Abstract

Many researchers use Weibull distribution to analyze wind speed data parameters and so forth, but in this research Weibull distribution is used to analyze the frequency data magnitude of aftershock. We use different methods for estimating Weibull distribution parameters. Some methods are compared according to the mean square error (MSE) criteria to select the best method. The parameter estimation results from the data are then used to determine the mean and magnitude of the earthquake. Further data is depicted in a curve for analysis. The case study in this study uses an aftershock frequency data in Nabire district, Papua. After the test of conformity with Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, it is obtained that the data follows the Weibull distribution pattern. Further research results show that the best method among the three methods is the maximum likelihood method (MLE). Abstract

SD YPK Martin Luther Sentani is one of the elementary schools in Sentani Kota Village. Most of the teacher didn't use any tools in teaching mathematics when they explain about the concept of mathematics. The students study mathematics more by direct explanation from the teacher and followed by exercises that only just about calculating. Whereas, children at the elementary school needs to use a concrete medium in the learning process to understand the theory of mathematics, because they still in the early step of how to think concretely and they need a fun learning method. Monotonous learning make students bored and not interested in learning. Moreover, the knowledge and skill of the teachers in designing the tools that lead to the process are still low. By considering this problem that faced by the teachers of SD YPK Martin Luther Sentani, then there is need to make a program that involved the teachers. The purpose of this program is to informed or to introduce some tools to the teachers that are useful to make the students understand the mathematics more easily, and how to implement in the classroom. In the implementation of this program, using three methods, they are by lecture, ask and question, and games method. This program has increased the understanding and the knowledge of the teachers about using props in the classroom in order to increase the understanding of the students about mathematics concept and to stimulate interest and motivation of the students in SD YPK Martin Luther Sentani.Keywords:  elementary school; mathematics learning; tools; teachers; number

Abstract

The learning media can be interpreted as all objects that mediates in the occurrence of learning. Based on its function, the learning media can be tools and medium. Tools are the learning media containing or bring the characteristics of the concepts of the studied. While medium is the learning media who has main function as a tool for learning. The purpose of the activity is to increase the capabilities of mathematics calculation of the first grade student at SDN Inpres Melam Hilli and SDN Inpres Kemiri about the concept of counting operation by utilizing the learning media. The counting operation intended in this activity are defined as the concept of the sum and reduction of natural number from 1 to 20. The methods used in activity are lecturing method, asking questions method, and gaming method. In this activity two types of the games are done, which are papan saku game and tali pas game to embed the concept of counting operation. After this two games are done, the students directed to complete LKS I and II. The success indicator that the students understand the material about counting operation by utilizing mathematics learning media is that they can complete LKS with a value more than or equal to 70. The impact of this activity is the students are very excited in following the activities ranging from the introduction, delivery of the material accompanied by papan saku game ang tali pas game, until the evaluation. On the evaluation phase most of the students quite understand the material that has been delivered and complete LKS with value more than or equal to 70. This means, the utilization of learning media with the gaming method could increase the value of learning/the capabilities of mathematics calculation of the students, especially at counting operation material. Keywords: mathematics learning media, counting operation, gaming method

Abstract

GKI Martin Luther Sentani is one of the churches located in Sentani District, Jayapura Regency. GKI Martin Luther's congregation consists of four elements, one of which is the Children and Youth Association (PAR). From the results of discussions and interviews with several Sunday School teachers, information was obtained that the parents of Sunday School children complained when their children asked about lessons in formal schools, especially science subjects. When children offer assignments or homework from school, sometimes parents spontaneously asked the children to ask other people, especially assignments or homework for math subjects. of course, this problem is very important to find a solution considering that mathematics is a basic science. It is also known that Sunday School teachers are also often the place for Sunday School children to ask questions about assignments or homework from formal schools, especially about geometry. If faced with questions from Sunday School children about geometry, only some of sunday school teachers who can explain it.  The explanation from the Sunday school teacher also sometimes makes children confused or difficult to understand what is explained. Taking into account the problems faced by Sunday School children, Sunday School teachers, in this case the PAR GKI Executive Board (BP) Martin Luther Sentani Church and the community service team, consider it necessary to hold activities that involve Sunday School children. The purpose of this activity is to inform or introduce geometry through concrete media as well as identifying the nature and elements of geometry and to hone Sunday school children's creations in learning about geometry through concrete media using paper and straws. Implementation of this service using several methods, that are the lecture, question and answer, and demonstrations.  With this service activity, the participant’s knowledge about the concept or theory of geometry does not only come from textbooks but also through concrete media so that learning becomes fun. Abstract

Gereja Kristen Injili (GKI) Martin Luther Sentani is one of the churches located in Sentani District, Jayapura. Based on interviews with several Sunday school teachers, information was obtained that Sunday school worship is carried out online. However, in making Sunday school worship videos, there are several problems, such as the lack of professional IT staff, some Sunday school teachers can only edit videos via handphones, and the knowledge of Sunday school teachers about software for editing videos on PC or laptops is very low. Taking into account these problems, the Sunday school teachers in this case Badan Pengurus PAR GKI Martin Luther Sentani and the service team deem it necessary to hold activities that involve Sunday school teachers in editing online Sunday school worship videos so that there is a lack of IT personnel. in video editing can be fulfilled even though not professionally. The purpose of this activity is to inform or introduce filmora software for video editing and to hone the skills of Sunday school teachers in video editing. In the implementation of this service activity, several methods were used, namely: the lecture method, the question and answer method, and demonstration. Overall this activity went well. Participants enthusiastically participated in this service activity starting from introductions, delivery and explanation of material, and practice in editing and making videos. Abstract

One method that can be used to calculate the inverse of a matrix is ​​the adjoin method. In this method, the process begins by calculating the value of the determinant and adjoin of a matrix. This study discusses a method for calculating the inverse, especially on the Vandermonde matrix using partial fraction decomposition. The advantage of this method is that it can calculate the inverse of a matrix, without the need to calculate the value of the determinant and adjoin of a matrix. The steps taken are to define a rational function and then write it in the form of a partial fraction, then by using a formula to calculate the coefficient of a partial fraction, a formula is derived to calculate the inverse of the Vandermonde matrix. After obtaining the formula for calculating the inverse, then comparing the results of the inverse calculation of the Vandermonde matrix using the partial fraction decomposition method with the adjoin method. The results obtained a formula to calculate the inverse of the Vandermonde matrix, V-1=WxA. Based on the case examples given, it can be concluded that the results of the inverse calculations performed using the partial fraction decomposition method are the same as the results of the calculations performed using the adjoin method. However, the calculations performed using the partial fraction decomposition method are more effective and efficient than using the adjoin method

Abstract

Stock prices often fluctuate; therefore, a model is needed to predict the stock price. One of the models that can be used to predict stock prices when experiencing a jump is Jump Diffusion. In addition to predicting, investment is inseparable from the risks that may be borne, so it is also necessary to measure risk. This study aims to implement the Jump Diffusion Model in predicting the stock price of PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk and conduct a risk analysis of the prediction results using Value at Risk (VaR) and Expected Shortfall (ES). In this study, a model was obtained that was used to predict the share price of PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk with a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) value of 6.41%. This shows that the accuracy of the stock price prediction results is included in the very good category. In addition, the VaR value of the prediction results with a confidence level of 90%, 95%, and 99% is 0.0292, 0.0372, and 0.0523, and the ES value is 0.0402, 0.0474, and 0.0613.

Abstract

Children The problem with the learning system at Abepura Adventist Elementary School is that students feel bored with the teacher-centered learning process and they are not active and interested in learning mathematics. The aim of the Uncen PNBP service in 2023 is training in Android-based interactive mathematics learning media for teachers and students at Abepura Adventist Elementary School which can support the teaching and learning process. The methods of service activities are lectures, discussions, questions and answers, demonstrations and practice in using Android math applications. The results achieved from the Uncen PNBP service are that teachers and students can use the Android math application as an interactive learning medium that can increase knowledge, skills and innovation in information and communication technology-based learning models.

Abstract

Air bersih merupakan kebutuhan mendasar bagi kehidupan manusia yang digunakan untuk berbagai aktivitas. Akan tetapi tidak semua daerah memiliki ketersediaan air bersih yang memadai. Tujuan pelaksanaan kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) FMIPA Universitas Cenderawasih adalah memberdayakan masyarakat dalam upaya pemanfaatan air hujan untuk mendapatkan air bersih, menggunakan metode The First Flush System. Kegiatan KKN dilaksanakan di Kampung Benyom Jaya II Distrik Nimbokrang, Kabupaten Jayapura, Provinsi Papua pada tanggal 2-26 Agustus 2023. Kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui tiga tahap yaitu tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan kerja dan tahap monitoring. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan KKN ini yaitu masyarakat mendapatkan air bersih yang dapat digunakan untuk keperluan sehari-hari, namun belum dapat dikonsumsi. Selain itu, masyarakat juga mendapatkan pengetahuan mengenai cara memanfaatkan air hujan untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Model populasi Verhuslt (logistik) merupakan penyempurnaan dari model populasi Malthus (eksponensial). Model pertumbuhan tersebut disajikan dalam bentuk persamaan diferensial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan model logistik pada pertumbuhan penyakit HIV/AIDS di Provinsi Papua. Model logistik yang dipengaruhi oleh awal jumlah kasus populasi penyakit HIV/AIDS, laju pertumbuhan kasus HIV/AIDS, dan daya tampung (carrying capacity). Berdasarkan model logistik yang diperoleh semakin lama, jumlah kasus HIV/AIDS semakin meningkat. Daya tampung diperoleh 490.124 jiwa, sedangkan jumlah kasus HIV/AIDS di Provinsi Papua pada tahun 2020 di perkirakan sebesar 55.832 jiwa.
