Abstract

The aim of this research is to modify the environment that lacks water, especially during the dry season. The study was conducted by taking into account the conditions in Merauke-Papua where during the dry season water becomes a limiting factor in crop cultivation activities. The study was conducted at the Screen House of the Faculty of Agriculture, Musamus University, Merauke in September to December 2013, designed in a Randomized Block Design consisting of 4 treatments for Water Provision Intervals and BioVAM with 3 replications so that there were 12 experimental units. Each experimental unit contained 12 plants and used 50% of them as sample plants. The results showed that the Water Delivery Interval affected the growth and production of tomato plants. The treatment of water every day produces the best growth and production compared to other treatments, but because the study is directed to address water as a limiting factor in the dry season, for the cultivation of tomato plants, water supply is recommended to be carried out at intervals of no more than 3 days. Production of tomatoes produced from the treatment of water every day is 6221.43 g per plot (10.369 tons per hectare), the treatment of giving water every third day is 3205.47 g per plot (5.342 tons per hectare), from the treatment of giving water every the fifth day was 1205.85 g per plot (2,009 tons per hectare), and the production resulting from the treatment of water every seventh day was 590.50 g per plot (0.984 tons per hectare). The results of this study do not yet reflect the actual situation in the field, so it is necessary to conduct a similar study in the field with a tighter treatment interval and a more appropriate volume of water. Kata-kata kunci: Metode, Eksperimen, Biologi.

Abstract

Abstract

The study aimed to find out the prospects of Development integrated farming business of beef cattle and cashew nuts. The study was carried out from March to May 2021. Respondents of the study consisted of beef cattle farmers who also grow cashew nuts. Sample of the location were determined purposively for a reason that not all sub districts are located in Muna regency, only a few out of 22 sub districts in total. Samples of sub districts and villages were selected purposively on a consideration that there were both beef cattle cattle and cashew nuts in the selected sub districts and villages. Samples of cattle breeders were determined with a random sampling, meaning that all breeders had equal opportunities to be selected. Data and the study were obtained by means of direct interviews, which were analyzed by Feasibility Tally Sheet. Based on the research results can be concluded. The research results show that integrated cattle and cashew farming has prospects for development with each rating, namely technical (7), economic (7), social (4), financial (4) and factors management (6) .

Abstract

Mangrove ecosystems play an important role in maintaining the balance of coastal environments and supporting the socio-economic sustainability of coastal communities. However, community understanding of the functions and benefits of mangroves still needs to be improved so that coastal resources can be managed sustainably. This community service activity aims to increase community knowledge and awareness of the importance of mangrove conservation through outreach activities for community groups in Urumb Village, Merauke Regency. The activity was conducted on November 20, 2025, through collaboration between PT Internusa Jaya Sejahtera, Musamus University, and the Urumb Village Government. The methods used included the delivery of educational materials, participatory discussions, and the identification of potential mangrove utilization for local communities. The results of the activity showed that participants demonstrated high enthusiasm and an increased understanding of the ecological functions of mangroves as coastal protectors, habitats for aquatic organisms, and carbon sinks. In addition, the community began to understand the economic potential of mangroves, such as traditional fisheries, crab cultivation, and ecosystem-based tourism development. This activity represents an initial step in strengthening community capacity as managers of coastal resources and supporting sustainable mangrove conservation programs in Urumb Village.
