Abstract

Stunting (short) is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five as a result of chronic malnutrition so that children do not reach the ideal body size for their age. Children who are classified as short (stunting) have experienced chronic malnutrition since the beginning of their lives, on this basis, research on the problem of stunting is important to do. This research is an analytic observational research study with a case control design. The independent variables include age at first pregnancy, maternal height, birth weight, birth spacing, sanitation and clean water, parenting, maternal education, exclusive breastfeeding, complementary feeding and infectious diseases and the dependent variable is stunting. The sample is toddlers aged 25-59 months who experience stunting as many as 33 people. The results showed that there was no relationship between gestational age and stunting, p = 0.609, there was a significant relationship between maternal height and stunting, p = 0.037, there was a significant relationship between birth weight and stunting, p = 0.017, there was no relationship between birth spacing and stunting, p = 0.805, there is no relationship between sanitation and clean water with stunting, p = 0.159, there is no relationship between parenting and stunting, p = 0.802, there is a significant relationship between maternal education and stunting, p = 0.044, there is a significant relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and stunting , p = 0.024, there is a significant relationship between MP ASI and stunting, p = 0.007, there is a significant relationship between infectious diseases and stunting, p = 0.007. Based on the results of this study, many factors influence the incidence of stunting in children aged 25-59 months. For this reason, it is hoped that the Kolongan Health Center, Kalawat District, can improve the performance of midwives and nutrition workers at the puskesmas to be more active in providing counseling and counseling to pregnant women and mothers of children under five for the prevention and control of stunting in the Kolongan Health Center area.

Abstract

Adolescent health efforts are activities that aim to help adolscents become healthy adults. The change towards adolescence is marked by puberty, such as the occurrence of menstruation in teenage girls. Before expriencing the menstrual phase, woman will experience symptoms such as stomach ache, difficulty concentrating and sharp emotional changes called premenstrual syndrome. The aim of this research is to determine the description of knowledge and attitudes about premenstrual syndrome in class IX students at SMP Negeri 1 Selemadeg Barat. This research wa conducted from March to April 2024 at SMP Negeri 1 Selemadeg Barat. This type of research is descriptive research with design cross sectional. The number of respondents used was 64 female students. Data collection includes filling out knowledge and attitudequestionnaires. The results of the study showed that the majority of respondents ages 15 years, began to experience menarche at the age of 12, has no sisters and the majority obtains information from the surrounding environment. The assessment regarding female students’ knowledge obtained results, only a few got good marks, namely 10 female students (15,6%) and the majority of female students showed a positive attitude, namely 36 female students (56,25%). Female students are advised to learn more about premenstrual syndrome and local health center staff are advised to provide edication to female students to from an attitude of students who are ready to face the problem menarche and premenstrual syndrome.

Abstract

Permasalahan kesehatan reproduksi remaja di Indonesia semakin kompleks yang harus ditangani secara komprehensif dan terintegrasi dengan melibatkan unsur dari lintas program dan lintas sektor yang terkait. Salah satu upaya pemerintah untuk mencegah dan menangani masalah tersebut melalui kegiatan Posyandu remaja. Kegiatan Posyandu remaja melibatkan petugas kesehatan dan masyarakat. Dalam kegiatan Posyandu remaja, proses pembelajaran dapat dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan tutor teman sebaya. Kelurahan Serangan belum melaksanakan kegiatan Posyandu remaja, walaupun sudah dilaksanakan pelatihan kader kesehatan remaja oleh pihak UPTD Puskesmas III Dinas Kesehatan Kecamatan Denpasar Selatan. Hasil studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan di Puskesmas Pembantu Serangan diperoleh data sebanyak 16% dari 25 orang ibu hamil berusia kurang dari 19 tahun. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan partisipasi remaja dalam meningkatkan kesehatan reproduksi remaja. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Serangan pada bulan April - Oktober 2024. Sasaran kegiatan ini yaitu kader Posyandu remaja sebanyak 49 orang. Kegiatan ini telah berhasil meningkatkan nilai rata-rata pengetahuan Kader Posyandu Remaja tentang Kesehatan Reproduksi Remaja sebelum dan setelah diberikan pendampingan, walaupun belum semua sasaran memahami tentang Kesehatan Reproduksi Remaja. Setelah kegiatan pengabdian ini, kader remaja di Keluarahan Serangan diharapkan tetap memberikan informasi tentang kesehatan reproduksi remaja kepada remaja di lingkungan sekitarnya dan melaksanakan kegiatan Posyandu remaja secara rutin setiap bulan. Kata kunci: kader; kesehatan reproduksi; Posyandu; remaja Adolescent reproductive health problems in Indonesia are increasingly complex and must be managed comprehensively and integratedly by involving elements from across related programs and sectors. One of the government's efforts to prevent and deal with this problem is through youth Posyandu activities. These activities involve healthcare workers and the community. Peer tutor-based learning can be implemented during Posyandu Remaja activities. In Serangan Village, adolescent health post activities have not yet been conducted, despite the training of adolescent health cadres by the South Denpasar District Health Center (UPTD Puskesmas III Denpasar Selatan). Preliminary studies conducted at the Serangan Sub-Health Center revealed that 16% of 25 pregnant women were under 19 years old. The aim of this community service initiative is to increase adolescents' knowledge and participation in improving their reproductive health. The activities were carried out in Serangan Village from April to October 2024, targeting 49 adolescent health cadres. This initiative successfully improved the average knowledge score of the cadres on adolescent reproductive health before and after the guidance sessions, although not all participants fully understood the topic. Following this community service activity, adolescent cadres in Serangan Village are expected to continue disseminating information about adolescent reproductive health to their peers and conduct regular monthly Posyandu Remaja activities. Abstract

The program aimed at achieving and maintaining the elimination of infectious diseases such as HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis B from mother to baby to achieve better health through a coordinated approach is called triple elimination.Based on the interviews conducted, out of 10 pregnant women who visited UPTD Puskesmas II, Denpasar Utara District Health Office, it was found that seven pregnant women did not comply with the triple elimination examination.The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between spousal support and the compliance of pregnant women in undergoing triple elimination tests.The research was conducted at UPTD Puskesmas II, Denpasar Utara District Health Office, in March-April 2024.This research is an analytical observational study using a cross-sectional design.The data collection for this research was conducted by distributing questionnaires.The respondents were 38 pregnant women.Data analysis used univariate and bivariate methods with the Chi Square test at a significance level of p<0.05.The research results show that 32 pregnant women (84.2%) received support from their husbands in carrying out the triple elimination test, and 32 pregnant women (84.2%) complied with the triple elimination test.Statistical tests yielded a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05, which can be concluded to indicate a significant relationship between spousal support and the compliance of pregnant women in undergoing triple elimination tests.Healthcare workers are expected to enhance efforts in providing integrated pregnancy care to pregnant women who seek prenatal services at healthcare facilities.

Abstract

Pregnant women who experience nutritional problems have a higher risk of complications during pregnancy, childbirth, and for the baby they give birth to.The objective of this research is to identify the characteristics of primigravida mothers with KEK, to identify the knowledge of primigravida mothers, and to determine the relationship between knowledge and the incidence of KEK in pregnant women at UPTD Puskesmas II, Denpasar North District Health Office.This research is a correlational analytical study conducted with a case-control study design.The population in this study consists of pregnant women at UPTD Puskesmas II, Denpasar North District Health Office, with a sample of 70 people divided into case and control groups, each consisting of 35 people.Analysis using the chi-square test.The research instrument consisted of a questionnaire with 30 questions.The analysis results show that a majority of respondents who do not experience Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) have good knowledge, amounting to 97.1%, while respondents who experience CED have good knowledge at 65.7%.There is a positive relationship between knowledge and the incidence of Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) in pregnant women.Pregnant women with less knowledge are 17.739 times more likely to experience Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED).Health centers are expected to optimize promotional activities, innovations, and continuously strive to enhance the integrated ANC program in order to improve pregnant women's knowledge in fulfilling nutrition during pregnancy to reduce the incidence of KEK.

Abstract

Diarrhea is the second leading cause of death after pneumonia and is the main cause of dehydration in children. The aim of the research was to determine the level of knowledge of mothers regarding administering the rotavirus vaccine in preventing diarrhea in children aged 0-1 years. This type of research is descriptive with a cross-sectional study approach. The population was all 38 mothers of children aged 0-1 years who experienced diarrhea. The sampling method is non-probability sampling, namely total sampling. The data collected is primary data. The data collection tool is a questionnaire. The research results showed that the majority of respondents were aged 20-35 years (80.2%), 44.7% of respondents had two children. As many as 60.5% of respondents had secondary education, 60.5% did not work. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that 24 mothers (63.2%) had sufficient knowledge, 8 mothers (21.1%) had good knowledge, 6 mothers (15.8%) had poor knowledge. The results of the cross tabulation showed that 21 mothers (67.7%) with sufficient knowledge were aged 20-35 years, 16 mothers (69.5%) with sufficient knowledge had secondary education and 16 mothers (69.6%) with sufficient knowledge were not working. . It can be concluded that the majority of respondents have sufficient knowledge. Based on cross tabulation, respondents with sufficient knowledge were aged 20-35 years, respondents with sufficient knowledge had at least a high school education and the majority did not work. It is hoped that health services will be more proactive in providing health education to mothers of toddlers regarding rotavirus vaccination.

Abstract

The community service program entitled “Health Promotion and Early Detection of Diabetes Mellitus through Education and Screening in Bondalem Village, Tejakula, Buleleng” was implemented in response to the increasing incidence of diabetes mellitus (DM) and the low public awareness of early detection. The activities included health education, blood glucose screening, and training for village health cadres. A total of 30 participants enthusiastically joined the program. Pre- and post-test results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge from 23% to 87%, and 10% of participants were found to have elevated blood glucose levels. Ten trained village health cadres were empowered to continue health promotion independently. This program proved effective in improving community knowledge, strengthening early detection efforts for DM, and fostering the sustainability of community-based health initiatives through collaboration between academics, health workers, and local government.
