Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of scrapbook media on the reading comprehension ability of class IV students at UPT SDN 060816 Medan. This research has several problems, namely when students read they do not understand the content of the reading they read. This research is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental type of research. The sample in this study used a saturated sampling technique consisting of two classes, namely class IV A with 32 students as the experimental class using scrapbook media and class IV B with 31 students as the control class without using media. The data collection technique used in this research is a multiple choice test. The research results from both classes, namely the experimental class, had an average score of 45.81 (pretest) and 82.47 (posttest). And the control class has an average of 39.81 (pretest) and 67.90 (posttest). The results of the hypothesis test are the Paired Sample t-Test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results found a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05. So it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, so there is an influence of scrapbook media on the reading comprehension ability of class IV students at UPT SDN 060816 Medan.

Abstract

This research aims to develop problem-solving-based teaching materials to improve students' critical thinking skills in class IV PPKn subjects based on the fact that the use of teaching materials in each PPKn subject is rarely used because educators only rely on textbooks as a guide. And in improving students' critical thinking skills, teachers only use multiple choice tests in the textbook without asking students to create their own ideas from the knowledge they have obtained. This research uses the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) but the focus of this research is limited to this stage Development just. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, questionnaires and documentation. The results obtained after the teaching materials were validated by 3 validator experts, namely material experts, obtained an average score of 89.3% with the "Very Eligible" criteria. The results of the media expert validation assessment obtained an average score of 94.3% with the criteria "Very Eligible". And the results of the linguist validation assessment obtained an average score of 82% with the criteria "Very Eligible". Meanwhile, the results of the teacher's assessment of problem-solving based teaching materials obtained an average score of 94.6% with the criteria "Very Appropriate". This shows that problem-solving based teaching materials are very suitable for use in the learning process to improve students' critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of critical thinking-based Learner Worksheets (LKPD) in Civics subjects in Class III MIN 3 Simalungun. The background is that the Learner Worksheet used at MIN 3 Simalungun is an instant version of the publisher provided by the school not the result of the preparation carried out by the teacher himself. And printed with black ink on opaque paper. LKPDs found in schools are not yet based on critical thinking. Indicators of critical thinking have not been included in the LKPD, so it does not train students' critical thinking skills. This research is an R&D (Research and Development) study. This study uses the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Researchers only limit it to the development stage. Researchers modify the development model as needed, because in terms of the formulation of the problem it is only limited to whether or not the LKPD will be developed. So, for this reason, researchers do not carry out the implementation and evaluation stages. Based on the results obtained after being validated by validators from 3 teams of experts, namely from material experts, a percentage of 94% was obtained which was declared very feasible. The assessment of the media expert showed a percentage of 88%, also declared very feasible. In addition, the assessment of linguists obtained a percentage of 86% and was declared very feasible. Abstract

Penelitian yang telah dilakukan dilatarbelakangi bahwa kurangnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman yang membuat siswa kesulitan memahami materi dan mengerjakan tugas dengan baik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa melalui pengembangan media komik berbasis pemecahan masalah. Penelitian ini mengguakan jenis penelitian metode pegembangan dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Tahapan penelitian yang dilakukan adalah pengembangan produk, tahap validasi dan tahap uji coba produk pada 25 siswa kelas III MIN 7 Asahan. Hasil penelitian terhadap media komik berbasis pemecahan masalah berdasarkan nilai yang diberikan oleh validator media dan materi dinyatakan “Sangat Layak” dengan nilai rata-rata 87%. Komik berbasis pemecahan masalah juga dinyatakan sangat praktis yang diperoleh dari respon pendidik dan 25 peserta didik dengan nilai rata- rata 94% yang dikategorikan “Sangat Praktis”. Selain itu, komik berbasis pemecahan masalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman dinyatakan cukup efektif yang diuji dengan N-Gain Score. Nilai N-Gain terendah adalah 0,5 dan nilai N-Gain tertinggi adalah 0,93, persentase N-Gain Score adalah 72,5% dikategorikan “Cukup Efektif”. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan pada 25 siswa kelas III MIN 7 Asahan dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan produk komik berbasis pemecahan masalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa dinyatakan layak, praktis dan efektif.

Abstract

The Effect of Letter Wheel and Reading Board Media on Students' Beginning Reading Skills at MIN Kota Medan is based on students' difficulties in recognizing letters, recognizing letters with the same shape, spelling letters, and combining letters into words which result in students not understanding what they are going to read. This study aims to determine the effect of letter wheel and reading board media in improving the beginning reading skills of first grade students at MIN Kota Medan. This study is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design. The research sample consisted of 25 students, who were divided into two groups, namely, the experimental group using letter wheel and reading board media and the control group using conventional media. Data collection was carried out through Pretest and Posttest questions. The data obtained were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests. From the results of the research conducted, it was found that there was a significant influence of letter wheel and reading board media on the beginning reading skills of first grade students at MIN 7 Kota Medan. This is also proven by the results of the hypothesis test where the sig (2-tailed) in the experimental class is 0.000 < 0.05, meaning there is an effect of the treatment in the experimental class. Therefore, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected at the level of α = 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that the letter wheel and reading board media have a significant influence in improving the initial reading ability of first-grade students at MIN 7 Medan City

Abstract

Storytelling is an important communication skill to develop, especially for elementary school students. Because it not only plays an important role in academic matters, but is also useful in their daily lives. However, many elementary school students still lack self-confidence and have limited access to interesting learning media, resulting in students encountering obstacles when telling stories in front of the class. This study aims to determine whether the developed big book media is feasible, practical, and effective for use in learning to improve students' storytelling skills. This research is included in the category of research and development or Research and Development (R&D), with the ADDIE model, which consists of: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The results showed that the big book obtained a percentage of 83.6% (material experts), 100% (media experts), 80% (teacher responses), and 95% (student responses). The effectiveness of the big book media achieved an N-Gain score of 14.87 with an average N-Gain score of 0.51275862 and an N-Gain percentage of 51%. Based on the N-Gain criteria, the big book media can be categorized as quite effective so that the big book learning media can be used to improve the storytelling skills of second-grade students at SDS Muhammadiyah 36 Medan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengevaluasi kontribusi program pemberdayaan yang dilaksanakan oleh tim KKN 119 UINSU dalam memperkuat pemahaman moderasi agama di Desa Suka Makmur. Moderasi agama, sebagai konsep penting dalam menjaga harmoni sosial di Indonesia yang plural, seringkali dipraktikkan secara intuitif oleh masyarakat namun kurang dipahami secara teoritis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai dampak dari berbagai kegiatan pemberdayaan, termasuk dialog keagamaan dan penyuluhan toleransi, terhadap peningkatan pemahaman dan penerapan moderasi agama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program-program ini berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran warga tentang pentingnya moderasi agama, memperkuat hubungan antarwarga, dan menciptakan lingkungan sosial yang lebih harmonis. Program ini juga membantu masyarakat untuk lebih siap menghadapi tantangan informasi ekstrem dari media sosial.
