Abstract

This study entitled "Analysis of Deixis Eksoforis In Discourse On the Daily Alert, 2014". This study aimed to describe the form of Deixis Eksoforis which examines deixis persona, temporal, locative, and social. As well as analyzing the more dominant forms of deixis appears in discourse analysis.    Sample data will be analyzed based on five types of themes: education, law, corruption, health, and religion published in the daily discourse on Alert edition from June to August 2014. Thus, the number of objects of research amounted to 5 discourse. This research uses descriptive method, a method that describes the data naturally and what it is.    Based on the five themes are analyzed, it can be seen that deixis persona most commonly found in every discourse, totaling 78 words (54.9%). Furthermore, social deixis totaling 35 words (24.6%), then the locative deixis amount to 22 words (15.4%), and the latter temporal deixis amounted to 7 words (4.9%) of 142 sentences were analyzed.Keywords: persona, temporal, locative, social

Abstract

Bahasa Indonesia biasa digunakan dalam bahasa sehari – hari akan tetapi penggunaan bahasa Indonesia sekarang ini telah pudar bagi kalangan remaja. Mereka lebih banyak menggunakan kosa kata serapan dari bahasa asing terutama bahasa Inggris. Mereka beranggapan bahasa yang mereka gunakan untuk pergaulan.  Penggunaan bahasa yang tidak sesuai dengan kaidah bahasa Indonesia membuat remaja tersebut lebih kreatif akan tetapi merusak bahasa Indonesia. Tulisan ini membahas pengertian bahasa gaul, ciri – ciri bahasa gaul, faktor pendukung digunakannya bahasa gaul dan sebagainya.

Abstract

Indonesian language standardization that has been done by the government in the form of appropriate rules in spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and terminology. Standardized Indonesian language guidance in the form of an (EYD), General Terms of Establishment, Standard Indonesian Grammar, and Big Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI). These guidelines serve as a reference for selecting the correct language form. Tips for Standardization of Indonesian Computing Terminals which contains Practical Guide for Establishment of Computer Terms, Special Guidelines for the Use of Computer Terms and the List of Indonesian Computer Terms is one of the means issued by the Implementing Team of Presidential Instruction No. 2 Year 2001 for use, either by users or developers of the computer.

Abstract

Bahasa adalah alat komunikasi. Bahasa Indonesia sudah menjadi bahasa umum identitas negara, penggunaan bahasa Indonesia pada generasi sekarang dapat tergolong sangat rendah, terutama dimedia sosial Instagram. Banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi seperti kebiasaan komunikasi individu dan faktor lingkungan. Meski banyak panduan dalam bahasa Indonesia, dikarenakan sikap berpikir terlihat modern dan mendidik untuk memfasilitasi komunikasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk melihat penggunaan bahasa Indonesia pada media sosial Instagram dikalangan remaja, seumber data berupa sumber data tertulis yaitu keterangan dalam Instagram tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik simak catat, dan dokumentasi dimana data bersumber dari media sosial Instagram yang kemudian dianalisis pengunaan bahasa Indonesia yang terdapat dalam postingan instagram tersebut.

Abstract

This research is entitled "Semantic Analysis and Use of Canva Media in Making Slogans in Class VIII of Darussalam Middle School, Medan". This research examines semantic analysis and the use of Canva media in the process of creating slogans by class VIII students at Darussalam Middle School, Medan. The main aim is to reveal the semantic meaning of the slogans produced by students. This research uses a descriptive method with a semantic approach, referring to Verhaar's semantic model, which involves analysis of lexical, grammatical and conceptual meaning. The research found three types of slogans created by students, namely health/hygiene slogans, education slogans, and motivation/advice slogans, each consisting of five slogans. Canva media has proven to be effective in helping students integrate visual and verbal elements, thereby increasing their creativity and understanding of the meaning of the slogans produced. Apart from that, using Canva also increases students' enthusiasm for learning through more interesting visual interactions. This research suggests that canva be used as a tool in teaching Indonesian, especially in material related to making slogans and understanding semantics. Lexical meaning analysis is carried out based on the meaning of words in the KBBI, grammatical meaning is analyzed through a morphophonemic process, and conceptual meaning is evaluated according to the relevant context

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of scrapbook media on the reading comprehension ability of class IV students at UPT SDN 060816 Medan. This research has several problems, namely when students read they do not understand the content of the reading they read. This research is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental type of research. The sample in this study used a saturated sampling technique consisting of two classes, namely class IV A with 32 students as the experimental class using scrapbook media and class IV B with 31 students as the control class without using media. The data collection technique used in this research is a multiple choice test. The research results from both classes, namely the experimental class, had an average score of 45.81 (pretest) and 82.47 (posttest). And the control class has an average of 39.81 (pretest) and 67.90 (posttest). The results of the hypothesis test are the Paired Sample t-Test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results found a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05. So it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, so there is an influence of scrapbook media on the reading comprehension ability of class IV students at UPT SDN 060816 Medan.

Abstract

The research was carried out with the title "Analysis of Batak Language Code Mixing When Learning Indonesian in Class The use of code mixing is the Batak regional language. The aim of this research is to determine the main causes of the use of code mixing during learning. This research methodology is a qualitative descriptive method. Data was obtained from class X students of YAPIM Brand High School and the results of interviews from Indonesian language teachers. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviewing, recording and taking notes. The results of this research are forms of code mixing in teacher and student conversations in Indonesian language learning in class X SMA YAPIM Brand, namely: a. Use of Toba Batak language code mixing, b. There are 76 code-mixed data, the forms of code-mixing use are 13 code-mixes of word insertion, 17 phrase insertions, 46 clause insertions, word and sentence insertions. Factors causing code mixing are: a. Students' proficiency in speaking two languages, including the Toba Batak regional language and Indonesian, b. Social environment, c. Contextual situation. However, Indonesian language interference is not eliminated by the presence of the regional language, it's just that students sometimes focus more on using the regional language instead of being in context when speaking with fellow students.

Abstract

This development research aims to find out: (1) the process of developing flashcard media to improve students' poetry writing skills. (2) the feasibility of flashcard media in improving students' poetry writing skills. (3) The effectiveness of flashcard media in improving students' poetry writing skills.This research was conducted using the research and development model (R&D) (Research and Development) This research uses the ADDIE development model with five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects in this study are MTs Islamiyah Medan students totaling 28 students. The instrument of this study is to use a questionnaire to see the development, feasibility and effectiveness of the media developed. Data analysis techniques use product data analysis, preliminary data analysis, hypothesis testing. The results of the study show that flashcard media for writing poetry is very feasible to use with an average percentage of media experts 81.25% and material experts 97.5%. There was an increase in the average student score of 80.17%, so it was concluded that the average pretest and pottest scores experienced significant changes. Research conclusion: flashcard media for writing student poetry is suitable for use in poetry material learning activities by grade VIII students of MTS Islamiyah Medan. Further research suggestion: more thorough in planning the development of flashcard media, it should be developed according to the needs and characteristics of students.

Abstract

Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan literasi siswa di MTs Negeri Serdang Bedagai Kampus 2, Desa Pulau Tagor, melalui pengembangan Pojok Baca Sekolah. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan Penelitian Tindakan, program ini mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam pelaksanaan program literasi di sekolah. Kegiatan yang dilakukan meliputi sosialisasi, pengenalan budaya membaca, dan pendampingan intensif bagi siswa, baik di dalam maupun di luar kelas. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan peningkatan minat baca dan pemahaman literasi di kalangan siswa. Namun, terdapat beberapa hambatan, seperti keterbatasan bahan ajar dan fasilitas perpustakaan yang kurang memadai. Program ini memerlukan keberlanjutan dan evaluasi terhadap metode pengajaran agar hasil yang dicapai dapat lebih optimal. Tujuan utamanya adalah memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam meningkatkan keterampilan literasi siswa dan mengarahkan mereka untuk memanfaatkan teknologi dengan bijak.

Abstract

This research is entitled "The Use of Image Media in Overcoming Reading Difficulties for Grade II Students at Nursyamsiani Islamic Private Elementary School, Bintang Meriah Village, Batang Kuis District." The objectives are to: 1) Identify the forms of reading difficulties of grade II students; 2) Knowing the effectiveness of image media in overcoming these difficulties; 3) Identify obstacles in the use of image media; and 4) Reveal teachers' efforts in overcoming these obstacles. This research is qualitative-descriptive, involving the principal and homeroom teacher as subjects. Data collection is carried out through observation, interviews, and data analysis. The results of the study showed: 1) Reading difficulties include recognition of similar letters and difficulty in prociting a combination of letters; 2) Image media helps overcome reading difficulties; 3) Constraints include image size, limited facilities, and funds; 4) Teachers' efforts include providing opportunities to see pictures in turns and re-explain the material. This result is expected to encourage an increase in teachers' creativity in the use of learning media to increase interest and effectiveness in learning.
