-book. Berbagai macam latihan berbasis literasi bahasa disediakan di dalam I-Book, sehingga penggunaannya dapat menghemat biaya membeli buku. Selain itu, siswa juga menjadi semangat mengerjakan latihan soal yang terdapat pada I-Book karena tampilannya yang menarik dan berwarna. Dalam hal ini, I-Book adalah media yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran hybrid pada literasi bahasa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah  metode eksperimen semu dalam bentuk nonequivalent control group design, di mana sampel penelitian diambil menggunakan purposive sampling. Dua kelas sampel yang digunakan adalah kelas III A (kontrol) III B (eksperimen). Hasil  efektifitas pretest  N-Gain  dan  posttest  hasil belajar siswa  pada  kelas  kontrol adalah 0.30 dengan kategori rendah, sedangkan kelas eksperimen mendapatkan 0,57 pada kategori sedang. Selain itu, hasil uji-t independent pada sig. (2-tailed) yang didapatkan adalah 0,047<0,05, yang berarti bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil kelas kontrol dan kelas   eksperimen. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan I-Book sebagai media edukasi hybrid learning pada literasi bahasa memudahkan guru dalam pembelajaran sehingga para guru dan stakeholder dapat menggunakan I-Book sebagai pembelajaran yang efektif

Abstract

This study is prompted by the low PISA scores in reading, math and science literacy. Science literacy is crucial to develop early when children are still in the foundation phase. The current Merdeka curriculum supports the development of science literacy. KB Tunas Harapan 1 Tunggunjagir rarely develops children's science literacy so that the phenomenon of low children's scientific literacy is found. The purpose of this study was to describe the process and results of applying the problem-based learning model to enhance children's science literacy skills at KB Tunas Harapan. This study is a classroom action research referring to the Kemmis and Mc Taggart model which consists of the stages of planning, action, observation and reflection. This research was conducted in 2 cycles where each cycle consisted of 6 meetings. The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed an increase in children's science literacy skills through the implementation of the problem-based learning model can be evidenced in the average pre-intervention score of 17.38 then increased in cycle I to 33.63 And in cycle 2 the average increase into 46.03 from the maximum score of 56.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and validate a guided inquiry-based student worksheet (LKPD) supported by WordPress and integrated with Islamic values for the circulatory system. The study used Research and Development with the Plomp model. This manuscript reports the expert-review stage of the prototyping phase. Three validators were selected purposively: one expert in teaching-material design, one expert in science/biology content, and one expert in Qur'anic exegesis and Hadith. Validation used domain-specific instruments consisting of 30, 26, and 17 items, respectively. Each item was rated on a four-point scale, analyzed as a percentage of the maximum score, and supplemented with qualitative comments for product revision. The teaching-material, subject-matter, and Islamic-values validation scores were 95.0%, 90.0%, and 92.5%, respectively, producing an overall mean of 92.5% in the very valid category. The lowest sub-aspect was the integration of Islamic values within the subject-matter instrument (75.0%), which prompted revisions to connect religious sources, scientific explanations, and reflection activities more coherently. The results indicate that the revised LKPD is sufficiently valid to proceed to practicality and effectiveness testing. The main limitation is that each domain was assessed by one expert; therefore, inter-rater agreement and learning outcomes were not examined.
