Abstract

This study aims to scientifically examine the role of psychology in education or widely known as educational psychology. This study uses a literature study to find out about the meaning, scope, objectives, benefits, and application of educational psychology. The results of the analysis illustrate that educational psychology is a branch or sub-discipline of psychology that specializes in how to understand teaching and learning in an educational environment. The understanding of teaching and learning can be the basis for educators and education managers in recognizing the potential of students and environmental condotions that affect them. This basis can be used as a reference in determining the type and method of learning, class management, handling students according to their needs and conditions, measuring learning achievement , and in the end, to evaluate and follow-up the results. The proper application of psychology in the world of education is expected to help improve the quality and the output so that educational goals are achieved as stated in the law. Good quality of education will be able to help shape the next generation, who will become leaders of the nation, to become an intelligent with noble character so as to be able to bring Indonesia back to its golden age.

Abstract

Implementation ​​of Tri Hita Karana values is an important thing to do in this new normal era, especially for children and teenagers, because currently many teenagers and children tend to be indifferent to their surroundings. Community service activities carried out in Dusun Rendang Bajur, Kecamatan Gunung Sari, Kabupaten Lombok Barat, West Nusa Tenggara aim to provide guidance to children, youth and parents regarding the importance of strengthening the values ​​of Tri Hita Karana. Community service activities are carried out with materials that are tailored to the needs and problems that occur in the community and with methods in the form of lectures, discussions, making APE, mentoring and counseling. The result of this activity is a commitment to be more active in implementing the values ​​of Tri Hita Karana in everyday life. Parents are also committed to using the learning strategies that have been given in this activity to their children so that children can easily get direct understanding from their parents regarding the values ​​of Tri Hita Karana.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the process of introducing Balinese script to early childhood at PAUD Mutiara Rinjani in Selelos Village. Balinese script is part of Balinese culture and an essential part of Hindu religious rituals. Still, in reality, not all children can get to know and learn Balinese script, especially Balinese children outside the island of Bali. This makes it essential to introduce the Balinese script early so that community service activities become a necessary learning process. This community service activity is carried out with a community-based approach which is carried out with the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. Based on the results of data during the activity, it can be concluded that quite essential things are the introduction of Balinese script activities carried out through the media of coloring books compiled by the activity coach, the emphasis of learning is only on the realm of knowing, the training runs smoothly. The children are enthusiastic about the introduction process, which is carried out pleasantly through the media of images. It is hoped that similar activities can be carried out again so that the training context is sustainable. It is expected that the description of this activity can be important information and a reference in planning a service program related to the introduction and learning of Balinese script for early childhood.
