Abstract

Metacognitive is the ability to control cognitive aspects, while critical thinking is the ability to think rationally and clearly in understanding the logical connections between various ideas. Both are necessary in 21st -century education. This study aims to analyze students' metacognitive and their critical thinking skills in thermochemistry material and the correlation of metacognitive with critical thinking. The population was the third-grade private high school students consisted of four schools. Each school was randomly selected by one class as a sample, with a total sample of 150 students. Metacognitive skills instrument is an integrated essay test of metacognitive skills and critical thinking. The results showed that most of the students' metacognitive skills in the developing category (51.67%), most of the students' critical thinking skills in the sufficient category (65.33%), the students' metacognitive and critical thinking skill are positively correlated. The contribution of metacognitive abilities to critical thinking is at 72.0%. The results indicate that students' metacognitive and critical thinking skills need to be empowered to improving the quality of learning.

Abstract

Motivation has an important role in improving learning quality. Scrapbook media can be an alternative learning media because it can be equipped with stimulus images that can attract interest and stimulate learning motivation. This research was a research development by adapting the ADDIE model. Scrapbook validity is measured from the results of expert and empirical validation. Expert validation includes media experts and material experts, while empirical validation by teacher and student. Product quality is the result of the implementation and the responses by students and teachers. Scrapbook effectiveness is seen from the increase in students' learning motivation when learning to use scrapbook. The instruments used were: teacher and student interview guidelines, material and media expert validation, field validation for teachers and students, and student motivation. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the quality of the scrapbook media was stated to be very valid with an average rating was 3.725 expert validators and the empirical validator was 3.45 with a valid category. The results of the implementation of the scrapbook media on total student learning motivation also increased by 24.80%, and the highest increase was in the aspect of initiative in learning which amounted to 33.40%.Keywords: Learning motivation, learning media, scrapbook

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pupuk organik cair limbah rumah tangga terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman tomat serta mengetahui volume efektif dari pupuk organik cair yang memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman tomat. Penelitian adalah penelitian eksperimen menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan volume pupuk per polybag yaitu 0 (kontrol), 50, 100, dan 150 mL. Tiap perlakuan diulang 5 kali. Variabel yang diukur adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah buah, dan berat basah buah. Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis varians dan diuji lanjut Tukey dengan menggunakan program SPSS Ver.18. Hasil analisis varians diperoleh bahwa perlakuan pupuk organik cair limbah rumah tangga berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap variabel tinggi tanaman, jumlah buah, dan berat basah buah, dimana masing-masing variabel menunjukkan nilai signifikansi lebih kecil dari 0.01. Hasil uji lanjut diperoleh bahwa perlakuan yang paling baik adalah perlakuan dengan volume 150 mL/polybag untuk variabel tinggi tanaman, jumlah buah, dan berat basah buah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas ekstrak daun bandotan (Ageratum conyzoides) sebagai pembasmi hama nabati pada ulat buah (Helicoverpa armigera). Pengujian efektivitas ekstrak daun bandotan menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang meliputi lima perlakuan konsentrasi yaitu: 5, 10, 15, 20, dan 25%, masing-masing perlakuan terdiri dari tiga ulangan. Tiap perlakuan terdapat 10 ekor ulat buah sehingga total yang digunakan 150 ekor. Data mortalitas dianalisis varians (ANAVA) dan diuji lanjut dengan uji Tuckey menggunakan program SPSS Ver.18. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa konsentrasi ekstrak bandotan yang efektif untuk membunuh hama ulat buah adalah konsentrasi 25% dengan mortalitas hama 100%. Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa tanaman bandotan dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif bahan pembasmi hama secara alami.

Abstract

The quality of teachers is a problem faced in the world of education. Quality teachers can be achieved when teacher professionalism is formed. Professional teachers are teachers who have a number of competencies, namely: pedagogic, personality, social, and professional competencies. One way to improve teacher quality is to ensure that teachers reflect and make continuous improvement through classroom action research training. This service aims to deepen the knowledge and appreciation of prospective teachers about how to think and work collaboratively in solving problems in the classroom and to train skills in conducting classroom action research. Activities are carried out using Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) and Community Empowerment (CE) approaches using extension methods (lectures and discussions), practice, and mentoring. The results of the service implementation activities showed a very enthusiastic response for prospective teacher alumni where they wanted this kind of activity to be carried out regularly and if possible in a larger scope. From the results of the analysis of the results of the pre-test, it was revealed that the knowledge of the Alumni about CAR was not complete and still mixed with the type of quasi-experimental research. On the other hand, it was also revealed that knowledge about the instruments and observers in CAR was still minimal. After being given a detailed explanation by 5 presenters, they understood it, where almost 100% of the participants had correctly answered questions about CAR. Abstract

The problems in learning chemistry faced by teachers at school include: (1) how to visualize chemical molecular structures that are still manual, namely drawing on whiteboards or sometimes with the Microsoft Word program which is familiar to most students will give results that are not in accordance with the rules of writing symbols; (2) the aspect of the teacher's and students' lack of insight regarding the Chemsketch software for drawing chemical molecular structures; and (3) aspects of students' enthusiasm and interest in self-development which are still limited. Of all the problems faced by partners, the solution offered is a Chemical Molecule Visualization Training activity with Chemsketch Software for High School Students in Kupang City, NTT. With this training, students are expected to have knowledge and skills in using Chemsketch Software in drawing chemical molecular structures and attracting students' learning interest and arousing students' curiosity through observing the material displayed through visualization of chemical molecular shapes.

Abstract

Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini bertujuan meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran yang diukur melalui aktivitas belajar peserta didik, aktivitas mengajar guru dan hasil belajar peserta didik melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning pada materi perubahan lingkungan di kelas X IPS 2 SMA Negeri 3 Kupang. Subyek penelitian berjumlah 35 orang yang terdiri dari 14 orang laki-laki dan 21 orang perempuan. Penelitian dilakukan dalam 2 siklus, setiap siklus terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, tindakan dan pengamatan, serta refleksi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik observasi dan tes. Instrumen pengumpulan Data yang digunakan adalah instrument lembar observasi aktivitas guru dan peserta didik, dan instrument tes  berupa soal pretest dan soal posttest. Hasil penelitian diperoleh : 1) aktivitas peserta didik berdasarkan hasil observasi meningkat sebesar 14,32 %, 2) hasil observasi aktivitas guru meningkat sebesar 9,44%, 3) Hasil belajar peserta didik sebesar 8,57% . Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model  Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan aktivitas guru dan peserta didik serta hasil belajar peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

The differentiated learning innovation training in Malaka Regency involved 50 teachers to enhance their competencies in developing strategies responsive to students’ needs and local contexts. The training focused on three aspects: understanding differentiated learning, utilizing Google Sites, and integrating local wisdom, delivered through lectures, practice, and mentoring. Evaluation results indicated significant improvements: technology use increased by 94.4%, local wisdom integration by 72.7%, and understanding of differentiated learning by 66.7%. Participants’ satisfaction was rated very high, with average scores above 4.5 across materials, methods, facilitators, and instructional media. These findings demonstrate that the training effectively strengthened teachers’ pedagogical capacity while providing a sustainable professional development model to improve learning quality in Malaka Regency
