Abstract

P4K is one of the government's efforts to reduce Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR). The problem found was low community participation in P4K. This study aims to find out how people's perceptions about birth planning and complications prevention (P4K) programs. Method: This research is a qualitative study using purposive sampling technique in selecting samples. The samples used were 21 people who had met the sample criteria. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and FGD (Focus Group Discussion). Data were analyzed through several stages namely data reduction, data transcripts, data presentation, coding, categorization and conclusions. Results: 1) Most of the P4K information obtained by respondents was considered to be lacking. 2) Respondents' perception of the implementation of P4K revealed that the program had not yet reached the target. 3) The majority of respondents perceive the distribution of P4K stickers among mothers as uneven and the majority of pregnant women have a perception that the activity has no benefit for themselves.4) Respondents are more dominant in the perception of village ambulances as four-wheeled motor vehicles as usual ambulances. 5) P4K supporting facilities in the village are not yet available namely dasolin / tabulin and blood donor management. Conclusion: the perception of the village community about P4K so far both about information about the program and its implementation is still considered to be less than optimal, because socialization is not carried out thoroughly to the community. Therefore, there is a need for good collaboration between community sectors, health institutions and village governments

Abstract

Background: A dramatic increase in caesarean section has occurred throughout the world, especially in developing and developed countries over the last few decades and has led to increased research, debate and concern among health professionals, governments, policy makers, scientists and clinicians so as to overcome the increase in the number of cesarean sections. then developed the technique Vaginal Birth After Caesarean Section (VBAC), namely vaginal delivery in pregnant women who have had a history of cesarean section in previous pregnancies. As the philosophy of midwifery care, namely pregnancy is a natural process and prioritizes the continuity of service that is centered on women and families, and respects the right of pregnant women to participate and gain knowledge or experience related to their pregnancy, this study aims to determine the perceptions of midwives towards Vaginal Birth After Caesarean-section (VBAC). Methods: This study used a qualitative research design using a phenomenological approach and with in-depth interviews with 6 respondents who were midwives at Puskesmas Benowo. Results:The results obtained in this study are that there are five aspects that influence the perception of midwives regarding VBAC which can indeed be done but with many considerations and all of them are carried out according to applicable regulations which in Puskesmas Benowo use KSPR and it is known that pregnant women with a history of SC have a high score who must get a planned early referral. Conclusion:The conclusion of this study, there are limitations of midwives in knowledge and authority to mothers with a history of CS and also about Vaginal Birth After Caesarean-section (VBAC), but midwives still provide education and motivation to mothers to prepare for pregnancy and childbirth as well as possible for The goal is to get a healthy mother and baby.

Abstract

Background: Childbirth is a series of pregnancy processes that end with the expulsion of the products of conception. The number of births with SC is increasing every year. In Indonesia, the incidence of cesarean section in 2009 has reached 29.6%. This number certainly affects the mortality and morbidity rates in subsequent deliveries.Purpose: To identify family support and the healthcare workforce when the patient chooses a cesarean section on maternal and neonatal outcomesMethod: A case study with TOLAC (Trial of Labor After Cesarean Delivery) is a planned effort to give birth vaginally by a woman who has had a previous SC delivery. Women's perceptions related to pregnancy to delivery can influence the choice of the desired delivery method. Results: Women 31 year old with G3P1011 assisted since 17-18 weeks of gestation. Had an obstetric history with 1x caesarean section in 2016 because there was no progress in labour. Early referral planning has been carried out. Termination of pregnancy by sectio caesarea is planned at 38-39 weeks of gestation. Since the beginning of the pregnancy, the mother wanted to give birth vaginally, but the mother did not get support from her husband or family. Before the intervention was carried out, the mother experienced signs of labor and the mother wanted to try vaginal delivery but was not supported by healthcare workforce and a cito SC was performed. The baby was born healthy with a good Apgar score. Conclusion: The perceptions and beliefs that pregnant women have after SC surgery need to be balanced with the support of their families and healthcare workforce so that they are successful in undergoing trials of the normal delivery method according to preference. Mentoring activities can be a method of providing education, monitoring efforts, and early detection of complications in pregnant women with former SC operations.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Maternal mortality rate (MMR) is an important indicator of women's health, with the WHO global target of reducing MMR to below 70 per 100,000 live births by 2030. In Indonesia, the MMR in 2023 is still high at 189 per 100,000 live births with the main causes of pregnancy complications and delays in treatment. The Childbirth Planning and Complication Prevention (P4K) program was implemented to reduce these risks through safe delivery utilization. However, the achievement of delivery in health facilities in Indonesia has not reached the target especially in eastern part of Indonesia. This study aims to analyse the relationship between knowledge about P4K and the place of delivery of mothers in the working area of Luhu Public Health Centre, West Seram, Maluku. The quantitative study using observational methods with a cross-sectional approach, involving 30 postpartum mothers 1-42 days with sampling techniques using purposive sampling. The analysis test used was the Chi Square test. The results showed that about 66.67% of respondents had good knowledge and 76.6% delivered in health facilities. Chi Square test results with Fisher Exact results found there was a significant relationship between P4K knowledge and place of delivery (p-value: 0.01). There is a relationship between knowledge of P4K and place of delivery. There is a need to strengthen community empowerment, midwife-shaman partnerships, and increase education for mothers and families so that they can choose safe delivery places. Keywords: Maternal Mortality, Maternal Health, Maternal Knowledge, Safe Delivery Utilization, Health Facilities.

Abstract

Tingginya Angka Kematian Ibu (AKI) di Kabupaten Banyuwangi masih menjadi permasalahan kesehatan yang memerlukan perhatian serius. Berdasarkan data Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Banyuwangi tahun 2023, AKI tercatat sebesar 95 per 100.000 kelahiran hidup.
