Abstract

The radiation effects of radiology and x-rays equipments do not only give excellent benefit for human, but also harmful effect at the same time. Protecting people form the radiation is an important aspect to control such harmful effect. Hence every nuclear installation and radiology unit must pay attention on protecting surrounding people from the radiation. Lead is commonly used as component of shield, but the use of lead requires special work and energy. In economical aspects, the cost of such effort is relatively expensive, but in workability aspects, the application of iron sand mortar can be used as alternative material to protect from radiation. This study assessed gamma radiation absorption on mortar cube sample with dimension of 15 x 15 cm and thickness variation of 1 cm to 15 cm. Mortar ingredient consisted of iron sand, cements and water, with cements - iron sand volume ratio of 1 : 6. Water cement ratio was determined at 0,4 and the gamma radiant energy applied were Iodine-131 (131I) denergi 284,00 keVs, 364,00 keVs, 637,00 keVs and Caesium-137 (137Cs) dissociation energy of diatomic 662,00 keV. Physical test gradation conducted to iron sand from Congot beach Kulonprogo regency of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta Province, showed specific gravity of 4,331 with, Ssd specific gravity of 4,330, unit weight of 2,554 gr/cm³, water absorbency 0,442%, and grain finest modulus of 1,33, which was categorized as zone IV (smooth gradation). Compressive strength and specific gravity of Iron sand mortar at 28 days reached 7,92 MPa and 2,59 respectively. Especially, specific gravity was heavier than ordinary cements mortar with average value ranged from 1,80 - 2,20. Coefficient linear magnitude attenuation (μ) of iron sand mortar at radiation energy 284 keVs, 364 keVs, 637 keVs and 662 keVs were 0,2816 cm-1, 0,2253 cm-1, 0,1297 cm-1 and 0,1003 cm-1 respectively. Based on these relation, the line equation obtained was y = 0,5631e(-0025X).

Abstract

The dearth of English textbooks used as teaching resources for junior high school students at Islamic Boarding Schools (IBS) in West Sumatera, Indonesia, is the driving force behind the current study. The goal of this research is to develop an IBS English textbook. Using Sukmadinata's theory, research and development were used in this study. The phases are divided into three phases: need analysis, design, and validation. Interviews and document analysis were used to gather data. Teachers require an English textbook for instruction, according to the results of the need analysis. The textbook is meticulously created during the design phase to satisfy the demands of both teachers and students. Topics including greeting, school activities, dorm activities, sports, scout extracurricular activities, minimarket, mosque activities, and before bed are covered in the textbook along with Islamic principles and local culture. On the other hand, the activities are cheerfully and easily designed. For instance, completing crossword puzzles, matching words, and responding to simple inquiries. Additionally, the textbook made use of vibrant pictures to grab students' interest and expand their understanding. The textbook was accepted as true. The English textbook could be utilized to teach English for IBS in West Sumatera in light of these findings.

Abstract

One of speaking performance is presentation the topic material. In presentation the topic material nursing students implement the genre-based approach. This study examines the effectiveness of genre-based approach to enhance speaking performance. This study employed One-Group Pretest-Post-test Design. To collect the data used questionnaire and pre-test and post- speaking test. In analyzing the data of questionaire used Horwitz et.al and grouped them into three level anxety. The result found that the effectiveness of genre-based approach to enhance speaking performance on EFL students for high level anxiety is significant. It can be seen from the p-value = 0.022 is smaller than α = 0.05. If the p-value < α, then the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. The effectiveness of genre-based approach to enhance speaking performance on EFL students for moderate level anxiety is not signficant because the p-value = 0.165 is greater than α = 0.05. If the p-value > α, then the null hypothesis (H0) is not rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is not accepted. The effectiveness of genre-based approach to enhance speaking performance on EFL students for low level anxiety is significant because the p-value = 0.001 is smaller than α = 0.05. If the p-value is very small like this, then the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected very strongly, and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted very strongly. It can be concluded that the genre-based approach was found to significantly improve speaking performance in students with high and low anxiety, but not moderate anxiety.

Abstract

The People's Oil Palm Replanting Program (PSR) is a strategic policy of the government to increase the productivity and welfare of oil palm farmers. However, in its implementation, a number of violations of the law were found such as manipulation of data on program participants. This paper aims to review the implementation of the PSR program in West Aceh Regency from the perspective of Islamic law. Using a normative-empirical approach, this study refers to the principles of maqāṣid al-sharīʿah and fiqh siyasah in examining the role of the state in the distribution of justice, the validity of land ownership, and administrative violations. The results show that the PSR program is in accordance with the objectives of Islamic law, especially in the aspects of property protection (ḥifẓ al-māl) and community welfare (taḥqīq al-maṣlaḥah), but there is a need for improved governance to be in accordance with the principles of justice, transparency, and accountability as taught in Islamic law.
