Abstract

The implementation of family planning can reduce the burden of development for the realization of the happiness and welfare of the people of Indonesia. The choice of an appropriate contraceptive method and following the conditions and needs can prevent a significant population growth rate. This study aims to analyze trends in the use of contraceptives and planning for contraceptive use among women of childbearing age in the province of West Sulawesi. The design used in this study was a cross-sectional survey using secondary data sources from the 2017 IDHS West Sulawesi province. The study population was all merried women in Indonesia with a sample size of 1682 peoples. The results showed that age group, education level, residence, and socioeconomic status influence the propensity for use and planning for the use of contraceptives. Whereas literacy only affects the planning of contraceptive use. A special approach is needed for women and their husbands to convince them of the benefits of using contraceptive devices to prosper their lives.

Abstract

Current conditions show that the coronavirus is not an epidemic that can be ignored. When viewed from the symptoms, ordinary people would think that it was only common influenza, but for medical analysis, this virus is quite dangerous and deadly. Currently, the effort that can be done to avoid the transmission of Covid-19 is to take preventive measures as early as possible. This article aims to review the extent of knowledge of Literature Review by reviewing five papers from the Science Direct and Google Scholar databases. The results showed that the five articles reviewed showed that students, health workers, and the general public gained independent knowledge about Covid-19 in different ways. The knowledge is formed from information obtained from the internet and social media, TV, newspapers/magazines, discussions with peers, and from lessons learned in college. Therefore, the government should pay attention to the dissemination of information related to Covid-19 so that the public can receive accurate information as an effort to form knowledge so that accurate preventive measures can be obtained against Covid-19 in the community.

Abstract

Handling of nutritional problems of children under five can be done through the development of food products in the form of Moringa leaf flour cookies and Moringa seed flour cookies given to toddlers, and then assessed an increase in body weight and nutritional status. The purpose of the study was to look at differences in body weight and nutritional status after intervention from Moringa leaf flour cookies and Moringa seed flour cookies in toddlers. The study design uses a Randomized Controlled Trial Single Blind Pre-post Study. The study was conducted in the working area of the Tampa Padang Public Health Center in August-October 2019 on children aged 3-5 years. The number of samples was 50 people, 25 children have interfered with Moringa leaf flour cookies, and 25 children were intervened by Moringa seed flour. Analysis of nutrient consumption of toddler foods using the Nutri Survey program. Maternal nutrition consumption is expressed in percent of RDA. Statistical analysis using the T-test. The results showed changes in body weight before and after giving Moringa seed cookies and Moringa leaf cookies (p=0,025). There is a difference in the increase in weight of the two groups of samples, but statistically has not been able to improve the nutritional status, both those who were given Moringa seed flour substitute cookies and those who were given Moringa leaf flour substitution cookies (p=0,495). In conclusion, there is a change in toddler's body weight, but it is not yet significant to the nutritional status of toddlers. Penanganan masalah gizi anak balita dapat dilakukan melalui pengembangan produk pangan berupa cookies tepung daun kelor dan cookies tepung biji kelor yang diberikan kepada balita, selanjutnya dinilai peningkatan Berat Badan dan Status gizinya. Tujuan penelitian yaitu melihat perbedaan berat badan dan status gizi setelah diintervensi cookies tepung daun kelor dan cookies tepung biji kelor pada anak balita. Desain penelitian menggunakan Randomized Controlled Trial Single Blind Pre-post Study. Penelitian dilakukan di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Tampa Padang Kecamatan Kaluku, Kabupaten Mamuju Sulawesi Barat. Waktu penelitian dimulai pada bulan Agustus – Oktober 2019 terhadap anak balita berumur 3-5 tahun. Jumlah sampel 50 orang, 25 anak diintervensi cookies tepung daun kelor dan 25 anak diintervensi tepung biji kelor. Analisis zat gizi konsumsi pangan anak balita menggunakan program Nutri Survei. Konsumsi gizi ibu dinyatakan dalam persen AKG. Analisis statistik menggunakan uji T. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perubahan berat badan sebelum dan setelah pemberian cookies biji kelor dan cookies daun kelor dengan nilai p=0,025 (p-value<0,05). Terdapat perbedaan peningkatan BB kedua kelompok sampel, namun secara statistik belum bisa memperbaiki status gizi, baik yang diberi cookies subtitusi tepung biji kelor maupun yang diberi cookies subtitusi tepung daun kelor dengan nilai p=0,495 (p-value>0,05). Kesimpulan, terdapat perubahan berat badan balita namun belum signifikan terhadap status gizi balita  yang mendapatkan cookies berbahan daun kelor.

Abstract

Malnutrition problems in Mamuju is still high in 2014. The results of nutritional assement status (PSG) in West Sulawesi on 2014 is underweight 39.7%, very underweight 20.5% and stunting 39.9% from the highest of five districts. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between the incidence of behavior Kadarzi with undeweight and stunting. Samples of this study are children aged 0 – 24 months with total population with 150 children. Independent variable is Kadarzi behavior of the family, dependent variabel is nutritional status and sub variable is age, gender, body weight and body lenght. Samples were obtained through interviews and direct measurements from children. The method is analitic survey with cross sectional study. Statistical test with T test (Independent T-Test). The result is there was a relation between behavior of kadarzi with underweight and thin, there is no relation between behavior of kadarzi and stunting.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition in which a child experiences growth disturbances so that the child's height is lower or shorter than the standard age. One of the efforts to prevent stunting is by providing assistance to pregnant women. Cadres as the spearhead of health workers who are near pregnant women and mothers with toddlers are expected to be able to monitor pregnant women and mothers with toddlers in efforts to prevent stunting. This study aims to analyze the evaluation of the performance of cadres in efforts to prevent stunting. The study used qualitative methods with in-depth interviews with four key informants and focus group discussions . In-depth interviews were conducted with 4 health cadres, and a Focus Group Discussion involving the  Leaders of Organization of regional apparatus for family planning affairs , District Bappeda, Village Government, Health Center and  Nutrition service staff. The data is then processed through the content analysis method. The data is then reduced through a coding process, summarized and drilled into partitions or sections that focus on questions. The results of the study show that, until now there has been no specific program in the context of efforts to prevent stunting to be carried out by cadres, even though there are currently various types of cadres besides health cadres who are known to be at posyandu, there are also other cadres who formed for the prevention of stunting, however, the implementation of the tasks has not been maximized because there is no specific program that is used as a reference in carrying out the tasks. In conclusion, that the performance of cadres is currently not optimal and focused on efforts to prevent stunting.

Abstract

Produksi pisang di Kabupaten Mamuju yang melimpah namun di sisi lain pisang cepat mengalami kerusakan, sehingga diperlukan inovasi untuk meningkatkan nilai mutu pisang. Inovasi dapat berupa pengolahan pisang menjadi tepung pisang termodifikasi. Kabupaten Mamuju juga merupakan salah satu daerah yang potensial untuk pengembangan UMKM sektor pangan. Namun kenyataannya tingkat produktivitas dan kualitas produk inovasi yang masih rendah. Olehnya itu dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan UMKM terhadap pengembangan produk olahan tinggi serat tersubstitusi tepung pisang. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menggunakan ceramah, tanya jawab, demonstrasi dan praktik. Hasil dan luaran yang dicapai adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra dalam pemanfaatan pangan lokal sebagai pangan fungsional, yaitu pembuatan tepung pisang modifikasi dan pengembangan produk berbasis tepung pisang. Pengetahuan mitra dengan kategori cukup mengalami peningkatan dari 25% menjadi 90%. Meningkatnya keterampilan diukur dari kemampuan seluruh peserta dalam mempraktikkan pembuatan tepung pisang modifikasi dan hasil uji hedonik yang menunjukkan bahwa produk yang dihasilkan disukai panelis berdasarkan atribut warna, aroma, rasa, tekstur dan keseluruhan. Diharapkan mitra dapat mengaplikasikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan pengembangan olahan produk dari tepung pisang dalam menjalankan kegiatan UMKM di Kabupaten Mamuju sehingga dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dan kesejahteraan. Selain itu, tepung pisang yang dibuat dapat diaplikasikan ke produk olahan pangan lain dan dapat menggantikan penggunaan tepung terigu dalam mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan pangan lokal sebagai pangan fungsional dan diversifikasi pangan.
