Abstract

Kata kunci : Anemia, tablet Fe, remaja Abstrack Background: Background: One of the causes of anemia in teenage girls is menstruation which can occur between the ages of 10-16 years or during early adolescence. The volume of blood lost during menstruation results in iron loss of 12-15 mg per month or 0.4-0.5 mg per day. During menstruation, women not only experience iron loss but also experience basal loss, so in total women experience iron loss per day of 1.25 mg. The volume of blood that comes out every month is around 30-50 cc. This condition causes women to experience anemia. Anemia is characterized by a low concentration of hemoglobin (Hb) or hematocrit from the threshold value caused by low production of red blood cells (erythrocytes) and Hb, increased erythrocyte damage or excessive blood loss. Objective: To determine compliance with taking Fe tablets on the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls. Method: This research is a descriptive quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. The number of samples in this study was 123 female students, taken by total sampling. The instruments used were the Adherence to Taking Fe tablets questionnaire and the Hb test, with statistical tests using Chi Square. Results: The results of this study showed that 106 female students did not comply with taking Fe tablets and 66 female students experienced anemia, with a p-value of 0.036 (<0.05) with a POR: 3.025. Conclusion: there is a significant relationship between adherence to consuming Fe tablets and the incidence of anemia in grade 9 female students at SMP Negeri I Magelang and female students who are not compliant in consuming Fe tablets are 3 times more likely to experience anemia than female students who are compliant in consuming Fe tablets.
