Abstract

Abstract

Fishing vessels used to catch resources from the sea has to pass some of the regulations from International Maritime Organization for sea-worthiness of the vessel especially about stability, resistance to acquire the highest velocity, and the vessel’s motion. This research discusses the effect of the vessel’s dimension and the hull shape by using the stability standard from IMO.The result shows that the ratio of the B/T which meets the stability criteria is 2.50 with the ratio of KG/H of the vessel is 0.65, with the assumption that the KG and H of the vessel are more than 0.70. Whereas if the resistance ratio B/T is big, the resistance for the vessel will be relatively smaller. In terms of the vessel motion, a vessel with a V-type hull will better than a U-type hull in seakeeping.

Abstract

In Indonesia, many fishing vessels are made from generation to generation in a traditional way. As a result, the ships built did not comply with the regulations and permits of the naval architects. The fishing industry is one of the most dangerous because it works on the high seas. Therefore the performance in hydrodynamics and safety should be evaluated on these traditional vessels. The main objective of this research is to evaluate the hydrodynamic performance and safety of fishing vessels. Following standard specifications or criteria, seakeeping performance is evaluated using Maxsurf Ship Design software. Assessment of existing safety equipment uses IMO (International Maritime Organization) regulations and the Torremolinos protocol. As a result, the ship can only operate at a wave height of 0,1-0,5 meters or undersea state 3. Ship safety inspections reveal that they still do not meet the required requirements and do not have the necessary equipment specified by the World Maritime Organization (IMO).

Abstract

FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) is a moving floating structure to accommodate petroleum exploration results with a frequently used mooring system, namely spread mooring. To make it easier for the FPSO ship to not be able to rotate or even move when loading and unloading due to environmental influences, a spread mooring mooring system is needed with analysis of the mooring stress and anchor lifting force that occurs on the FPSO ship. To determine the anchor lifting power and tension on the mooring, the RAO formula is needed using the Jonswap method, which will give RAO results in response to environmental influences. In this case, the Jonswap method is used to determine matters related to the RAO response to environmental factors by analyzing the FPSO ship model from Maxsurf software, then continuing the analysis using Ansys software. From the RAO response we get the mooring tension and anchor lifting power to the influence of environmental forces. The results of the mooring spread analysis obtained the highest stress value of 6.141 x 105 N, with an anchor lifting force of 4.717 x 103 N.

Abstract

Based on the provisions made by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), turning ability and zig-zag maneuvers are the main criteria for safety standards for every ship that will sail. This decree was made as an effort to improve sailing skills, especially for ship crew. Calculation of the turning ability of a ship is greatly influenced by the design of the ship's hull and the design of the rudder that will be used on the ship. So the analysis of turning circles and zig-zag maneuvers is the main point that will be carried out in this research. The research was carried out on cast net vessels anchored at the Muara Angke fishing port with the vessel size taken being 60 GT. The standard provisions used in the analysis of turning ability and zig-zag maneuver are based on IMO MSC 137 (76) with the main size of the vessel used as the main research material is LOA=25.7 m, LPP =22.2 m, B=7 m, H=2.3 m, T=1.7 m. With the results obtained by the movement of the fishing vessel which meets standardization based on IMO MSC 137 (76) 2002, the turning circle maneuver has a Tactical Diameter of 46.07 m, with an Advanced value of 56.23 m, with a heading transfer value of 24.48 m, the zig-zag maneuver meets the IMO standard criteria stated for angels 10°/10° and 20°/20° do not exceed 30 seconds

Abstract

In the construction of independent tanks (spherical) must be related to welding. Welding itself has a very important role in the process of connecting steel plates. The aims of the research is to determine the effect of the presence or absence of preheat and PWHT on welding and uses ASTM A 516 grade 60 steel material, where the material is commonly used for the construction of tanks or pressure vessels. The steel material is welded by the SMAW (shield metal arc welding) welding process with several different welding variables, one of which is given the preheat and post weld heat treatment (PWHT) variables and the other is not given these variables. Then the material will be tested mechanically, such as bending test, tensile test, and impact test under low temperature conditions (-20oC). The method used in this research is experimental. From the results of the tests will be known the value of tensile strength and energy absorbed. In the welding test specimen with preheat and PWHT variables, an opening of 1.68 mm was obtained, with an average tensile strength value of 523 N/mm2, and an average energy value of 205.15 J. While in the specimen without preheat and PWHT variables, the opening was obtained. of 1.21 mm, with an average tensile strength value of 473.5 N/mm2, and an average energy value of 46.7 J.

Abstract

Estimate the ship’s weight steel is very important before pre-design. This is useful to ensure that the ship's weight does not exceed the basic design requested by the owner. 3D modeling is made in order to shorten the work time and produce a more precise calculation of the weight of the ship compared using mathematical calculations. The study compares the ship weight by using a mathematical method and using the 3D modelling method using autodesk inventor software. The result of the estimation of the weight of the ship’s steel cargo hold construction using 3D modelling method for the block system. It was found that the calculation of the weight of steel using the autodesk inventor method has a fairly good difference with the mathematical method. Calculation with 3D modelling autodesk inventor has a total steel weight of 255,077 tons and 259,868 tons for the mathematical method. The difference in autodesk inventor result is 4,791 tons or 1,84% less than the ship’s weight steel mathematical method. The result of the ship’s steel weight being smaller due to several factor that are not included in 3D modelling and the completeness of drawing, because the more detailed the modeled drawing, will be smaller the difference in the ship’s weight steel produced. Total estimation cost of the modeled cargo holds grandblock with matematical methods Rp.2.235.543.621. while the total cost of using 3D modelling auotdesk inventor Rp.2.298.621..

Abstract

Indonesia's natural resources which are one of the sources of income for the Indonesian state, namely from the results of oil and gas management, subsea is one of the processes of exploring oil and natural gas which is increasing, with all the practicalities of technology and also the system it has and operational costs that are fairly cheap. Infield Umbilical Termination is one part of the subsea processing, which functions as a terminal for connecting electricity under the sea, therefore a construction is needed to protect the system from the Infield Umbilical Termination, known as the subsea structure so that it is protected from disturbances while in the sea. The construction process will never be separated from the activity called lifting. Padeye is an item to help lifting activities. the construction of the padeye plays a very important role when lifting is in progress because it is necessary to test the structural strength of the padeye. with the help of the finite element method, from the analysis results obtained the value of the structure experienced by the padeye at an angle of 45 degrees obtained the maximum stress value of 131.835 Mpa, Strain of 0.000433 mm, Displacement of 0.12 mm, Factor Of Safety 1149.413 and for an angle of 60 degrees obtained a stress value of 73.628 Mpa. Strain 0.000244, Displacement 0.0661 and Factor Of Safety 3.237. From the two stress values, the padeye structure can be declared safe, because it has not exceeded the yield strength value of the material of 345 MPa.
