Abstract

The aim of training in writing official letters at the village office is to increase the understanding of village officials about writing official letters that are good and correct. This community service program activity lasts for two days, namely on September 26, 27, 2020 at the Tamansari Yogyakarta hall. The total number of village apparatus / staff who attended this official letter writing training was 25 people. Based on the preliminary survey, the spelling scores of the participants in the activity were not good, meaning that there was a need for improvement in understanding Indonesian spelling. During the training, the activity participants and the implementation team conducted a reflection and evaluation of the material presented. Thus, activity participants can compile official letters properly and correctly according to the General Guidelines for Spelling in Indonesian.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (Penmas) which is carried out aims to increase the willingness of teachers to write scientific papers, increase the ability of teachers to write scientific papers, and improve the ability to search for references in various sources. The implementation of Penmas was preceded by providing information to the Principal about the training activities to be carried out, giving invitations to teachers who would be training participants, conducting training 15 February 2021 virtually, and making reports on the results of the implementation of activities. The materials presented during the training are: 1) the urgency of writing scientific papers for career advancement and knowledge of educators, 2) strategies for writing scientific proceedings and journals, 3) systematic proceedings and journal articles. Participants also received guidance on writing scientific papers in tutorial activities and practicing writing scientific papers virtually. Training participants are limited to 40 MTS and MA Ulumiyyah Tuban teachers.

Abstract

This study discusses the use of metaphors contained in good morning memes on social media. The problem studied is the types and purposes of writing memes in good morning greetings on social media. This research is a type of qualitative research whose data is sourced from social media, including WhatsApp and Facebook. Data were collected using the documentation method. The results of this study are the types of metaphors that are generally found in good morning greeting memes, among others; (1) anthropomorphic metaphors that use nature as a comparison with humans, including plants, mountains, seeds, light, and light; (2) animal metaphors that use animals as comparisons with humans, including birds, bees, and flies; (3) the metaphor of the structure of daily activities describes human traits that are far from gratitude, peace, and pride; (4) inanimate metaphor refers to a fixed form, for example, chest; (5) standard metaphor refers to a general form, for example, happiness cannot be separated from gratitude; and (6) creative metaphors are metaphors that are produced from the creativity of speakers, for example comparing God or God's hand with a painter. The purpose of using metaphors in good morning memes is to advise, encourage, invite gratitude, pray, and thank God. AbstrakPenelitian ini membahas tentang penggunaan metafora yang terdapat dalam meme ucapan selamat pagi di media sosial. Permasalahan yang dikaji adalah jenis-jenis dan tujuan ditulisnya meme dalam ucapan selamat pagi di media sosial. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian kualitatif yang datanya bersumber dari media sosial, di antaranya adalah WhatsApp dan Facebook. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah jenis-jenis metafora yang umumnya terdapat dalam meme ucapan selamat pagi antara lain;  (1) metafora antropomorfisme yang menggunakan alam sebagai pembanding dengan manusia, di antaranya dengan tanaman, gunung, benih, cahaya, dan terang; (2) metafora binatang yang menggunakan binatang sebagai pembanding dengan manusia, di antaranya burung, lebah, dan lalat; (3) metafora struktur kegiatan sehari-hari menggambarkan sifat-sifat manusia yang jauh dari rasa syukur, rasa damai, dan kesombongan; (4) metafora mati mengacu pada bentuk yang bersifat tetap, misalnya lapang dada; (5) metafora standar mengacu pada bentuk yang bersifat umum, misalnya kebahagiaan tidak terlepas dari rasa syukur; dan (6) metafora kreatif merupakan metafora yang dihasilkan dari kreativitas penutur, misalnya membandingkan Tuhan atau tangan Tuhan dengan seorang pelukis. Tujuan penggunaan metafora dalam meme ucapan selamat pagi antara lain adalah menasihati, menyemangati, mengajak bersyukur, mendoakan, dan berterima kasih kepada Tuhan.

Abstract

Pembelajaran sastra selama ini kurang memerhitungkan sastra lisan padahal banyak nilai strategis yang dapat dipetik dari pembelajaran sastra lisan. Nilai strategis tersebut, misalnya, (1) dalam sastra lisan banyak terkandung nilai-nilai dan berbagai jejak budaya bangsa pembelajaran sastra lisan juga menjadi sarana pengenalan nilai dan kebudayaan bangsa; (2) pembelajaran sastra lisan dapat digunakan sebagai sarana pelestarian bahasa dan sastra daerah yang menjadi kekayaan budaya bangsa; (3) akhir-akhir ini semakin gencar disadari dan dibicarakan pentingnya kearifan lokal. Sastra lisan menyediakan data yang melimpah untuk kepentingan penggalian nilai kearifan lokal tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang mendeskripsikan strategi pembelajaran sastra dengan bahan sastra lisan. Penelitian ini merupakan telaah kritis atau gagasan konseptual. Dapat disimpulkan guru perlu  menempuh beberapa strategi supaya pembelajarannya dapat berhasil, antara lain (1) dalam pemilihan materi, selain bersumber  sastra lisan yang masih hidup di masyarakat juga dapat memanfaatkan karya-karya sastra lisan terjemahan dan hasil-hasil penelitian yang telah ada;. (2) dalam penerapan  metode pembelajaran dipilih metode metode pembelajaran yang beraspek rekreatif supaya siswa dapat mengenal, memahami, dan mencintai sastra lisan dengan cara yang menyenangkan, misalnya dengan metode bermain peran, demonstrasi, rekreasi; (3) Guru harus memerluas pengetahuan supaya mampu memahami nilai-nilai dan budaya dalam sastra lisan juga berani dan secara kreatif melakukan reinterpretasi untuk menyesuaikan makna sastra lisan dengan konteks zaman.

Abstract

This paper aims to identify the factors affecting self-esteem and confidence among educators and how these factors influence their teaching effectiveness. The study employs a qualitative approach to explore self-esteem and lecturer performance. Data were collected through interviews and analyzed both concurrently and post-collection to ensure comprehensive understanding and immediate adjustment of interview questions as needed. The findings revealed that lecturers with low self-esteem and confidence often struggle with managing emotions and maintaining a balanced psychological state. The most significant contributor to low confidence was found to be an individual's personality, specifically their ability to control emotions. The study demonstrated that the primary driver of self-esteem is not stress, but an imbalance in mental processes. Additionally, this research developed a scale to measure self-esteem using two dimensions: acute fatigue and cognitive distortion. For confidence, the scale includes the dimensions of certainty and the reduction of certainty. These scales provide valuable tools for assessing and addressing issues of self-esteem and confidence among educators, ultimately contributing to improved teaching effectiveness and educational quality. The study contributes to the existing literature by highlighting the role of personality traits and emotional regulation in lecturer burnout and self-esteem, emphasizing the need for a holistic approach in addressing these issues in higher education.
