Abstract

The research of biodiesel from waste cooking oil using CaO as catalyst with two step esterification and transesterification has been done. On esterificatioan step, methanol and waste cooking oil mol ratio is 1:9 with H2SO4 1 M as catalyst. On transesterification process using CaO catalyst is 1:12 on 60-65 oC for 5 hours. Theoritically, biodiesel which resulted is 48,342 % while by experimentally is 30,93 %. The main component which resulted are methyl oleate (42,77%) and biodiesel based on ASTM data results specific density (0,8746), kinematic viscosity (4,706), flash point (170,5), pour point (12) and carbon conradson remaining (0,0193)

Abstract

Telah dilakukan ekstraksi logam Cu2+ menggunakan poli(etil eugeniloksi asetat) sebagai ligan dalam kloroform. Proses ekstraksi dilakukan untuk mempelajari pengaruh variasi pH dan variasi waktu. Larutan logam Cu2+ 10 mL dengan konsentrasi ligan poli (etil eugeniloksi asetat) 1 x 10-3 M. Konsentrasi logam Cu2+ yang tersisa setelah ekstraksi di fasa air ditentukan dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer Serapan Atom. Hasil penelitian menunjukan ekstraksi logam Cu2+ dengan poli(etil eugenil asetat) 1 x 10-3 M optimum pada pH 5, perbandingan ligan : logam Cu2+ adalah 10 : 1 dan waktu ekstraksi 36 jam dan konstanta kesetimbangan ekstraksi (Keks) = 88,64%

Abstract

Telah dilakukan analisis asam lemak dalam daging ikan bubara biru (Caranx melampygus). Daging ikan bubara ini diekstrak dengan menggunakan petroleum benzene untuk memperoleh minyak.Selanjutnya minyak yang diperoleh ditransesterifikasi dengan BF3-metanol sebagai katalis untuk membentuk metil ester asam lemak. Struktur metil asam lemak dianalisis dengan GC-MS dan diperoleh 5 jenis asam lemak, yaitu metil heptadekanoat (asam margarat) 1,98%, metil heksadekanoat (asam palmitat) 33, 31%, metil 9-oktadekanoat (asam oleat) 2,92%, metl oktadekanoat (asam stearat) 26,15%, dan metil 5,8,11,14-eikosatetraenoat (asam arakidonat) 2,10%. Ikan bubara biru (Caranx melampygus). Mengandung asam lemak omega-6 sebagai PUFA sehingga dapat dikonsumsi sebagai sumber asam lemak yang penting bagi kesehatan

Abstract

Determination of optimum pH and contact time, of broken brick from Latuhalat village as adsorbent of Pb2+ through impregnation with di-(2-ethylhexcyl) phosphate acid (D2EHPA) has been done. Bricks impregnated with di-(2-ethylhexcyl) phosphate acid concentration of 700 ppm to enlarge the surface area of ​​adsorption on bricks. The result of analysis using AAS show that optimum contact time is 3 hours, optimum pH is 8, with weight of adsorbent is 0,2 g, adsorbate concentration is 100 ppm and adsorption capacity is 49,9985 mg/g adsorbent.

Abstract

Getah buah papaya diambil dan diisolasi enzim papain kemudian ditambahkan dalam proses pengolahan daging kerang darah baik dengan cara direbus maupun dikukus dan sebagai pembandingnya dilakukan hal yang sama untuk daging kerang darah baik di rebus dan dikukus tanpa penambahan enzim papain hasil isolasi tersebut. Dilakukan Uji kualitas kimia daging kerang darah (Anadara granosa) hasil olahan melalui analisis proksimat dan analisis asam lemak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan berat molekul dari enzim papain yang diisolasi dari Getah buah papaya adalah 21 kDa. Komposisi proksimat yang terbaik dibandingkan dengan kontrol (tanpa penambahan enzim papain) adalah pengolahan dengan penambahan enzim dimana pengolahan direbus dengan penambahan enzim diperoleh pH 6.757, Kadar air 68.21, kadar lemak 5.66598, dan kadar abu 1.78764 sedangkan dengan dikukus diperoleh pH 6.437, Kadar air 59.29, kadar lemak 4.22242, dan kadar abu 2.35173. Kadar protein dan nilai susut masak tertinggi berturut-turut pada perlakuan penambahan enzim papain sebesar 67 % dan 50.94 sedangkan terendah pada perlakuan tanpa penambahan enzim papain sebesar 18 % dan 40.18. Hasil analisis asam lemak dengan metode GC-MS menunjukkan bahwa kerang darah tanpa penambahan enzim mengandung 6 jenis asam lemak yaitu metil ester asam meristat (4.15%), metil ester asam palmitoleat (8,81%), metil ester asam palmitat (19.24%), metil ester asam oleat (3.43%) metil ester asam stearat (14.09%) dan metil ester arakidonat (5.19%) sedangkan kerang darah dengan penambahan enzim mengandung 7 jenis asam lemak yaitu metil ester asam meristat (5,25%), metil ester asam palmitoleat (9.62%), metil ester asam palmitat (21.54%), metil ester asam oleat cis (3.97%), metil ester asam oleat trans (4.20%), metil ester asam stearat (13.33%) dan metil ester arakidonat (5.15%).

Abstract

A study has been carried out on the analysis of the physical and chemical quality of PDAM water in the Teluk Ambon Baguala sub-district. The purpose of this study was to analyze the physical and chemical quality of water from the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) in Halong, Lateri, and Passo villages, including smell, taste, color, temperature, a total of dissolved solids (TDS), pH and hardness. The method used is the observation in the field at the time of sampling, then measurement and analysis in the laboratory. The results of the study indicate that the physical and chemical quality of PDAM water in the Teluk Ambon Baguala sub-district, which are smell, taste, color, total of dissolved solids (TDS), pH and hardness have met the drinking water quality standards according to the Regulation of the Minister of Health No. 492/Menkes/per/IV/2010.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Research on the characterisation of activated carbon of white snapper (Lates calcarifer) scales waste, obtained through carbonisation process, fish scales were put in a furnace at 350 oC for 2 hours. Then cooled and sieved with a 100 mesh sieve, characterised by XRD, resulting in three peaks with the strongest intensity at 2θ regions of 26.45o, 32.69o, and 33.60o respectively. The surface acidity of carbon solids before and after activation were (4.48x10-3 and 7.77x10-3) mol/g, respectively. The activation process of white snapper scales (Lates calcarifer), increases the surface area of carbon can react with other chemicals. Subsequently, it was calcined at 450 oC under vacuum conditions for 2 hours with N2 gas, and characterised by XRD. The results showed a shift in 2θ peaks of 26.52o, 29.66o, and 32.77o, respectively. The carbon was activated by soaking with 3 M KOH activator for 15 hours, washed with distilled water, and dried in an oven at 110°C for 1 hour, characterised by XRD, and the peaks with the strongest intensity were obtained at 26.22°C, 29.12°C, and 32.43°C, with increasing basal spacing.
