Abstract

Mathematics learning during the COVID-19 pandemic was initially carried out online or based on a network (online). However, as time goes by where the spread of COVID-19 is getting smaller, mathematics learning is carried out face-to-face directly by paying attention to health protocols called offline or off-network-based learning. Therefore, teachers need to know the current student's learning motivation which is taught off-network-based learning. Therefore, an analysis of student motivation in off-network-based creative mathematics learning was carried out by giving a questionnaire to the seventh-grade students of SMP Dharma Wanita Medan, amounting to 27 people as research subjects. This research was conducted in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 Academic Year. While the object of this research is student learning motivation with six indicators, namely responsibility, trying to excel, liking challenges, independence, fortitude, and tenacity. This research is a qualitative-research with descriptive method. The results of this study stated that students' motivation in off-network-based creative mathematics learning was good.

Abstract

The purpose of this quantitative research with correlational design is to determine whether there is independent learning with learning motivation in online-based mathematics learning. So, it can support the success of learning process. This study was conducted in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 Academic Year. All seventh-grade students of SMP Santo Yoseph Medan were used as the research population. While the samples of this study were all students of class VII-A who collected 30 people and all students of class VII-B who collected 31 people. In mathematics learning, all students are taught online through the Zoom cloud meeting platform, WhatsApp, and Google Classroom. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique. The study instruments is a learning independence questionnaire and student learning motivation questionnaire. The results of the questionnaire were analyzed based on product moment correlation data. Data analysis of the research results showed sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05 so that there is a significant relationship between learning independence and students' learning motivation in online-based mathematics learning with a value of 0.433 including the category of moderate correlation.

Abstract

Learning during the COVID-19 period is a concern in the world of education. This is because the learning system has changed from the previous one and it has not been used by both students and teachers. In response to this, it is necessary to conduct action research using the Kemmis and McTaggart models on online-onsite mathematics learning, namely boldly through online platforms and the request of students. The subjects of this study were seventh-grade junior high school students who found 27 people. In contrast, the object of this research is to increase students’ creative problem-solving skills and increase teacher activity and student behaviour. Through the instruments used in online-onsite based learning, the results show that there is an increase in the percentage of classical learning completeness in creative problem-solving abilities of students who pass the minimum KKM in the 1st cycle from the percentage of initial ability results but have not shown achievement. While the results of observations of student behaviour and teacher activities meet the criteria achieved. Therefore, it is continued to cycle II by correcting the weakness in cycle I. The implementation of cycle II shows that all performance indicators have been achieved. Through these results, of course, it is a consideration that in improving problem-solving skills, it is recommended to do online-onsite based learning, especially in mathematics.

Abstract

Tahap pelaksanaan yaitu melaksanakan pembelajaran Matematika berbasis konstruktivsme.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' difficulties in solving numerical patterns in the context of the Toba Batak ethnic culture after the implementation of the Realistics Mathematic Education Approach in the context of the Toba Batak Tribe Culture. Subjects in this study were students of class VIII Junior High School (SMP) totaling 32 people. The data collection tool used in this study is a test that totals ten questions in the form of a description. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection techniques are carried out by tests, observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques were carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results showed that students had difficulty determining the sequence of numbers, determining the configuration of a sequence of numbers, determining the arithmetic series, determining the number of n first arithmetic series terms, determining the first term n row geometry, and determine the number of n first terms of the geometry series. The causal factor is that students are not able to distinguish the general formula concept of a sequence and the concept of configuration patterns from a sequence of numbers, operating error calculations and not understanding integer ranks.

Abstract

Literacy ability can be understood as the ability to analyze information in the form of text, while numeracy ability is understood as the ability to analyze information in the form of numbers. Both of these abilities help improve one's ability to draw conclusions from the information read. The current rapid development of science and technology really helps students to increase literacy-numeracy more quickly if it can be utilized and developed in learning at school. Some of the things that cause low literacy-numeration skills include low interest in reading, reading is only for learning but not to understand the reading, writing is read only without understanding the reading. Therefore, this training clinic provides fun learning in an effort to improve technology- and game-based literacy. Activities carried out: 1) Explanation of numeracy literacy material which aims to provide information and introduction to students what is meant by numeracy literacy. 2) Discussions discuss and solve numeracy literacy questions, 3) play indoors, this activity is a game using numbers or mathematical calculations but while playing, 4) Outdoor play activities are also learning while playing to improve students' numeracy literacy by hone students' mathematical abilities but still while playing, 5) Using technology by giving quizzes through the quiziz application even though students still have to be guided in using cellphones to complete the quizzes given. Based on these activities, student responses were obtained, including 59% of students' interest in reading increased and 58% of students' interest in learning mathematics experienced an increase after participating in clinical activities to improve numeracy literacy skills based on technology and games.

Abstract

This research aims to find out whether the implementation of the Numbered Head Together type cooperative learning model can improve students' mathematical collaboration abilities in class VII of Santa Lusia Sei Rotan Middle School. This research method uses Classroom Action Research (PTK). The research procedure is cyclical. Each cycle consists of 4 stages, namely: planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. Data collection techniques through observation and tests. This data collection uses several instruments in the form of teacher observation sheets and student observation sheets. Meanwhile, to determine students' mathematical collaboration abilities, tests are used. The results of the research show that the use of the Numbered Head Together type cooperative learning model can improve students' mathematical collaboration abilities in mathematics lessons on algebra material. From the average value of the prerequisite abilities, namely 46, the average value of the mathematical collaboration ability of students in cycle I is 71 and the average value of the mathematical collaboration ability of students in cycle II is 76 and the teacher and student activity scores in cycle I are 64% and 59%. , and cycle II, namely 83% and 84%.
