Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-confidence and anxiety with student academic procrastination. The sampling technique in this research was accidental sampling. The sample in this study amounted to 130 people. The method used in this study was a quantitative method. The instrument used was a Likert scale model questionnaire. The data collection technique used three scales, consisting of a self-confidence scale, an anxiety scale and an academic procrastination scale. The data analysis technique used was Multiple Regression. The results of this study indicate (1) There was a significant negative relationship between self-confidence and academic procrastination, where the coefficient rxly = -0.872 with p = 0.000, and (r²) = 0.760 with a contribution of 76%. (2). There was a significant positive relationship between anxiety and academic procrastination, where the coefficient rxly = 0.897 with p = 0.000, and (r²) = 0.805 with a contribution of 80.5%. (3). there was a significant relationship between self-confidence and anxiety with student academic procrastination. This was indicated by the linearity coefficient (R) = 0.900 with p = 0.000 < 0.050. and (r²) = 0.811 with a contribution of 81.1%. From these results it is known that there are still 19.9% contributions from other factors to academic procrastination

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between emotional intelligence and parenting democratic with academic procrastination of College Students Faculty Of Psychology batch 2015 and 206, Medan Area University. The approach used in this study was a quantitative approach. The samples technique in this study was an accidental sampling. In this study, the researcher used three scale measuring as the instrument type. The scale used to measure the academic procrastination, emotional intelligence and parenting democratic scale. The data analysis techniques used in this study was a multiple regression analysis. Based on the analysis of data the results show that: (1). There was a negative significant relationship between parenting democratic with academic procrastination which was seen from R= -0,863 and R2=0,745 where p < 0.05. (2). There was a negative significant relationship between parenting democratic with academic procrastination which was seen from R= -0,461 and R2=0,213 where p < 0.05. (3). There was a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and parenting democratic with academic procrastination which was seen from coefficient value of R2=0,759. It means that there was a significant correlation emotional intelligence and social support with academic procrastination college students Faculty of Psychology batch 2015 and 2016, Medan Area University.

Abstract

The focus of the problems in this study refers to the problems that occur in the lives of Medan Area University students ranging from physical, psychological, and sexual violence. Respondents of this study amounted to 150 people consisting of undergraduate and postgraduate students. The sampling technique used in this research is Quota Sampling. The age of this population ranges from 18-40 years. The measuring instrument in this study consisted of three instrumentals that had been modified by the researcher including the family support scale, goal commitment scale, and resilience scale. The calculation result for the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test is 0.200 which means the data is normally distributed. The results of the multiple regression test stated that there was a significant effect of family support and goal commitment on resilience in students at the University of Medan Area. For the partial regression test, it states that there is no significant effect of goal commitment on resilience in Medan Area University students. The results state that there is a significant effect of family support on resilience in Medan Area University students. The importance of the role of support that comes from family members as a positive reinforcement of behavior in the learning process so that learning methods can run optimally for students.

The approach used in this study was a quantitative approach . The samples technique in this study was an accidental sampling. In this study, the researcher used three scale measuring as the instrument type. The scale used to measure the academic procrastination, academic resilience and social support. The data analysis techniques used in this study was a multiple regression analysis. Based on the analysis of data the results show that: (i). There was a negative significant correlation between academic resilience with academic procrastination which was seen from R= -0,885 and R2=0,784 where p < 0.05. (ii). There was a negative significant correlation between social support with academic procrastination which was seen from R= -0,454 and R2=0,206 where p < 0.05. (iii). There was a significant correlation between academic resilience and social support with academic procrastination which was seen from coefficient F value = 218,390 and p<0,050 . It means that there was a significant correlation academic resilience and social support with academic procrastination college students Faculty Of Psychology batch 2015 and 2016, Medan Area University.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan empati dan dukungan sosial teman sebaya dengan komunikasi interpersonal pada siswa Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) Binjai. Pendekatan pada penelitian ini adalah pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X dan XI MAN Binjai berjumlah 592 siswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 85 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan tiga skala yang terdiri dari skala empati, skala dukungan sosial teman sebaya dan skala komunikasi interpersonal. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan untuk menjawab hipotesis penelitian ini adalah regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ada hubungan positif yang signifikan antara empati dan dukungan sosial teman sebaya dengan komunikasi interpersonal dibuktikan dengan koefisien Rx_1.2y= 0.733 dan p = 0,000 (p 0.05). Persentase sumbangan efektif dari kedua variabel bebas empati dan dukungan sosial teman sebaya dengan komunikasi interpersonal adalah sebesar 53.7%. Dari hasil ini diketahui bahwa masih terdapat 46.3% sumbangan dari faktor lain yang tidak dibahas dalam penelitian ini. Dari hasil perhitungan mean hipotetik dan mean empirik diperoleh empati, dukungan sosial teman sebaya berada pada kategori tinggi. Disarankan kepada siswa untuk terus meningkatkan rasa empati terhadap sesama serta saling memberikan dukungan sosial kepada sesama teman sebaya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan self esteem dan self disclosure dengan komunikasi interpersonal pada siswa, pendekatan pada penelitian ini adalah pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X dan XI MAN Binjai berjumlah 592. Pengambilan sampel secara random sampling berjumlah 85 siswa. Objek penelitian ini terdiri atas tiga variabel terikat adalah komunikasi interpersonal dan variabel bebas adalah self esteem dan self disclosure. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di MAN Binjai pada bulan mei 2018. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah  menggunakan angket dalam bentuk skala yang mengacu pada pernyataan seseorang terhadap dirinya sendiri. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan untuk menjawab hipotesis penelitian ini adalah uji regresi berganda. Berdasarkan analisis data yang dilakukan, diperoleh hasil terdapat hubungan positif self esteem dan self disclosure dengan komunikasi interpersonal. Hasil ini dibuktikan dengan koefisien korelasi, dimana rxy: 0,435 ; P : 0,000 0,050. Sumbangan efektif untuk self esteem dengan komunikasi interpersonal sebesar 14,8% dan sumbangan efektif self disclosure dengan komunikasi interpersonal sebesar 4,4%, dari hasil perhitungan mean hipotetik dan mean empirik diperoleh self esteem, self disclosure dan komunikasi interpersonal berada pada kategori tinggi. Rekomendasi: Disarankan untuk terus membuka diri dan berkomunikasi dengan guru dan sesama teman.

The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach. The samples technique in this study was an accidental sampling. In this study, the researcher used three scale measuring as the instrument type. The scale used to measure the academic procrastination, self regulation and academic stress scale. The data analysis techniques used in this study is a multiple regression analysis. Based on the analysis of data the results show that: (i). There is a negative significant relationship between self regulation with academic procrastination which was seen from R= -0496 and R2=0,246 where p < 0.05. (ii). There is a negative significant relationship between academic stress with academic procrastination which is seen from R= -0,452 and R2=0,204 where p < 0.050. (iii). There is a significant relationship between self regulation and academic stress with academic procrastination which is seen from coefficient value of R2=0,268. It means that there was a significant correlation self regulation and stress academi with academic procrastination college students Faculty of Psychology batch 2015 and 2016, Medan Area University.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the effect of parental involvement and emotional regulation on students' psychological well-being. The research method used is correlational research which aims to determine the effect between variables. The research population was 410 Mandiri SMK students. Samples were taken randomly as much as 25% of the total population, namely 103 people. The research instrument was a questionnaire about psychological well being, parental involvement, and emotion regulation which was designed with a Likert Scale. Data were analyzed using multiple regression techniques. Based on the analysis, the following research results were obtained: (1) there was a significant effect of parental involvement on students' psychological well-being. This is indicated by the tx1y value of 2.586 > 1.657 with p <0.05; (2) There is a significant effect of emotion regulation on students' psychological well being. This is indicated by the tx2y value of 2.165 > 1.657 with p <0.05; (3) There is a significant effect of parental involvement and emotional regulation on students' psychological well-being. This is indicated by the tx1tx2y value of 8.059 > 1.657 with p <0.05. Thus, parental involvement and emotional regulation have an impact on the psychological well-being of Mandiri SMK students.
