Abstract

The purpose of this training was to facilitate elementary school teachers in Sanjaya Elementary School Tritis, Pakem so that they were able to provide learning media for Natural and Social Sciences. The learning media was a set of equipment that could be used as learning media to help teachers deliver lessons to the students so that students were motivated to learn. Media that could be used should be helpful for the students to understand the concept of learning, be suitable with the characteristics of the students, and facilitate the students to obtain the learning objectives, as well as appropriate with the learning condition, facilities and time availability. This training was directed in such a way that the teachers in that school became creative in utilizing objects around them to teach Natural and Social Sciences. Games were also used to teach Mathematics.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low results of a study on documentation of Mid Semester Examination (UTS) scores for learning mathematics and independence from 19 grade 1 students at SD N Bhaktikarya for the 2022/2023 academic year. Class average value of 70 (KKM Mathematics 75). This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which is carried out in 2 cycles, aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes on non-standard measuring instruments and independence by applying the model Problem Basesd Learning (PBL). Researchers used a test technique by analyzing the results of student worksheets (LKPD) on non-standard measuring instruments and guided by 8 indicators of independence in observing the increase in student independence. The percentage of classical mastery of students' mathematics learning outcomes before being given the action (pre-cycle) increased by 11% after being given the first action (cycle I) to 63% and increased after being given the second action (cycle II) to 79%. Application of models Problem Based Learning can increase the independence of students as seen from the percentage increase in pre-cycle by 34%, increased in cycle 1 by 55% and increased to 63% in cycle II. Based on the results of these studies, the application of the model PBL can improve learning outcomes and student independence. Keywords: classroom action research, problem based learning, learning outcomes, independence, non-standard measuring instrument teaching materials.

Abstract

Organic waste remains a major issue in several areas as it causes negative impacts such as environmental pollution. One of the causes is the lack of public understanding of how to process organic waste. Organic waste processing can be carried out using BSF maggot. Utilizing BSF maggot for organic waste processing is a form of sustainable benefit. BSF maggot can be used as animal feed, and its residue can be used as organic fertilizer. This study employs a qualitative method to deeply describe the sequence and results of community service activities conducted for the PKK mothers' community. The community service was conducted in the form of a socialization event aimed at providing an understanding of organic waste processing using BSF maggot and its potential as an alternative chicken feed. The activities included socialization on BSF maggot farming techniques, the role of BSF maggot in processing organic waste, the benefits that can be obtained, and the provision of BSF maggot samples for independent farming. The evaluation results show that all participants understood the BSF maggot farming techniques for processing organic waste and applying it as chicken feed in their surroundings.
