Abstract

This article analyzes about english teachers ability and difficulty in speaking. The purpose of this research to know ability and difficulty in speaking. This research uses qualitative approach with descriptive method. The total participants of this research is 22 participants and for the sample uses purpose sampling. In collecting data the authors use instruments. The instruments are speaking test and interview. Speaking test is used to know the ability english teachers and the interview is used to know the aspects of difficulty in speaking. The finding shows that english teachers ability in speaking is 63. It means that the ability english teacher is sufficient. From interviewing the aspect makes english teacher difficulties are communication strategy (not confidence when speaking). It can be concluded that english teachers ability need some strategies to improve ability in speaking.Keywords : english teachers ability, difficulty and speaking

Abstract

An abstract has an important role in the research article. Generally, if the researcher wants to submit the article the first thing that must be done is to submit an abstract. This article aims to identify the moving structure of English abstracts of researcher’s articles from many sources that were published started from 2011 to 2021, to identify of applying tense and disagreement of subject and tense in writing abstract article. This study employed a genre analysis approach. As data collection techniques are used 10 abstract articles from the journal were published and then analyzed by using a moving structure from Hyland and Swales & Feak. The result can be revealed that they are 7 abstract articles that applied the introduction, 9 abstract articles that applied purpose, 9 articles that applied method, and 10 abstract articles that applied product move then there are 4 abstract articles applied conclusion move. In applying tense, the most used is simple present tense. It can be concluded that the most applied move is the product in writing an abstract article then the most used tense is in the simple present tense in writing an abstract article.

Abstract

Understanding what one reads is a significant component of the reading journey. To effectively engage with different types of texts, students must possess strong reading comprehension skills. The goal of this study is to figure out how well kids can understand various forms of literature. Descriptive, recount, report, narrative, and procedural texts are examples of different types of texts. In this research, a quantitative method is utilized to perform data calculations. Reading assessments are incorporated as a tool in this process. The assessments consist of 25 questions and offer a selection of five text types: descriptive, recount, report, narrative, and procedure texts. The findings indicate that students have demonstrated a 50 percent proficiency in comprehending different text types, which suggests a relatively low level of overall comprehension. However, there is a positive trend observed in the children's understanding of descriptive language.

Abstract

Semenjak covid 19 kebanyakan proses belajar mengajar dilakukan secara online. Dan setelah covid 19 hilang proses belajar mengajar dilakukan secara tatap muka kembali. Hal ini mempunyai pengaruh terhadap guru apalagi terhadap siswa sekolah dasar yang baru tamat dan melanjutkan ketiingkat sekolah menengah tingkat pertama (SMP). Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalahuntuk mengetahui pengaruh scrambled word yang diberikan pada siswa dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris.Metode penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan kuasi eksperimental desain. Adapun jumlah populasi adalah 57 siswa yang terdiri dari 30 siswa laki-laki untuk kelas kontrol dan 27 siswa perempuan untuk kelas treatment. Jadi untuk sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 27 siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Juara Pekanbaru di kelas 7. Analisa data dilakukan dengan SPSS versi 2.3.Hasil dari penelitian ditemukan bahwasanya screambled word sangat mempengaruhi penguasaan kosa kata siswa dalam belejar Bahasa Inggris. Untuk hasil rata-rata pre-test untuk kelas treatment adalah 48.519 dan nilai rata pre-test untuk kelas kontrol adalah 67.333. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata untuk kelas post-test di kelas kontrol adalah 74.000 dan untuk di kelas treatment adalah 77.407. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwasanya setelah diberikan treatment nilai individu dan nilai rata-rata siswa naik yang di awalnya pada level kurang sekarang pada level baik. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat bermanfaat bagi siswa, guru dan peneliti selenjutnya. Untuk kedepannya bisa menambahkan mengapa masih terjadi juga kesalahan dalam mengerjakan latihan scrambled untuk pengusaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris.
