Abstract

ABSTRACT- A BCNO phosphor was successfully synthesized using a microwave method and atmospheric pressure. The phosphors were prepared from precursors containing boric acid as a boron source, urea as a nitrogen source and poly ethylene glycol (PEG) as a carbon source. The carbon sources were varied by PEG MW 1000, MW 6000 and MW 20000.  The objective of this research is to study the effect of variations in the carbon source to the luminescence properties of BCNO that synthesized using microwave. The emission wavelength of the samples are in violet area (380-450 nm) and the highest emission intensity was 47 a.u. produced by BCNO which using PEG MW 20000 as the carbon source.

Abstract

This paper discusses a multifractal analysis of the microscopic structure of peat soil. The aim of this study was to apply the multifractal technique to analyze the properties of five slices of peat soil (L1-L5). Binary images (220 x 220 pixels, with a conversion value of 9.41 μm/pixel) were made from the thin slices and then analyzed. This analysis was conducted to obtain the relationship between physical parameters and complexity parameters. The results showed that the spectrum of f(α) can describe well the pore size distribution and average size of pores correlated with the value of D(0). A high value of the average pore size is followed by a low D value and vice versa.

Abstract

The resident of Kelurahan Tambelan Sampit consists of various segments of society. Most of the male work as laborers, only some people that work as government employees. Most of the female in Kelurahan Tambelan Sampit help her husband by being a laundry worker, selling cookies and domestic helpers. Many of them do not work. In terms of economic level, most of the population is in middle until lower economic levels. The Conditions was motivate the team of community service to add skills in entrepreneurship at Kelurahan Tambelan Sampit, one of them by developing entrepreneurial spirit in the plantation sector to some communities in Kelurahan Tambelan Sampit. The product of this plantation can be used for self-consumption, even for sale, considering the high price of hydroponic vegetables. Therefore, the team of community service is motivated to provide information on appropriate technology in the form of information delivery, training and skill enhancement in hydroponic gardening that is to grow plants with water as the media, to obtain new superior product from Kelurahan Tambelan Sampit, i.e. the hydroponic fresh vegetable product . In addition, the community will provide knowledge on the marketing strategies so that the vegetables can be marketed to consumers. Thus, community service activities can form a productive society, self-reliant, high performing, have strong economic strength and improving the welfare of people living standards.

Abstract

The need of clean water in Tambelan, Sampit District was a very crucial problem. Most of the citizen there are unable to pay the monthly bill from the Regional Water Supply Company (PDAM), therefore they do not have access to the clean water. The poverty forced them to use the ditch water nearby their houses which is turbid and unhygienic. This dirty water can stimulate various types of diseases, such as diarrhea, skin diseases and other infectious diseases. Thus, the Community Development (PKM) team was triggered to help the citizen there through the IbM Self-Sufficiency of Clean Water Program in order that the people independently being able to process the dirty water into clean water by using water filter. The water filter consists of pipe tubes containing activated carbon and silica sand. By filtering the dirty water and absorbing impurities through the pores of activated carbon and silica sand so that the ditch water which is used by the citizen will be processed first into clean water and can be used by the people for their daily activities e.g. bathing and washing. The water filters were made for 33 houses in RT III & RT IV/RW VIII in Tambelan, Sampit District. They were trained by the PKM team to maintain the filter and also to keep the cleanliness of their environment. The water filters were able to decrease the Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) from 102 ppm to 26 ppm.

Abstract

Kecamatan Sandai di Kabupaten Ketapang, Provinsi Kalimantan Barat, merupakan wilayah pedalaman yang sering terkena bencana banjir. Namun, keterbatasan data terkait kejadian banjir di kecamatan tersebut menjadi hambatan dalam memahami dan menganalisis dampak kejadian tersebut. Penelitian ini mencoba memanfaatkan citra Sentinel-1 Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) untuk memetakan sebaran banjir dan menganalisis dampaknya terhadap populasi penduduk dan infrastruktur (bangunan dan jalan) di wilayah studi. Citra diolah menggunakan metode Change Detection and Thresholding (CDAT) untuk menghasilkan peta sebaran banjir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peta sebaran banjir yang diperoleh memiliki tingkat akurasi yang cukup baik (0,67). Studi kasus pada kejadian banjir Oktober 2022 menunjukkan banjir berdampak signifikan terhadap jumlah penduduk (11.300 jiwa terdampak), bangunan (5.400 terendam), dan jaringan jalan (98 km tergenang). Hasil studi ini dapat digunakan oleh pemerintah setempat dalam merencanakan langkah-langkah mitigasi bencana banjir masa depan di lokasi studi.
