Abstract

Mathematics learning, particularly on the topic of volume and surface area of polyhedrons, remains challenging due to students' limited conceptual understanding and the lack of concrete instructional media. This study aimed to develop a rotating wheel teaching aid that meets the criteria of validity, practicality, Universitas Nurul Jadid, Indonesia and effectiveness for Grade IX students at MTs Tarbiyatul Islamiyah. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the Four-D (4D) model, consisting of the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. The product was tested on 10 ninth-grade students. Data were collected through validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and learning achievement tests, and were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The results showed that the developed teaching aid achieved a validation score of 4.02 (very valid), while the student response questionnaire and achievement test obtained validation scores of 3.05 and 3.02, respectively (valid). The practicality of the media was indicated by an average student response score of 3.56 (high), whereas its effectiveness was demonstrated by an average learning achievement score of 9 4 with a classical learning mastery of 80% (8 out of 10 students). Therefore, the rotating wheel teaching aid is considered valid, practical, and effective for teaching the volume and surface area of polyhedrons.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan teknologi memiliki peran penting sebagai sarana pendukung dalam proses pembelajaran serta sebagai bentuk inovasi dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi dan informasi ke dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Salah satu inovasi pembelajaran berbasis teknologi yang efektif adalah penggunaan Kahoot, yaitu aplikasi pembelajaran berbasis permainan yang mampu meningkatkan keaktifan dan keterlibatan peserta didik. Namun, pada lingkungan mitra masih ditemukan keterbatasan pengetahuan dan keterampilan pendidik dalam mengenal, menggunakan, serta memanfaatkan teknologi sebagai media pembelajaran.Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses dan hasil pelatihan pemanfaatan media Kahoot sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif bagi guru di SMPI Ar-Rofi’iyyah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif yang dilaksanakan dalam bentuk kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PkM). Data diperoleh melalui observasi, angket respon peserta, dan dokumentasi kegiatan, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa guru memperoleh peningkatan keterampilan dalam menggunakan media pembelajaran digital, khususnya Kahoot, sebagai sarana evaluasi pembelajaran berbasis permainan. Pemanfaatan Kahoot mampu menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan antusias serta membantu guru dalam menilai tingkat pemahaman siswa terhadap materi yang disampaikan

Abstract

Because there was little contextual and engaging teaching materials, and students’ understanding of the material on quadratic equations was still low because of its abstract content, students’ motivation in learning this material was low. The purpose of this study was to create a mathematics learning module utilizing Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) for learning quadratic equations in the IX grade of junior high school and to find out the validity and feasibility of the learning module. This research was conducted in the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model, with the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects of the research were two validators, namely material validator and design validator and 17 students of the IX grade class of SMP Islam Nurul Hikmah Besuki. Research instruments used were validation quesnationnaries and questionnaries that were presented to the students. The results indicated that the developed module had material expert validity percentage of 81,67% and design expert validity percentage of 83,33%, both of which were very valid. Furthermore, the result of the practical test was 90,59% with very practical category. Based on the findings of this study, it can be proposed that the RME based module for the material quadratic equations is suitable to be applied in mathematics learning.
