Abstract

The aim of the research was to improve students' ability in reading text by using metacognitive strategy. The subjects of the study was the first semester of the students of STIE ALWASHLIYAH SIBOLGA 2020.They were 30 students. The researcher provided a textual reading media with metacognitive strategy learning methods to help students know about the reading text so that students more active and understood and then the teaching and learning activities efficiently help the students and also more fun. This type of research is experimental research. The research design used is to use statistical groups. With the value of Ttest 124,103 while Ttable 2.0106, from these values we can conclude 1) Method of Metacognitive Strategy and media in reading text can improve students' ability in reading skills 2) Method of Metacognitive Strategy and media in reading text have an important role in improving the students’ abilityin reading skill. Keywords:        Reading, Metacognitive Strategy,Text

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji penerapan model pembelajaran dengan metode Iinquiry based- teaching untuk meningkatkan ketrampilan menulis mahasiswa , khususnya menulis recount text dalam Mata Kuliah Bahasa Inggris Bisnis. Writing skill merupakan hal yang sangat penting dalam teaching English learning process dan salah satu skill yang harus dikuasai oleh mahasiswa dalam mempelajari bahasa Inggris. Kenyataannya,mahasiswa sering mengalami kesulitan dan kurang tertarik dalam menulis recount text. Penyebabnya antara lain,kurangnya kosakata mahasiswa, dan media pembelajaran yang tidak interaktif.Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis dengan menggunakan metode pemebelajaran yang menarik dalam proses belajar mengajar dikelas yaitu dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran Inquiry based-teaching. Inquiry-based Teaching (IBT) adalah suatu metode pembelajaran yang melibatkan siswa secara intensif untukuntuk mengajukan pertanyaan atau permasalahan, mengajukan hipotesis, melakukan observasi atau investigasi, menganalisis data, dan menarik simpulan, serta menjelaskan temuannya itu kepada orang lain. Jawaban yang diharapkan atas pertanyaan tersebut tidak bersifat tunggal tetapi jamak. Hasil pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris khususnya writing dengan mengimplementasikan Inquiry based-teaching semeater I pada prodi Manajemen menunjukkan peningkatan dalam siklus I dan II. Data kuantitatif penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan Inquiry-based Teaching dalam pembelajaran penulisan teks meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menulis. Hasil nilai rerata mahasiswa sebelum siklus I dilaksanakan adalah 67.59, meningkat menjadi 78 di akhir siklus I, dan meningkat kembali menjadi 90 di akhir siklus II mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran Writing II menunjukkan peningkatan nilai rerata dari pre test, post test siklus I dan post test siklus II. menunjukkan peningkatan nilai yang diperoleh mahasiswa dinilai berdasarkan struktur dan organisasi teks berdasarkan kemampuan dalam logical development of ideas.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of incentives and bonuses on employee morale in CU cooperatives. Dosnitahi Pinangsori, Central Tapanuli Regency. This research uses a type of quantitative descriptive research. the research data is normally distributed because the histogram graph is in the shape of a bell, on the P-P plot graph you can see the distribution of data close to the diagonal line and the results of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistical test show a sig value greater than 0.05, which means that all data used in this study is distributed normal. From the multicollinearity test, it is known that the tolerance value is <0.1 and the variance inflation factor (VIF) value is <10. It can be concluded that the regression model found a correlation between independent variables. From the heteroscedasticity test it is known that the distribution of the dots does not form a specific pattern and the dots spread above and below the zero on the Y axis, it can be stated that there is no heteroscedasticity problem. The results of the multiple regression test obtained Y = 11,023 + 0.166 + 0.636 X. This means that the effect of the dependent variable (work morale) is determined by the independent variable (incentives and bonuses) with a regression coefficient of 0.166 and 0.636 where if one unit of X variable or value is added certain then the variable Y (work enthusiasm) will also increase multiplied by that certain value. From the t test, it is obtained that the calculated t value of incentives and bonuses is greater than the t table value and from the F test it is obtained that the calculated F value is greater than the F table value. Based on the results of the t and ji F tests obtained, it can be concluded that the hypothesis proposed in this study can be "accepted". Keywords: incentives, bonuses, and morale

Abstract

The researcher made this paper based on my discourse analysis to the song “My Heart Will Go On” as the theme of Titanic. It was interesting to analyze this song because the researcher really like the movie (Titanic) of which this song’s as the theme. The objective of this research was to know what the main idea or information from this song whether it is appropriate with the story of this movie or not. It was a descriptive qualitative method and it used the semantic approach to analyze the song lyrics. In order the researcher can understand the meaning of the song easily, first, translating the song lyrics into Indonesian, then trying to understand the meaning of each word in this song, next, analyzing the social and cultural context of the song. The researcher also tried to give a personal response to the song based on opinion to the movie generally and to the song specifically. It is a good song. This song is really about true love. The Titanic movie gave people a stereotype every time listened to this song they would imagine that the song is from Rose for jack, her true love. The content of this song is all about love. Love did not disappear although one of them was died. They would meet and see each other in her dream every night. It seems to be impossible, but it shows us what a powerful the true love is. “My Heart Will Go On” tells us the different point of view. In this song, true love can not disappear, it’s forever in her heart.
