Abstract

The correct tooth brushing behavior on fixed orthodontic appliances users is a form of oral hygiene care behavior to prevent the plaque accumulation that will minimize the occurrence of periodontal disease. It takes Oral Hygiene Motivation Methods (OHMM) in the form of instruction, adequate equipment and materials, and also patient motivation.   The purpose of this study was to analyze the toward plaque accumulation in  Denpasar high school students with fixed orthodontic appliances before and after OHMM were given.  This experimental study with Pre-Post Test without Control design was conducted on 124 high school students in Denpasar who use  fixed orthodontic appliances. The study datas are  the examination of Plaque Index before and 21 days after the OHMM were given.The results showed that  mean scores of Plaque Index in the pre and post examinatons were respectively of 1.6 and 0.8. Based on an analysis using Wilcoxon Match Pairs Test showed Plaque Index between before and after OHMM were respectively p = 0.00 (p 0.05).A Conclusion of  the high school students in Denpasar who uses  fixed orthodontic appliances after OHMM were given study are the Plaque Index decreased with mild criteria. Abstract

Dental caries is a dental tissue disease marked by tissue damage, starting from tooth surface spread towards the pulp. The prevalence of caries in children aged 1 until 4 years in Indonesia by 10.4%. Knowledge of parents is very important to underlying the formation of behaviors that support or do not support oral hygiene of children. This study aims to obtain a description of dental caries and the level of parents knowledge of dental and oral health care in preschool children at kindergarten Sila Chandra III Batubulan in 2017. This study uses descriptive research with survei. Performed on children and parents in kindergarten Sila Chandra III Batubulan 2017 which amounted to 60 people. Results of the research on caries deciduous teeth obtained 51 children (85%) suffered dental caries, the mean caries of deciduous teeth is 4.9 and belong to high category. Parents knowledge of the preservation dental and oral health preschoolers with very good category as 24 people (40%), and with the failure category as two people (3.33%). Children of suffering caries deciduous teethbased on the level of knowledge parents obtained results that is 19 children(79%) suffering caries deciduous teeth with the level of knowledge is very good.It is expected to increase promotive efforts that are counseling on how to maintain oral hygiene, dental caries and others in children and the elderly in TK Sila Chandra III Batubulan Year 2017

Abstract

The main duty of the dental nurse at health center are planning, preparing and doing service of tooth and mouth healthy in individual, group, and society in healthy facility include at health center. Looked on the important of service target achievement of dental and mouth healthy, so the main duty of the dental nurse must be optimal. This unsuccessful show by the national survey result riskedas Bali, that is low number of tooth defence that only reach 42,4 %, resident that have care by medical only 1,7 %. Konseling care/ clean of the tooth only 12,7 %. Besides resident’s behavior on caring of the tooth and mouth cleaness is in low number that show by the percentage of the residents that in 10 years old which brushes teeth everyday are 82,2 %, but that brushes their teeth with the right way and time only 16%. Low number of optimalization when do the main duty dental nurse caused by un knowledge the dental nurse of their main duty. Dental nurse, know about their main duty but not do it, and there are no straightening of the regulation. The way to optimalize main duty of dental nurse in the health center are motivate for the next study and serve exercise of dental and mouth healthy to the dental nurse that passed the SPRG, make a rule about do the main duty in the health center, assesmant functional credits number of the dental nurse must be fixed, and doing a meeting between the of PPGI, of PDGI, school institution, health center and Dinkes for talk about the realization of dental nurse’s main duty and rebuild the format ricord of dental care service in health center. Optimal of the main duty of dental nurse will support the reach of Millennium Dielopment Goals (MDG’s)

Statistics show that dental and oral disease affects almost everyone, including people who have diabetes mellitus. Tooth brushing behavior is one of the most important and effective health behaviors for the maintenance of dental and oral health by preventing plaque from forming on the teeth. Brushing your teeth will reduce the contact of sucrose and bacteria so that it can prevent caries. This Community Service Method is this service is carried out by providing counseling and training on brushing teeth. The measurement of knowledge and behavior of brushing teeth was carried out by pre-posttest. Furthermore, the collected data were analyzed descriptively and analytically. Namely an increase in knowledge about dental and oral health after community service activities, namely before counseling most of the knowledge targets were categorized as lacking and after counseling their knowledge became good category. After the tooth brushing training activity, there was an increase in tooth brushing behavior from the poor category to the good category. The results of the statistical test showed that there was a significant difference in the knowledge, and tooth brushing behavior before and after the counseling and brushing training activities with a significant value of 0.000 (p 0.05). It is recommended to holders of non-communicable disease programs, especially chronic disease programs at puskesmas and related parties, to continue to provide promotive services in the field of dental health on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

The program aimed at achieving and maintaining the elimination of infectious diseases such as HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis B from mother to baby to achieve better health through a coordinated approach is called triple elimination.Based on the interviews conducted, out of 10 pregnant women who visited UPTD Puskesmas II, Denpasar Utara District Health Office, it was found that seven pregnant women did not comply with the triple elimination examination.The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between spousal support and the compliance of pregnant women in undergoing triple elimination tests.The research was conducted at UPTD Puskesmas II, Denpasar Utara District Health Office, in March-April 2024.This research is an analytical observational study using a cross-sectional design.The data collection for this research was conducted by distributing questionnaires.The respondents were 38 pregnant women.Data analysis used univariate and bivariate methods with the Chi Square test at a significance level of p<0.05.The research results show that 32 pregnant women (84.2%) received support from their husbands in carrying out the triple elimination test, and 32 pregnant women (84.2%) complied with the triple elimination test.Statistical tests yielded a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05, which can be concluded to indicate a significant relationship between spousal support and the compliance of pregnant women in undergoing triple elimination tests.Healthcare workers are expected to enhance efforts in providing integrated pregnancy care to pregnant women who seek prenatal services at healthcare facilities.

Abstract

Pregnant women who experience nutritional problems have a higher risk of complications during pregnancy, childbirth, and for the baby they give birth to.The objective of this research is to identify the characteristics of primigravida mothers with KEK, to identify the knowledge of primigravida mothers, and to determine the relationship between knowledge and the incidence of KEK in pregnant women at UPTD Puskesmas II, Denpasar North District Health Office.This research is a correlational analytical study conducted with a case-control study design.The population in this study consists of pregnant women at UPTD Puskesmas II, Denpasar North District Health Office, with a sample of 70 people divided into case and control groups, each consisting of 35 people.Analysis using the chi-square test.The research instrument consisted of a questionnaire with 30 questions.The analysis results show that a majority of respondents who do not experience Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) have good knowledge, amounting to 97.1%, while respondents who experience CED have good knowledge at 65.7%.There is a positive relationship between knowledge and the incidence of Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) in pregnant women.Pregnant women with less knowledge are 17.739 times more likely to experience Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED).Health centers are expected to optimize promotional activities, innovations, and continuously strive to enhance the integrated ANC program in order to improve pregnant women's knowledge in fulfilling nutrition during pregnancy to reduce the incidence of KEK.
