Abstract

The performance of the HKBP Tanjung Karang Church Council members is crucial in supporting the church's vision and mission, yet it is still affected by suboptimal motivation and work ethic. Data indicate a high level of absenteeism and tardiness, reflecting low motivation. Although most work programs have been implemented, performance outcomes have not met the expected targets. This study aims to analyze the impact of motivation and work ethic on the performance of Church Council members, with the hope of providing recommendations to improve the performance and effectiveness of the church organization. The research will be conducted at HKBP Tanjung Karang from June to July 2024 using a descriptive quantitative approach, aiming to present factual and accurate information about a specific population. Field research methods will be used, with all 35 council members serving as the sample, making this a population study. The variables investigated include the independent variables, Motivation (X1) and Work Ethic (X2), and the dependent variable, Church Council Performance (Y). A Likert-scale questionnaire will be used as the data collection instrument. Quantitative analysis results show that Motivation (X1) influences Church Council Performance (Y) by 59.5%, while Work Ethic (X2) influences it by 61.2%. Simultaneously, these two variables impact Church Council Performance at HKBP Tanjung Karang by 60.5%, with the remainder influenced by other variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

The HKBP Metro Church Council has experienced significant development since its establishment, initially consisting of a small number of members who managed church activities. As the congregation grew and the complexity of tasks increased, the number of council members also rose, and they are now responsible for worship, religious activities, as well as administrative, social, and financial aspects. Although the quality of human resources has improved through training and the application of technology, low motivation and self-confidence among the members remain challenges, evidenced by a delay rate exceeding 10% each month. Efforts to enhance self-confidence through training have not been fully effective, and visits by the council to the congregation, along with education and health programs, need to be improved. Further research is needed to understand the impact of motivation and self-confidence on the performance of the council and to design interventions to improve church services. This research will be conducted at the HKBP Metro Church, chosen for its relevance to the research focus and for having a sufficient number of councils to serve as a sample. The study will take place from June to July 2024, using a descriptive quantitative approach. This type of research aims to present facts and characteristics of the population systematically and accurately. The method employed is field research with a quantitative approach, which is objective in nature. The population in this study consists of 42 members of the HKBP Metro Church Council. The researcher will include all members except themselves, resulting in a sample size of 41. This study is categorized as population research. The variables used include independent variables, namely Motivation (X1) and Self-Confidence (X2), and a dependent variable, which is Council Performance (Y), influenced by the independent variables. Based on the data analysis and hypothesis testing conducted, conclusions have been drawn regarding the factors influencing the performance of the HKBP Metro Church Council. First, the Motivation variable (X1) has an influence of 41.1% on Council Performance (Y). Second, the Self-Confidence variable (X2) also has an influence of 41.1% on Council Performance (Y). Third, both Motivation (X1) and Self-Confidence (X2) simultaneously have an influence of 57.5% on Council Performance (Y) at the HKBP Metro Church.

Abstract

School supervisors, as one of the key figures in educational development, are responsible for ensuring the smooth implementation of education and teaching in schools. Enhancing the quality of education and teaching in schools is not an easy task. As mandated by the Indonesian Minister of National Education Regulation No. 12 of 2007 concerning school supervisor standards, supervisors are obliged to carry out their supervisory duties in accordance with these regulations. Specifically, supervisory services, as one of their competencies, aim to foster cooperation among personnel so that everyone collectively moves towards achieving educational goals through their willingness to carry out their respective duties efficiently and effectively. Another factor influencing teacher performance at SMP Subrayon 07 Rawapitu, Tulang Bawang Regency, is teacher discipline. The school administration also plays a role in managing teachers to ensure compliance with all rules and norms established by the school, thereby promoting disciplined and effective teaching performance. However, a notable phenomenon at SMP Subrayon 07 Rawapitu is the tardiness of some teachers, indicating a decline in teacher discipline within the institution. Teacher performance and achievement reflect the outcomes achieved by individuals in fulfilling their assigned tasks, based on their competence, experience, dedication, and time management. This study employs a quantitative descriptive research approach, with 32 research respondents. The study examines three variables: two independent variables (X1 and X2) and one dependent variable (Y). The independent variables are School Supervisor Supervision (X1) and Teacher Discipline (X2), while the dependent variable is Teacher Performance (Y). Based on data analysis, the research findings confirm the following hypotheses: There is an influence of School Supervisor Supervision (X1) on Teacher Performance (Y), with an impact level of 49.9%. There is an influence of Teacher Discipline (X2) on Teacher Performance (Y), with an impact level of 38.8%. There is a combined influence of School Supervisor Supervision (X1) and Teacher Discipline (X2) on Teacher Performance (Y), with an impact level of 52.8%. Abstract

This study examines the effect of human resource quality and education & training on employee achievement at the Population and Civil Registration Service of Pesisir Barat District. Using a quantitative approach, the research employed a census method with 44 employees as respondents. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed with multiple regression, including validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. The findings reveal that, simultaneously, human resource quality and education & training significantly affect employee achievement. However, partial analysis indicates that education & training exerts a stronger influence compared to human resource quality. The study contributes by highlighting the strategic role of continuous training programs in enhancing public sector performance, particularly in local government institutions in Indonesia. Theoretically, this research enriches discussions on human capital and training effectiveness, while practically, it provides recommendations for public managers to prioritize structured and sustainable training interventions.   Keywords: human resource quality, education and training, employee achievement, public sector
