<![CDATA[Bank performance is a very important and significant picture for the parties with an interest in the bank. The parties with an interest in the bank include investors, creditors, customers, employees, government and the surrounding community. Given the large number of interested parties, the assessment of bank performance is very important. Bank performance is assessed based on how company management carries out all of its duties. Bank health is one of the factors that must be considered by both conventional and sharia banks in order to survive. This paper aims to compare the financial performance of Islamic banking with conventional banking in the third quarter of 2020 during the Covid 19 pandemic using the ROA financial ratio.]]>

<![CDATA[This research discusses hatred of the characters based on Agatha Christie's novel "Appointment with Death”. Hatred of the characters to the protagonist of this novel. That is mrs. Boynton is the study of this writing. She is a sadist, happy to see someone suffer because of her actions. It gives a great pleasure for her. However, hatred comes to her from the people around such as, her children, her daughter-in-law and her colleagues. In the end of this story, Mrs. Boynton gets a final result of her attitude. She is killed by a person who has become a victim of Mrs. Boynton's brutality. The analysis is focused on hatred in Agatha Christie Novel “Appointment with Death”. The analysis covers only hatred of the main characters. This research uses descriptive qualitative method to an analysis of the hatred reflected in agatha christie's novel "appointment with death".]]>

<![CDATA[This thesis analyzes the novel entitled Rainshadow Road by Lisa Kleypas. The purpose of this study is to describe the romance formulas that exist in popular literary novels. In analyzing this thesis, the process of searching for data and information uses library and journal methods from the internet. The theory that guides the work of this thesis is the theory of popular romance literature by John G. Cawelti. The results of the analysis show that the novel contains elements of the characters and the plot of the romance is built into a romance formula.]]>

<![CDATA[This research discusses the responsibility depicted in Steven Piziks’ Exorcist: The Beginning. This responsibility is described trough the role of one of the main characters, chuma, pertaining to this close relation to his boss, Merrin.The analysis is divide into two sections i.e. responsibility for duty and responsibility for friendship. The former is related with the discussion on how Chuma works with Merrin, and whatever he does that gradually gives rise into the beginning of their friendship. The former describes more about the enternal friendship between Chuma and Merrin. This results indicate that the responsibility in a working circumstance could bring about an1 everlasting friendship between a boss and his worker. Then, Chuma as Merrin subordinate and close friend fights to defend Merrin from a Turkana soldier’s attack that it finally takes Chuma's life. This description, therefore, shows a friend in need is a friend indeed.]]>

<![CDATA[The objectives of the study were to investigate whether any significant difference in the improvement of students’ ability in story retelling using animation movie and without using animation movie. The total number of populations were 150 students. The sample in this study was 20 students. The researcher carried out an experimental study using statistical method called t-test. The researcher used two groups: experiment group and control group. In the control group the researcher used written text story, while in the experiment group, the researcher used animation movie. The data showed that the mean score of pre-test in experimental class was 73.5, while the mean score of pre-test in control group class was 74. Meanwhile, the mean score of post-test in experimental class was 78.1, and the mean score of post-test in control group class was 74.8. The statistical analysis showed that the minimum gained score of experimental class was 3 and the minimum gained score of control group class was 0. While, the highest gained score of experimental class was 8 and control group class was 2. The average gained score of experimental class was 4.6, and for control group class were 0.8. It can be concluded that the students’ speaking skill in experimental class that were given by the treatment through animation movie were improved more effectively than the control group.]]>

<![CDATA[Aktivitas pembelajaran terhadap siswa di taman kanak-kanak hendaknya dilaksanakan untuk memberikan pemahaman bagi siswa melalui pengalaman nyata yang memungkinkan mereka untuk menunjukkan aktivitas dan rasa ingin tahu secara optimal. Manfaat keberhasilan pembelajaran dapat lebih dirasakan apabila yang diperoleh siswa dari pembelajaran dapat diimplementasikan dalam kehidupan mereka sehari-hari. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh para guru di RA Ulfa Khairuna adalah berkaitan dengan kurangnya pemahaman para guru terhadap model pembelajaran yang mampu mengaitkan materi yang diajarkan dengan lingkungan. Beberapa guru merasa kesulitan dalam menumbuhkan sikap para siswa agar lebih peduli terhadap lingkungannya melalui materi pembelajaran yang disampaikan khususnya materi bahasa Inggris, seperti mengajarkan mereka agar mampu menjaga kebersihan dengan tidak membuang sampah sembarangan dan mengucapkan salam ketika masuk ruang kelas. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut tim pengabdian UMN Al Washliyah memutuskan untuk melaksanakan kegiatan PKM terhadap guru-guru di RA Ulfa Khairuna. Rencana kegiatan PKM tersebut dilaksanakan dengan memberikan pelatihan kepada para guru tentang model pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis pelestarian alam dan budaya islami. Model pembelajaran tersebut diharapkan mampu membantu para guru dalam menyampaikan materi pembelajaran agar lebih dekat dengan alam dan sekaligus mampu berperan dalam melestarikan budaya islami. Pembelajaran kontekstual sendiri mampu mendorong anak untuk menemukan hubungan antara materi yang dipelajarinya dengan kehidupan nyata, artinya anak dituntut untuk dapat menangkap hubungan antara pengalaman yang didapat di sekolah dengan kehidupan nyata. Tutorial dan diskusi dilakukan sebagai metode untuk menjelaskan dan membimbing para guru di RA Ulfa Khairuna dalam memahami model pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis pelestarian alam dan budaya islami tersebut. Hasil analisis angket yang diberikan kepada peserta pengabdian tersebut menunjukan bahwa 50% peserta pengabdian sangat memahami materi pelatihan, 30% cukup, dan 20% kurang memahami.]]>

<![CDATA[This research analyzes the extrinsic elements and human rights principles in the novel. The Hate U Give is a novel about a teenager who suffered from discrimination as part of African American community. This research shown the treatment of human rights principles violations and strong relationship between the writer and her literature work. The purpose of this research is first, to identify extrinsic element in the novel. Second, to analyze human rights practice done by society in this novel. This study uses extrinsic approach by Warren and Wellek (1956). The method used is descriptive qualitative method to analyze the data in this research. The data sources are taken from the quotes in the novel. The finding in the research are first, this novel is a motivation of the writer to spread awareness about her childhood memory. Second, human rights principles are violated such as universality and inalienability, participation and inclusion, indivisibility, accountability and rule of law, lastly equality and non-discrimination.]]>

<![CDATA[The objective of the study was to investigate The Improving Students’ Vocabulary By Using fiction Movie. The population of the study was the second year of the students of STIE Alwashliyah Sibolga in 2021/2022 academic year, the total number of students was 80 students. The sample consist of two classes, there were 40 students of II A as an control group and II B as a experimental group. The method of the study was quantitative research with pre-experimental approach. The instrument used in this researcher was a vocabulary. The pre-test and post-test were administrated. Based on the calculation, the mean score of pre-test was 76.75 and mean of post-test was 9575. So, it could be stated that the hypothesis “Improving Students’ Vocabulary By Using Fiction Movie. Based on the result, it could be concluded that there was an improvement of the English vocabulary students through fiction Movie.]]>

<![CDATA[One of the prospective investment facilities is property and real estate so that investors are interested in investing their funds in these businesses. The limited supply of land and buildings as the population increases and demand increases, land and real estate prices rise every year thereby increasing the welfare of shareholders by increasing the value of the company. However, the increase is inversely proportional to the value of the company. The purpose of this research is to see profitability, leverage, company size influence or not on firm value with CSR as a moderating variable. Sampling method with purposive sampling method. The data analysis method used is multiple linear regression analysis and moderating regression analysis (MRA). The results of this study indicate that partially profitability and firm size have a positive and significant effect on firm value while leverage has no positive and insignificant effect on firm value. And CSR as a moderating variable cannot moderate the relationship between profitability, leverage and firm size on firm value]]>
