Abstract

Concentration is a vital element in achieving academic achievement, especially for elementary school students who are experiencing cognitive development. Concentration problems cause students to struggle to grasp the information, which affects their academic performance overall. This study aims to determine whether traditional corporal games help primary school pupils become more adept at focusing. The research methodology was applied with a quantitative approach through a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample utilizes the total number of grade VI students of SD Negeri Gayam 1 as many as 20 students. Data testing was carried out using the Concentration Grid Exercise test. Data interpretation was carried out using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and paired sample t-test using SPSS software version 30. The study's findings showed an increase in the average concentration score from 4.25 to 6.75 after 12 meeting sessions, an increase of 58.82%. The results of the t-test showed a significant difference after treatment, with a Sig. (2-tailed) value of < 0.001. Thus, the traditional game of Corporal has a positive impact in helping students concentrate more. The small number of samples is the main limitation in the research carried out and the relatively short treatment, so the ability of these findings to be applied widely is still limited. Therefore, the research after that is directed to apply with a larger number of samples, extend the duration of treatment, and combine traditional games with other active learning methods to obtain more comprehensive results.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of shadow training on volleyball smash ability among extracurricular participants at MTs Islamiyah Temayang. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 19 male students selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument was a volleyball smash ability test that had established validity and reliability. The research procedure included a pretest, the implementation of shadow training over several sessions, and a posttest. Data analysis techniques involved descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, and hypothesis testing using a paired sample t-test assisted by SPSS version 30. The results showed an improvement in smash ability after the implementation of shadow training, as indicated by an increase in the mean score from 8.95 to 12.42. The normality test results indicated that the data were normally distributed (Sig. > 0.05), thus meeting the assumptions for parametric testing, while the paired sample t-test results showed a significance value of < 0.001 (p < 0.05) with a t-value of -6.979, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results. These findings demonstrate that shadow training is effective as an alternative training method in improving volleyball smash ability through enhancing movement coordination, timing, and structured technical mastery, although the improvement was not evenly distributed among all participants. Therefore, this study provides practical contributions for coaches and physical education teachers in developing effective training models that align with the characteristics of madrasah-level students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of awareness, use, perception, and adoption factors of wearable technology among physical education students in supporting physical activity. The study used a descriptive quantitative approach through an online survey of 48 students with a 14-item questionnaire instrument covering aspects of knowledge, experience of use, motivation, perceived benefits, obstacles, and readiness to adopt the technology. The results showed that 62.5% of respondents had sufficient understanding of wearable technology, but only 14.6% actively used it, while 62.5% had never used it, indicating a gap between awareness and use. The most recognized wearable features include step counters, heart rate monitors, sleep trackers, activity reminders, and GPS tracking. Perceptions of the benefits of wearables tended to be positive, with 62.5% of respondents rating them as important or very important in sports activities, and 66.7% feeling motivated to be more physically active. In addition, 89.6% of respondents acknowledged that wearables help objectively monitor performance, and 72.9% supported their integration into physical education learning. However, technology adoption remains hampered by economic and accessibility factors, with 52.1% of respondents citing price as the primary barrier and 25% citing limited device availability. Despite this, 43.8% of respondents were willing to participate in training, and 52.1% expressed potential interest. These findings suggest that wearable technology has significant potential to increase physical activity awareness through real-time feedback and objective monitoring. However, implementation requires a comprehensive strategy that includes increasing access, training, and gradual curriculum integration.
