Abstract

The research aims to identify the insects in rice plants in the district Pilangkenceng and Kare Madiun. Research method using qualitative descriptive and in accordance with what is on the field. Data were collected by observation. Insects captured in two ways: directly and using flay arrest of the net. The results showed that the insects found in rice plant in the district of Pilangkenceng order Orthoptera, Hemiptera, Odonata, Hymenoptera, Lepidoptera, Coleoptera and Diptera. Insects found in the District of Kare consists of the Order Orthoptera, Odonata, Lepidoptera, Coleoptera and Homoptera. Keywords: insect diversity, identification, Oryza sativa L.

Abstract

Hasil belajar mahasiswa pada matakuliah Biologi Sel masih relatif rendah karena proses pelaksanaan pembelajaran berpusat pada pendidik dan mahasiswa merasa sulit untuk memahami materi yang disampaikan oleh dosen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan jurnal belajar sebagai alat dalam upaya meningkatkan pemahaman konsep mahasiswa pada matakuliah Biologi Sel. Penelitian dilakukan pada mahasiswa semester II Prodi Pendidikan Biologi IKIP PGRI Madiun sebanyak 53 mahasiswa (26 mahasiswa untuk kelas 2A) dan (27 mahasiswa untuk kelas 2B). Pelaksanaan penelitian dilakukan selama tiga kali tatap muka dari matakuliah Biologi sel KD 1-3. Data yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini berupa data keterlaksanaan STAD, data jurnal belajar dan data pemahaman konsep. Data pemahaman konsep didapatkan dengan pemberian pertanyaan kuis di akhir pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan jurnal belajar mengalami peningkatan dari pertemuan I sebesar 13,32 meningkat menjadi 13,42 pada pertemuan II dan III, dan terdapat peningkatan nilai kuis dari tiap KD pada kategori sedang dan rendah. Students’ learning outcomes were still relatively low at Celluler Biology Subject because the implementation process of learning was centered on lecturer and stundents found it difficult to understand the subject material. This study aimed to determine the application of learning journal as a tool in the effort to increase students understanding of Celluler Biology concept. The study was conducted at 53 second semester stundents (26 students for class 2A and 27 students for class 2B) of Biology Education Program Study of PGRI Teachers Training College, Madiun. The study was conducted during three meetings for KD 1-3 (Kompetensi Dasar=Basic Competence) of Celluler Biology Subject. The collected data were the implemented STAD data, the learning journal data and the concept understanding data. The concept understanding data were obtained by giving the quiz questions at the end of learning. The study result showed that the learning with implementation of learning journal increased from first meeting at 13.32 became 13.42 at meeting II and III, and there was the increase of quiz value from each KD on both medium and low categories.

Abstract

Syntetic estrogen hormone is commonly used by women by and in their menopause cycle to overcome the problems related to menopause. Women make use of this syntetic estrogen hormone for a reason that it is easy to get, cheap and its easy application. This syntetic estrogen hormone can eventually result in side-effects. Powder of tempe has become the natural stuff with isoflavon, a chemical blend which is sturcturally fit to estrogen hormone. The objective of this research was to measure the effect of tempe starch towards the endometrium uterus of mice. The research applied experimental approach with completely randomized design with one factor of the dossage of tempe starch by 0.2 g/kg, 0.4 g/kg, and 0.6g/kg. The samples were 24 female mice of 12 months, which were divided into 4 groups of treatment with 6 times of application. The tempe powder was applied for 24 days. Surgery was was done on the 25th day. Histology of uterus was made under colouring technique of Hematoxilin Eosin (HE). The results showed that there were miometrium uterus and uterine gland proliferation. Based on the result, can be concluded that tempe powder can be used as natural estrogen.

Abstract

The practical manual is a guide for experimental activities needed in laboratory learning, based on the concept of the scientific method. The current practicum manual is structured textually so that it does not direct students in formulating problems. The purpose of the study was to compile a practicum manual based on the results of the research. Descriptive research method, with procedures for compiling a practicum manual from the results of research that has been carried out. The structure of the practicum manual is in accordance with the practicum manual, accompanied by pictures of research results. Validation by two validators, namely material expert validator and learning media expert. The data collection technique was carried out using a feasibility questionnaire instrument for practicum guidelines. The analysis of the validation results was carried out descriptively. The results of the validation of the preparation of the practicum manual with a feasibility level of 79.1% on the aspect of material validity and 84.21% on the validity of the media with good criteria.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe module is expressed as a complete learning resource package consisting of a series of learning processes. The module is also a source of teaching materials that make it easier for students to achieve learning goals. Research-based modules are needed to improve student learning outcomes. Research-based modules make students achieve the criteria for completeness. The type of research used is research and development (Research & Development) with the ADDIE approach model. The small-scale test subjects are fourth semester students of the Biology Education Study Program, PGRI Madiun University who have taken the Microbiology course. The instruments used are initial needs questionnaires, material and media validation questionnaires and small-scale test questionnaires for students. The percentage of results from the validation of material microbiologists is 80.5%, media expert validation is 91% and for small-scale tests 91%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the mycorbiology module based on the antibacterial test of the genitry plant (Elaeocarpus sphaericus) is valid and feasible to be used as teaching material in microbiology courses.Keyword: Module, Research base, Research & Development, ADDIE

Abstract

Background: Genitri (Elaeocarpus ganitrus) is a local plant, growing well in tropical forests. Genitri seeds are used as jewelry. Utilization of genitri in the health sector is still lacking. Objectif: To analyze the potential of genitri leaves on the leukocyte profile and splenic histopathology of Wistar rats. Methods: Experimental true approach, using experimental male wistar rats aged 5-6 months, weighing 280-360 grams, totaling 24 rats. Experimental animals were placed in group cages at 27oC, 12 hours of light, fed and watered ad libitum. Acclimatization was carried out 7 days before treatment. Treatment P0 (negative control), P1 induced influenza virus (Vaxigrip trivalent) 0.5 ml (positive control), P2 induced influenza virus 0.5 ml and 1 gram of genitri leaves. Induction of virus from intramuscular vaccine. Induction was carried out on day 0 and day 14. Genitri leaves were administered using the oral gavage method on the 3rd day for 29 days. On the 33rd day, blood sampling was carried out through the heart and surgery and spleen retrieval. Total leukocyte count using a hemocytometer. Histopathologically examined using hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining. Results: The total leukocyte count on the 19th day, P0 4263.82 cells/mm3, P1 6314.46 cells/mm3, P2 8443.72 cells/mm3. Total leukocytes on day 33, P0 4241.66 cells/mm3, P1 4983.33 cells/mm3, P2 7520.83 cells/mm3. Diameter of germinal center spleen on day 19, P0 231 nm, P1 186 nm, P2 202 nm. Germinal center diameter on day 33, P0 239 nm, P1 191 nm, P2 242 nm. Tissue structure of the P1 spleen was congested and haemorrhagic, the structure of the spleen P2 had leukocyte infiltration, the marginal zone and germinal center were thickened. Conclusion: genitri leaves can increase the number of leukocytes and the diameter of the splenic germinal center of Wistar rats .

Abstract

Abstrak Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) merupakan bahan ajar dengan struktur perumusan masalah, penyusunan hipotesis, dan penyelesaian tugas. Lembar Kerja Siswa saat ini disusun secara tekstual, sehingga kemandirian, kreativitas berpikir, dan keterampilan saintifik kurang optimal. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menyusun LKS berdasarkan hasil penelitian. Metode penelitian diskriptif kualitatif dengan prosedur penyusunan LKS sesuai sistematika LKS. Tahap pertama adalah tahap perumusan tujuan kegiatan. Tahap kedua adalah penyusunan materi dalam LKS, berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan. Tahap ketiga adalah tahap validasi ahli. Tahap keempat adalah evaluasi berdasarkan saran dan komentar validator. Tahap validasi ahli materi dan validasi ahli media. Hasil validasi ahli materi 87,5% dengan kategori sangat layak.
