Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out the effectiveness of the problem posing learning models in terms of students' mathematical literacy abilities. The sample of this study was 31 students of class VII.6 PGRI 2 Junior High School in Ciledug. Purposive sampling technique was purposed in this research. Indicators of this study include: (1) elements of algebraic form; (2) algebraic form operations, which consist of: addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, rank, and the LCM and GCD algebraic concepts. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach. The method used was a quasi experiment, with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research instrument used was a mathematical literacy ability test. The results of this study were categorized into 4: high, medium, low and very low. Data analysis used pretest and posttest score for each indicator. Based on the results of paired sample t-test shows that there is a significant increase in each indicator. The calculation result of Gain value of 0.42 shows an increase in the medium category. This it can be concluded that the problem posing learning model is effective.

Abstract

Literasi numerasi dibutuhkan dalam setiap aspek kegiatan, baik pada rumah, sekolah atau lingkungan masyarakat. pada kehidupan sehari-hari ketika mengatur waktu, memilih lama pekerjaan, berbelanja, merencanakan liburan atau aktivitas lainnya membutuhkan kemampuan literasi numerasi. menggunakan kemampuan literasi numerasi, para PMI akan bisa memecahkan permasalahan yang berkaitan menggunakan matematika. Kemampuan yg terkait ialah kemampuan mengaplikasikan konsep sapta, pengukuran, operasi hitung, geometri, data dan pola serta menginterpretasikan isu kuantitatif yang ada di sekeliling. Guna memperkuat kecakapan numerasi bagi PMI, perlu ditingkatkan aktivitas kegiatan yang sesuai dengan muatan numerasi yaitu dengan mengadakan pelatihan secara online bagi para PMI di Hong Kong. Metode aktivitas ini ialah menggunakan melaksanakan training dan pendekatan pada mitra yang dituju, melaksanakan pelatihan dan evaluasi. hasil evaluasi pelatihan menyatakan bahwa aktivitas pelatihan ini sangat bermanfaat bagi para PMI di Hong Kong.

Abstract

Penelitian eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya perbedaan hasil belajar matematika antara siswa yang diberikan model pembelajaran menggunakan student facilitator and explaining berbantuan media mentimeter dan model konvensional di kelas X SMAN 1 Cikande. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian yang digunakan adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Cikande. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Purpossive Sample dimana diperoleh siswa kelas X-B sebanyak 47 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X-C sebanyak 47 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes. Teknik analisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji hipotesis menggunaan uji paired sample t-test dan uji independent sample t-test. Hasil uji hipotesis menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan yakni ada perbedaan antara hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas X-B melalui model pembelajaran student facilitator and explaining berbantuan media mentimeter dengan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas X-C melalui model pembelajaran kovensional.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between and the contribution of metacognitive abilities to students’ numeracy literacy skills. The study population consists of all students at SMP Negeri 3 Panongan, and the sample comprises 40 seventh-grade students in Class VII-3. The instruments used a 5-point Likert scale Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI) questionnaire to assess metacognitive abilities and a test instrument to assess students’ numeracy literacy skills. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson’s correlation test and simple linear regression. The results of the study found: (1) There is a positive relationship between metacognitive ability and students’ numeracy literacy skills. (2) Metacognitive ability contributes 63.4% to numeracy literacy skills

Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving ability is one of the essential competencies in mathematics learning, particularly in the topic of Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV). However, many students still experience difficulties in understanding word problems, determining variables, constructing mathematical models, carrying out solution procedures, and checking the final results. This study aimed to analyze students’ mathematical problem-solving ability in SPLDV material based on Polya’s stages, namely understanding the problem, devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and looking back. This study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were six students of class VIII F at SMP Negeri 5 Kota Tangerang, selected purposively to represent high, medium, and low ability categories. Data were collected through essay tests and interviews, and then analyzed based on the indicators of mathematical problem-solving ability at each stage of Polya’s problem-solving process. The results showed that students in the high category were able to solve problems systematically at all stages. Students in the medium category were able to understand the problem and devise a plan, but still made errors in carrying out the plan. Meanwhile, students in the low category experienced difficulties in almost all stages of problem solving. In general, the most difficult stages for students were carrying out the plan and looking back at the results. This study concludes that students’ mathematical problem-solving ability in SPLDV varies according to their ability level, with major weaknesses in the implementation and checking stages. The findings imply that mathematics instruction should place greater emphasis on modeling practice, procedural accuracy, and reflective checking of solutions.
