Abstract

Penerapan pendekatan pembejaran merupakan bagian integral untuk menunjang keberhasilan belajar siswa, tetapi sejauh ini, guru belum mahir dalam menerapkan pendekatan yang sesuai dengan karakteristik materi ajar di dalam proses pembelajaran di ruang kelas, akibatnya siswa belum sepenuhnya mampu memperoleh nilai maksimal di dalam proses pembelajaran, termasuk di dalam proses pembelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas IX pada mata pelajaran IPS di SMP Negeri 1 Pallangga Kabupaten Gowa melalui pendekatan Reciprocal Teaching. Penelitian  ini dikategorisasi ke dalam jenis penelitian tindakan kelas yang melibatkan siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 1 Pallangga Kabupaten Gowa sebagai subjek penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan reciprocal teaching memberikan dampak yang cukup signifikan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar IPS siswa. Pada siklus I persentase ketuntasan 46,43%  yaitu 13 orang yang tuntas dari 28 siswa dan meningkat pada siklus II  dengan persentase ketuntasan 85,71% yaitu 24 orang yang tuntas dari 28 siswa. Nilai rata - rata pada siklus I yaitu 60,61 meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 80. Temuan penelitian ini memiliki implikasi penting bagi guru untuk menerapkan pendekatan reciprocal teaching dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar IPS siswa SMP.

Abstract

This study seeks to analyze the socio-cultural dynamics among multiethnic and religious communities within the Bosowa Indah housing area of Makassar city, with an emphasis on promoting social integration. Utilizing qualitative methods through a case study approach, data were gathered via direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research focuses on social integration and socio-cultural relations, drawing upon theories grounded in functional structural paradigms, including Parsons' AGIL theory and Durkheim's concept of social solidarity, as well as symbolic interactionism and additional population theories. The findings indicate that Bosowa Indah is inhabited by a diverse urban population, with social interactions categorized into three types: formal interaction, informal interaction, and limited interaction. These interactions give rise to social and cultural products, reflected in established systems of values and norms, habits, and community practices that encourage social integration. Social integration is assessed through various dimensions: the establishment of trust among residents, the cultivation of shared values, cultural practices that foster a harmonious and peaceful society, and the development of a common identity. The results of this study offer significant theoretical insights for the advancement of sociology, particularly in the realm of urban sociology within a functional structural paradigm. Additionally, these findings can serve as a valuable reference for multiethnic community groups aiming to sustain social integration.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the implementation of Discovery Learning in fostering critical thinking skills among fifth-grade students in Social Studies at SD Inpres Pangkabinanga, Pallangga District, Gowa Regency. Additionally, it sought to determine the forms of development of critical thinking skills among these students. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method, utilizing data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings revealed that the implementation of Discovery Learning in fostering critical thinking skills among fifth-grade students at SD Inpres Pangkabinanga was generally effective, though there were shortcomings in the reflection stage. The development of critical thinking skills among these students was gradually progressing and well-realized during the stages of Discovery Learning, with indicators including communication, creativity, problem-solving, openness, argumentation, confidence, analytical thinking, and rational and logical thinking. However, some indicators of skill development were not optimal due to factors such as shyness, lack of interest, or excessive joking among some students. Nevertheless, these issues could be addressed by teachers through motivating and maintaining classroom focus during the learning process. Notably, students demonstrated good proficiency in argumentation, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and rational and logical thinking, while areas needing improvement included communication, openness, creativity, and confidence.
