Abstract

Menstrual disorders such as delayed menstruation, irregular cycle, menstrual pain, or hypermenorea can bring so much discomfort to women caused by biological abnormalities and psychological factors. However, nutritional status can also play a role in contributing to this disorder. This study aimed to determine the relationship of nutritional status to menstrual disorders in midwifery students. This descriptive analytical study used a cross sectional study design and a correlation study to find the relationship between the independent variables and dependent variables. The samples were all the first grade students of Midwifery Department of Poltekkes Jakarta Kemenkes III by 150 people. Based on the bivariate test, there was a relationship between nutritional status and polimenorea/oligomenorea (0.000), hipermenorea/hipomenorea (0.006) and amhea (0.001). The lecturers of the midwifery program are expected to put more concern on this problem by providing counseling about this issue so that the students can get prepared to face the disorder by having nutritional food in their daily life.

Abstract

Various adolescent health problems in Indonesia are so complex, not only related to physical but also related to psychosocial aspects. When teenagers have to struggle to recognize the sides of themselves that are experiencing physical-psychic and social changes due to puberty, society instead tries to hide everything about sex and leave teenagers with question marks in their minds. The view that sex is taboo, makes teenagers reluctant to discuss reproductive health with others. The lack of accurate and correct information about reproductive health makes teenagers seek access and explore themselves. Health education for adolescents needs to be provided with the right methods and media. Audiovisual media is a learning tool or media that uses video or mobile display, this media is a modern learning among the community and effective for teenagers so that they can absorb the material provided to the maximum. This study aims to determine the influence of audiovisual media on increasing adolescent knowledge about reproductive health. This research is a quantitative study with quasi-experimental design one group without control, with a sample of 50 respondents. Respondents measured the rate ofyears before and after intervention, namely health education using audiovisual media. The results of the study: dependent t-test dependent statistical test on post-test knowledge about reproductive health increased by 6.46 to 8.06 with p value of 0.000 indicating the influence of audiovisual media provision on improving adolescent reproductive health knowledge.

Abstract

Malnutrition is still a public health problem and can be the cause of death, especially inhigh risk groups (infants and toddlers). One of the main factors that contributes to malnutritionis the inappropriate practices of breastfeeding and complementary feeding. This was ananalytical research using a survey method of cross sectional . The Sample used 75 respondents, mothers of toddlers with 12- 24 months of age in the area of Puskesmas Cipinang BesarUtara in November 2014. Using a questionnaire, the data were analyzed using chi-squarewith ? = 0.05.The Result of study showed that majority respondents, namely 66 people (88%) were found at the group age of 20 - 34 months. Moreover, respondents with educationperiod of ? 9 years were 52 people (69 %) , having 3-4 children were 40 people (53 %) ,had income per month ?Rp.2.441.301 were 60 people (80 %) and unemployed mothers were58 people (77 %). Toddlers with good nutritional status were 46 (61 %) , exclusivebreastfeeding were 36 people (48 %), age of the complementary feeding < 6 months and>7 months were 41 people (57 %), factory - made complementary foods were 38 people(50 %). Factors related with the nutritional status of toddlers were exclusive breastfeedingp-value = 0,000 (<0,000), and the age of complementary feeding p-value = 0,000 (<0,000).Based on the result, it is suggested that the nursing mothers, local cadres of integratedhealth office (called as Kader Posyandu), and midwives pay more attention to the factorsaffected the nutritional status of toddlers to determine good attitudes and appropriateinterventions to increase the nutritional status of toddlers.

Abstract

Adolescence is a transition period with specific needs for growth and development. The reproduction of health education is essential to be given to adolescents because they are susceptible to the risks of reproduction health problems. Giving explanations of health education for adolescents by using media will maximize them in absorbing information since media has become an integral part of adolescents' life. One alternative media that is close and familiar with adolescents is an Android application that can be easily accessed by teenagers who have it through a handphone. The purpose of this study was to know the effectiveness of android based applications at the Central Jakarta Senior High School. The method of this research is a quasi-experimental research with control group design. Sampling by cluster sampling method at SMAN 1 Jakarta as an intervention group and SMAN 5 Jakarta as a control group. Statistical tests using the Paired T-Test, Wilcoxon Test, and Mann Whitney test. The results of the study show what is meant by the knowledge of adolescents with a value of p = 0,000, so Android application can be applied as a media tool about improving the health of adolescents in schools.

Abstract

There are three important factors that effect of the wound healing of perineum laceration, namely mobilization, nutrition and cleanliness of vulva and perineum. With the fulfillment of the three factors become 1 package of module, it can be happening faster of wound healing in the proliferation phase of perineum laceration less than 7 days, which is usually occur more than 7 days. The purpose of this research was to know the effectiveness of the implementation of the package of modules in accelerating wound healing the perineum at the proliferation phase. The population of this study were post partum mothers with 2nd grade of perineum laceration in the place of research that chosen by simple randomization and randomized allocation that matching with inclusion and exclusion criteria. 18 mothers were selected as intervention group, while 18 mothers were selected as control group in different health center. This research used true quantitative experimental design with posttest only control group design and use chi-square test analysis for categorical variables throughout and logistic regression for multivariable analysis. There was a significant association between implementation module with long time of wound healing of perineum laceration in the proliferation phase (p value = 0,002) with OR (95%CI) was 60 (3.14 – 1147.29) before compared with control group. Mothers who implemented of module have probability for faster of wound perineum healing < 7 days postpartum compared with control group with OR (95% CI) was 5.5 (1.27 – 23.69). Implementation of the module package was very effective in accelerating the healing of wounds in the proliferation of the perineum laceration.

Abstract

Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is one of the indicators in determining the degree of health of a nation. One of the causes of maternal death is related to the problem of gender inequality in society. The role of midwives in providing gender-responsive services is needed to realize welfare and health for all. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the gender approach in antenatal care at the Midwife Independent Practice Center. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with in-depth interviews and data analysis using triangulation of sources, techniques and experts. Primary data were obtained using interview guideline sheets from 6 informants, which included 2 midwives and 2 pregnant women who did not understand antenatal care with gender responsiveness and their partners. The results of the study on the effectiveness of the gender approach in antenatal care at the Midwife E Independent Practice Place is assessed from indicators of target accuracy, socialization, achievement of goals and monitoring, it can be said to be quite effective because the implementation already involves the participation of pregnant women and their partners. However, there needs to be a guideline that regulates gender-responsive care. Suggestion: Establish a specific guideline governing gender-responsive midwifery care standards by both professional organizations and related agencies.

Abstract

Background: One factor influencing the health behavior of teenagers is their level of knowledge. Utilizing applications or digital media in health education can deliver information in a more engaging and easily understandable way for teenagers. This approach helps enhance their understanding of health issues like anemia. Digital interactions enable teenagers to access more detailed knowledge and follow information more effectively. Purpose: To increase the attitudes and behavior of teenagers towards the regular consumption of iron tablets and the prevention of anemia. Method: A quasi-experimental design with a post-test-only control group approach was conducted in the Enggano Island area, North Bengkulu Regency, from January to October 2023. The research examined the relationship between compliance with iron tablet consumption (independent variable) and outcomes such as menstruation duration, age of menarche, and nutritional status (dependent variables). Using purposive sampling, 70 participants were selected and divided into two groups: 35 in the treatment group and 35 in the control group, based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis included univariate tests to assess the frequency distribution of participant characteristics, followed by bivariate analysis using Wilcoxon, Paired T-Test, Mann-Whitney, Independent Sample T-Test, and MANCOVA. Results: The MANCOVA test results demonstrated that the Chatting Mira education intervention significantly influenced adolescents' knowledge, behavior, compliance with consuming iron supplement tablets, and Hb levels. This was supported by a p-value of 0.000, which was below the α threshold of 0.05, indicating statistical significance at a 95% confidence level. Conclusion: The Chatting Mira education intervention effectively influences teenagers' attitudes and behaviors toward iron tablet consumption and anemia prevention. By utilizing peer-led education and structured activities, this program raises awareness, fosters healthy habits, and encourages adherence to iron supplementation, ultimately reducing the risk of anemia in adolescents.
