Abstract

Dalam pembelajaran bahasa, salah satu keterampilan dasar yang harus dikuasai adalah speaking. Pada kenyataannya, pembelajaran speaking memiliki banyak hambatan. Wayang merupakan salah satu media tradisional yang dapat diterapkan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggunakan wayang sebagai media pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris bagi mahasiswa, khususnya untuk pengajaran speaking atau ketrampilan berbicara. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa PAI UNSIQ yang berjumlah 35 mahasiswa dengan metode mengambil satu kelas sample secara random. Penilaian dilakukan dengan cara melakukan interview, uji pre-test, dan post-test. Dari hasil interview ditemukan bahwa kemampuan berbicara mahasiswa masih jauh dari standart. Selanjutnya, sesudah dilakukan tretment dengan menggunakan wayang, hasil analisis menunjukkan t hitung > 1.995 daripada t tabel, serta peningkatan hasil belajar dengan<g>hitung = 0,49 yang berarti kategori peningkatan belajar sedang. Dari hasil uji pre-test dan post test dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang siginifican pada kemampuan berbicara Bahasa Inggris mahasiswa dengan menggunakan wayang sebagai media pengajaran.

Abstract

Children's literature is used as a medium forChildren's literature is a medium for the formation of children's character. Therefore, children's literature should be reviewed so that children's moral values can be optimally taught. The purpose of this research is to study and review children's literature before it is given to children or students at school. The approach to studying children's literature uses a didactic bibliotherapy model or therapy using book media. The study is based on library research. The book studied is a children's book entitled "The Magic Watermelon Seeds", which was published by the Ministry of Education and Culture in cooperation with Room to Read. The results of the research show that the book contains seven implicit moral values. The seven moral values are: 1) emulating good character; 2) being careful in doing; 3) gracefully accepting fate; 4) generous, sincere, and compassionate to everyone; 5) rewarding people who do something expecting conditions; 6) generous to brothers; and 7) living harmoniously and side by side. The content of these moral values can be transmitted to children through a didactic bibliotherapy approach using the method of reading aloud individually or in groups.

Abstract

This activity aimed to strengthen the literacy movement in early childhood through the habit of reading aloud at school and home. Gerdasi was a series of literacy-strengthening programs implemented at Kindergarten/RA Al Hidayah in the form of reading aloud at school and socializing the selection of children's books for parents. Gerdasi was held in April-June 2023 and attended by all children and parents/guardians of Kindergarten/RA Al Hidayah. The stages of implementing the community service activities included: 1) laying the foundation; 2) research design; 3) data gathering and analysis; and 4) acting on findings. Based on observations during reading-aloud activities, the data showed that more than 90% of children liked reading-aloud activities and enjoyed every discussion process. However, children's interest in books is not facilitated well at home. These findings became the basis for carrying out follow-up efforts in the form of socializing the selection of children's books with parents/guardians as the target. This socialization explained important points about literacy facts, choosing good children's books, as well as alternatives for choosing e-books. It was hoped that parents' knowledge regarding sites that provide e-books for children's storybooks could be an inspiration for parents to provide children with affordable reading materials

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to conduct a study and review of children's literature before the children's literature is given to children or students at school. The surgical approach to children's literature uses a didactic bibliotherapy model or therapy using a book as a medium. Children's literature is considered able to improve the character in a child through the images that are built in the child's subconscious. The more positive images that are built, the more positive character in the child will be. Didactic bibliotherapy is an alternative that can deliver the positive values ​​contained in children's literature. Didactic bibliotherapy can work both preventively and curatively in the development of children's character. This study uses a library research type in conducting a study and review of children's literature. The book that was studied was a children's book entitled “Biji Semangka Ajaib”. This book is a book published by the Ministry of Education and Culture in collaboration with Room to Read. The study and surgery of children's literature before the application of didactic bibliotherapy is very important because it becomes the core of bibliotherapy itself. This children's literature review is used as the basis for applying didactic bibliotherapy both personally and in groups.
