Abstract

The community at the Marturia Oesapa Selatan Church has a population of 600 people and 26 of them work as farmers, retirees and traders. Based on observations and surveys conducted in February 2023, the problems encountered are still using inorganic fertilizers for agriculture, fertilizing ornamental plants and fertilizing horticultural plants in the yard of the house for more practical reasons, but the community does not yet know the impact of using inorganic fertilizers. The purpose of holding this PKM activity is to increase public understanding of the negative impacts of using inorganic fertilizers, increase understanding of the benefits of using organic fertilizers and provide training on how to process household waste into organic fertilizer. This community service took place at the Marturia Oesapa Selatan Church in Kupang City on Wednesday 1 March 2023 with 26 participants. The first stage is to conduct field observations and coordinate with the Head of the Marturia Oesapa Selatan Church regarding the cooperation agreement and the place and time of implementation. The second stage is preparing training materials. The third stage is the implementation of training on processing household waste into organic fertilizer. As a result of PKM activities, participants understand the importance of organic fertilizer for plantations, ornamental plants, horticultural crops and utilization of natural resources around them to be processed into bokashi organic fertilizer. Participants also have the skills to make bokashi organic fertilizer after participating in this activity, judging from the success of carrying out the work steps given during counseling and technical instructions in making organic fertilizer. Abstract

The problems in learning chemistry faced by teachers at school include: (1) how to visualize chemical molecular structures that are still manual, namely drawing on whiteboards or sometimes with the Microsoft Word program which is familiar to most students will give results that are not in accordance with the rules of writing symbols; (2) the aspect of the teacher's and students' lack of insight regarding the Chemsketch software for drawing chemical molecular structures; and (3) aspects of students' enthusiasm and interest in self-development which are still limited. Of all the problems faced by partners, the solution offered is a Chemical Molecule Visualization Training activity with Chemsketch Software for High School Students in Kupang City, NTT. With this training, students are expected to have knowledge and skills in using Chemsketch Software in drawing chemical molecular structures and attracting students' learning interest and arousing students' curiosity through observing the material displayed through visualization of chemical molecular shapes.

Abstract

Peneltian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model pengembagan Dick and Carrey yang dimodifikasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui wujud hasil pengembangan video pembelajaran kimia berbantuan kinemaster dan mengetahui tingkat validitas pada materi sistem koloid untuk siswa kelas XI SMA/MA. Prosedur pengembangan yang ditempuh untuk menghasilkan produk dibagi menjadi 4 tahap, yaitu: (1) menentukan materi yang akan dikembangkan, (2) melaksanakan desain dan pengembangan, (3) memproduksi software atau mengemas materi pembelajaran bahan ajar digital interaktif, dan (4) melakukan evaluasi formatif dan merevisi produk pengembangan. Evaluasi terhadap produk video pembelajaran kimia terdiri dari dua langkah utama, yaitu validasi atau uji ahli dan uji respon siswa sebagai pengguna. Uji ahli akan dinilai oleh tiga ahli yaitu ahli instrumen, ahli materi dan ahli media. Uji coba terhadap produk video pembelajaran terdiri dari uji perorangan yang terdiri dari 3 orang, uji kelompok kecil 9 orang dan uji kelompok besar 30 orang mahasiswa semester satu pendidikan kimia Universitas Nusa Cendana Kupang. Hasil penilaian ahli instrumen terhadap angket termasuk kategori sangat baik dengan persentase keidealan keseluruhan 88,57%. Hasil validasi ahli materi dan ahli media terhadap kelayakan video pembelajaran ini, memiliki kategori sangat baik dengan persentase keidealan keseluruhan berturut-turut 86,33% dan 87,5%. Hasil penilaian uji perorangan terhadap video pembelajaran ini sangat baik dengan persentase keidealan 92%, uji kelompok kecil 93,11%, dan uji kelompok besar terhadap video pembelajaran ini sangat baik dengan persentase keidealan 92,90%.Berdasarkan hasil penilaian uji ahli dan uji coba yang terdiri atas uji perorangan, uji kelompok kecil dan uji kelompok besar terhadap video pembelajaran pada materi sistem koloid di SMA ini layak digunakan.

Abstract

The training activity for creating innovative learning media in the independent curriculum was carried out in order to develop the competence and skills of teachers related to creating creative and interesting learning media. The activity was carried out in Kolbano, South Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province in 2024. The basis for its implementation was the need for teachers to develop their competence in utilizing technology in creating learning media according to the demands of the current independent curriculum. This activity aims to improve teacher competence in utilizing technology to design interesting and innovative learning. The innovative learning media that were the topic of this training were Google Sites, Wordwall and QuizWhizzer. Teachers in Kolbano generally only teach using lecture and group discussion methods, and use conventional learning media such as power point displays and video materials. As a result, students are less motivated and feel bored in learning activities, while the nature of the independent curriculum demands active interaction of students in learning. Therefore, through this training, teachers are trained and assisted in developing innovative learning media until the product is produced and used in learning. This learning media can be presented interactively and attractively so that it can motivate students to participate in learning. Teachers will also be more creative in innovating to develop media that attracts students' interest in accordance with the nature of the independent curriculum.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition characterized by a child being too small compared to children of the same age. Simply put, stunting refers to the failure of a child's growth. The cause may be due to malnutrition during the growing period of the pregnant woman and child. Supplementary nutrition (PMT) is needed to address malnutrition that occurs in the age group of malnourished infants. It plays an important role in both the health, growth and development of the child. For this reason, the KKN team of Universitas Persatuan Guru 1945 NTT conducted community service in Manulai 2 Village, Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara Province by conducting a counseling program on the prevention of stunting and additional food for mothers and children using the Community Education method, namely counseling which aims to increase understanding and awareness about the prevention of stunting and additional food for mothers and children. Counseling on the prevention of stunting and additional food for mothers and children has been successfully implemented. This activity increases community awareness about the importance of balanced nutrition to prevent stunting, with this increased knowledge, mothers can implement a healthier diet for their children. Increased knowledge and awareness of the community is expected to reduce stunt-ing rates in the region. Keywords: supplementary food; stunting prevention Abstrak: Stunting (kerdil) Ini adalah kondisi yang ditandai dengan ukuran anak yang terlalu kecil dibandingkan dengan anak pada usia yang sama. Sederhananya, stunting mengacu pada kegagalan pertumbuhan anak. Penyebabnya mungkin karena kekurangan gizi pada masa pertumbuhan ibu hamil dan anak. Pemberian nutrisi tambahan (PMT) diperlukan untuk mengatasi gizi buruk yang terjadi pada kelompok usia bayi gizi buruk. Ini memainkan peran penting baik dalam kesehatan, pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak. Untuk itu, tim KKN Universitas Persatuan Guru 1945 NTT melakukan pengabdian  masyarakat di Kelurahan Manulai 2 Kota Kupang Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur dengan melakukan program Penyuluhan tentang pencegahan stunting dan makanan tambahan bagi ibu dan anak dengan menggunakan metode Pendidikan Masyarakat yaitu Penyuluhan yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman serta kesadaran tentang pencegahan stunting dan makanan tambahan bagi ibu dan anak. Penyuluhan tentang pencegahan stunting dan makanan tambahan bagi ibu dan anak telah berhasil dilaksanakan dengan baik. Kegiatan ini meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya gizi seimbang untuk mencegah stunting, dengan meningkatnya pengetahuan ini, ibu-ibu dapat menerapkan pola makan yang lebih sehat untuk anak-anak mereka. Peningkatan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat diharapkan dapat mengurangi angka stunting di wilayah tersebut. Kata kunci: makanan tambahan; pencegahan stunting

Abstract

Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) is extracted coconut oil containing medium chain fatty acids that have been believed to have many health functions. These fatty acids are easily digested and absorbed by the intestines because the size of the molecules is relatively small so that they can be directly burned by the body to produce energy. In addition, VCO contains lauric acid which can dissolve the virus membrane in the form of lipids so that it will interfere with the immunity of the virus, so that the virus becomes inactive. VCO is processed without heating, no additional chemicals, dyes, and preservatives so that it can survive as pure vegetable oil so that it does not change the composition or characteristics of the oil. VCO has high economic value. The manufacturing process is easy. The methods in this Community Service are Counseling, direct Practice and discussion. It is hoped that the use of coconuts will not only be sold in the form of unprocessed fruit but coconuts are processed into pure coconut oil or Virgin Coconut Oil and can be developed more widely through group entrepreneurship programs so as to increase the income of the congregation, especially the Women's group in the GMIT Marturia Oesapa Selatan Congregation, Kelapa Lima District, Kupang City.Keyword: coconut fruit; processing; utilization; virgin coconut oil Abstrak. Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) merupakan minyak kelapa yang diekstraksi yang mengandung asam lemak yang memiliki rantai sedang yang telah dipercaya memiliki banyak fungsi untuk kesehatan. asam lemak tersebut mudah dicerna dan diserap oleh usus karena ukuran molekulnya relatif kecil sehingga dapat  langsung dibakar oleh tubuh untuk memproduksi energi. Selain itu, VCO mengandung asam laurat yang dapat melarutkan membran virus berupa lipid sehingga akan mengganggu kekebalan virus, sehingga virus menjadi inaktif. VCO diproses tanpa pemanasan, tidak  ada  tambahan  bahan  kimia,  pewarna,  dan  pengawet  sehingga  dapat bertahan sebagai minyak nabati murni sehingga tidak merubah komposisi atau karakteristik minyak. VCO  mempunyai nilai ekonomis yang tinggi. Proses pembuatannya mudah. Metode dalam Pengabdian Masyarakat  ini adalah  Penyuluhan,  langsung Praktek dan diskusi. Diharapkan pemanfaatan buah kelapa tidak hanya dijual dalam bentuk buah tanpa diolah tetapi buah kelapa diolah menjadi minyak kelapa  murni atau  Virgin Coconut Oil dan dapat dikembangkan secara lebih luas lagi melalui program kewirausahaan kelompok  sehingga meningkatkan pendapatan jemaat, khususnya kelompok Kaum Perempuan di Jemaat GMIT Marturia Oesapa Selatan,  Kecamatan Kelapa Lima Kota Kupang.Kata kunci: buah kelapa; pengolahan; pemanfaatan; virgin coconut oil

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki keanekaragaman hayati yang sangat tinggi yang kaya akan berbagai tanaman obat dan berpotensi untuk dikembangkan dan dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Tanaman obat mengandung senyawa dan zat akif yang berperan dalam pencegahan dan pengobatan penyakit. Sosialisasi penggunaan tanaman obat keluarga ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman tentang jenis-jenis tanaman obat keluarga, kandungan, manfaat serta pengolahan produk tanaman obat keluarga sehingga mewujudkan masyarakat sehat di Desa Kolbano. Sosialisasi ini dengan metode observasi, sosialisasi/ceramah, serta diskusi dan tanya jawab tentang tanaman obat keluarga seperti jahe, kunyit, sirih, lidah buaya dan serai. Hasil yang diperoleh bahwa Masyarakat akhirnya dapat memahami dengan baik dan mendapat pengetahuan yang baru tentang jenis tanaman obat keluarga, tentang kandungan, manfaat serta produk olahan dengan berbagai macam bentuk.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh strategi pembelajaran Context-Rich Problem (CRP) terhadap pemahaman konsep reaksi redoks siswa kelas X di SMA Al-Ma'arif Taklimusshibyan Sangkong. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi-eksperimen dengan desain posttest-only control group, melibatkan 52 siswa yang dibagi menjadi kelompok eksperimen yang menggunakan strategi CRP dan kelompok kontrol yang diajar dengan metode ceramah. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes pemahaman konsep yang diberikan setelah perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang diajar dengan strategi CRP memiliki rata-rata nilai posttest lebih tinggi (79,16) dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol (69,87). Selain itu, ketuntasan klasikal pada kelompok eksperimen mencapai 92%, sedangkan pada kelompok kontrol hanya 78%. Uji-t menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelompok dengan nilai p sebesar 0,000 (p < 0,05), yang mengonfirmasi bahwa strategi CRP memiliki dampak positif terhadap pemahaman konsep reaksi redoks siswa. Dengan demikian, strategi CRP efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep reaksi redoks dan mendorong partisipasi aktif siswa dalam pembelajaran kimia. The Effect of Context-Rich Problem (CRP) Learning Strategy on Students' Conceptual Understanding of Redox Reactions  Abstract This study aims to examine the effect of the Context-Rich Problem (CRP) learning strategy on students' conceptual understanding of redox reactions in Grade X at SMA Al-Ma'arif Taklimusshibyan Sangkong. A quasi-experimental method with a posttest-only control group design was used, involving 52 students divided into an experimental group using the CRP strategy and a control group taught through lectures. The study’s data collection employed a conceptual understanding test administered post-intervention. Results indicate that students taught with the CRP strategy achieved a higher average posttest score (79.16) compared to the control group (69.87). Furthermore, the experimental group attained a classical mastery level of 92%, exceeding the control group's 78%. A t-test analysis revealed a significant difference between the groups, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), confirming the positive impact of the CRP strategy on students' conceptual understanding of redox reactions. Thus, CRP is effective in enhancing students' understanding of redox reaction concepts and fostering active participation in chemistry learning.

Abstract

The dedication to this community is the training of teacher competence development related to learning media that is carried out for teachers in the Nekamese, Kupang District, East Nusa Tenggara Province in the year 2023. The implementation is based on the need for teachers to develop competence against the use of technology in making learning media in accordance with the requirements of the independent curriculum in force today. This activity aims to enhance the competence of teachers in the use of technology in order to design interesting and innovative learning. In today's digital age, teachers are not only required to improve their teaching skills based on their material knowledge, but are also required to be able to apply innovative and enjoyable learning to encourage and motivate students in learning and thinking at a high level. The learning media used in this activity is the creation of teaching materials using exe learning, live worksheet and instrumentation using blookets. There are still many teachers in the Nekamese district who have never developed innovative teaching materials with the use of technology. Usually the teachers only teach in front of the methods of lectures and group discussions, and still give the questions of practice or examination in the form of manuals. As a result, students are less motivated and tired of learning. Therefore, through this training, teachers are trained and guided in creating gamification-based material and instruments until the product is produced and applied in classroom learning. This learning media can be presented in an interactive and interesting way so that it will motivate students to follow the learning. Teachers will also be increasingly creative in innovating to develop teaching materials and instruments of interest to students.

Abstract

Technological advances provide educators with the freedom to create quality learning that meets the needs and learning environment of students. A crucial aspect for teachers to consider in realizing effective learning is the use of interactive learning media tailored to the characteristics and needs of students. The use of digital technology to develop interactive learning media is a necessity in today's learning process. Training and mentoring for teachers in Malaka to develop interactive and innovative digital media is based on the need to improve their competency and skills in utilizing technology to develop learning media. This activity aims to improve teachers' competency and skills in utilizing technology to design engaging and interactive digital-based learning using Book Creator and QuizWhizzer. Monotonous learning activities, often based on lectures and group discussions, with the use of conventional learning media, tend to make students passive and easily bored, resulting in a lack of student interest in learning and a decline in the quality and outcomes of learning. Furthermore, technological developments demand increased competency, including in preparing engaging learning media. Therefore, through this training activity, teachers are provided with guidance and training in developing interactive learning media so that the resulting products can be directly used in the learning process. The developed media is designed to be interactive and engaging, thereby increasing student motivation. Furthermore, this activity also encourages teachers to be more creative and innovative in creating learning media that can attract student interest. The training activities ran smoothly and effectively, as evidenced by the high enthusiasm of teachers and the increase in knowledge and skills related to the training material. The mentoring results also showed an improvement in the quality of learning through active student interaction in learning with the help of digital learning media, which resulted in improved interest and learning outcomes.
