Abstract

The aim of training in writing official letters at the village office is to increase the understanding of village officials about writing official letters that are good and correct. This community service program activity lasts for two days, namely on September 26, 27, 2020 at the Tamansari Yogyakarta hall. The total number of village apparatus / staff who attended this official letter writing training was 25 people. Based on the preliminary survey, the spelling scores of the participants in the activity were not good, meaning that there was a need for improvement in understanding Indonesian spelling. During the training, the activity participants and the implementation team conducted a reflection and evaluation of the material presented. Thus, activity participants can compile official letters properly and correctly according to the General Guidelines for Spelling in Indonesian.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (Penmas) aims to improve the ability of teachers in terms of learning tools, improve the ability of teachers to use IT, and improve teacher administration skills. The implementation of Penmas is preceded by providing information to the Chair of the Foundation about the training activities that will be carried out, giving invitations to teachers who will be training participants, carrying out training from January 19-20 2022, and making reports on the results of implementing activities. The materials presented during the training were: 1) Administrative urgency for educators, 2) IT-based learning tools. Participants also get guidance on writing learning tools in tutorial activities and practice writing learning tools. The training participants were 40 SMK and MA Tanada Foundation teachers.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (Penmas) aims to improve students' abilities in creative writing, improve students' literary writing skills, and improve literary publications. This community service is carried out through training and assistance with a participant active learning approach. the activity is carried out through three core stages, namely strengthening students in making creative works, training and mentoring in creative literary writing, and assistance in publishing works. The training participants were 40 students of MTS Ulumiyah Tuban. The students are enthusiastic about doing the creative literary writing training. Keywords:  training, device, literary, creative         Abstrak. Program Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat (Penmas) yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam hal menulis kreatif, meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis sastra, dan meningkatkan kemampuan publikasi karya sastra. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan dengan pendekatan participant active learning. kegiatan dilakukan melalui tiga tahap inti, yakni penguatan siswa dalam pembuatan karya kreatif, pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam penulisan sastra kreatif, serta pendampingan dalam publikasi karya. Peserta pelatihan sebanyak 40 siswa MTS Ulumiyah Tuban. Para siswa antusias melakukan pelatihan penulisan sastra kreatif tersebut. Kata Kunci: pelatihan, sastra, kreatif

Abstract

The title of this article is "Semantic Elements / Meaning of the Words of the Public Debate of Candidate Pairs in the 2018 East Java Gubernatorial Election in conveying the East Java development program for the Next Five Years: A Study of Critical Discourse Analysis (AWK)." The issue raised is how the semantic element/meaning of the word public debate of the candidate pairs in the 2018 East Java Pilgub in conveying the East Java development program for the next five years: Critical Discourse Analysis (AWK). The objectives of this study are: to describe, interpret, and explain the semantic elements/meaning of words used by the candidate pairs in the 2018 gubernatorial election in conveying the East Java development program for the next five years. The theories used are public debate, campaign language, pilkada, and critical discourse analysis/awk: public debate, campaign, ideology, election, and critical discourse analysis/AWK. The research method used is the qualitative method. The results showed that the semantic elements/meaning of words (1) experience value: (a) ideologically fought words, (b) presented metaphors, (2) relational values: (a) euphemistic expressions, (b) choice of words formal, and (3) expressive value: (a) words that express positive evaluations, (b) words that express negative evaluations.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the mental condition of the character Anna in the novel Represi by Fakhrisina Amalia and reveal the solution chosen to overcome her depression. A literary psychology approach based on Sigmund Freud's psychoanalysis is used to reveal Anna's mental condition and her self-defense mechanisms when facing her life's problems. The stages carried out in this study are as follows: 1) reading the entire novel; 2) organize and classify data; 3) the data collected is divided into two to facilitate analysis, namely structural analysis and psychological analysis of the characters; 4) then carry out synthesis; 5) arrange data according to patterns; 6) describe the findings; and 7) finally draw conclusions. Analysis shows that Anna did not receive enough attention and affection from her father, there was childhood trauma, and Anna's uneven love journey in early adulthood contributed to her stress and depression. The solution she took was to undergo therapy with a psychologist to cure Anna's depression. AbstrakArtikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kondisi kejiwaan tokoh Anna dalam novel Represi karya Fakhrisina Amalia dan mengungkap solusi yang dipilih untuk mengatasi depresi. Pendekatan psikologi sastra berdasarkan psikoanalisis Sigmund Freud digunakan untuk mengungkap kondisi kejiwaan Anna dan mekanisme pertahanan diri ketika menghadapi permasalahan kehidupan. Tahapan yang dilakukan dalam kajian ini adalah 1) membaca keseluruhan novel; 2) mengorganisasikan dan mengklasifikasikan data; 3) data yang dikumpulkan dibagi menjadi dua untuk memudahkan penganalisisan, yaitu analisis secara struktural dan analisis kejiwaan tokoh; 4) melakukan sintesis; 5) menyusun data sesuai pola; 6) mendeskripsikan temuan; dan 7) terakhir membuat simpulan. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa Anna kurang mendapatkan perhatian dan kasih sayang dari ayahnya, ada trauma masa kecil, serta tidak mulusnya perjalanan cinta Anna pada awal masa dewasa berkontribusi terhadap stres dan depresinya. Solusi yang diambilnya adalah dengan menjalani terapi ke psikolog untuk menyembuhkan depresi yang dialami Anna.

Abstract

The viral phenomenon of the fufufafa account that has been discussed by the public has led to various interpretations in the digital space. This research aims to describe how the fufufafa account discourse in the Abraham Samad SPEAK UP talk show program on YouTube. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data sources in the form of videos from the Abraham Samad SPEAK UP YouTube channel that discuss the topic of the fufufafa account. Data was collected through observation and documentation techniques, then analyzed using the critical discourse analysis approach of Teun A. Van Dijks model, which includes three main dimensions of text analysis, social cognition, and social analysis. The results showed that in the text analysis dimension, the discourse is built through macro structure (theme), superstructure (schematic), and micro structure which includes syntactic, semantic, stylistic, and rhetorical elements. In the social cognition dimension, schemas such as person schema, self schema, role schema, and event schema are found that shape the speakers' perspective on issues. Meanwhile, in the social analysis, there are power relations and control over access to information that influence the framing of discourse. These findings show how digital media shapes the construction of meaning through language. AbstrakFenomena viralnya akun fufufafa yang ramai diperbincangkan publik telah menimbulkan beragam penafsiran di ruang digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan wacana akun fufufafa dalam program talkshow Abraham Samad SPEAK UP di YouTube. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan sumber data berupa video dari kanal YouTube Abraham Samad SPEAK UP yang membahas topik akun fufufafa. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik observasi dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis dengan pendekatan analisis wacana kritis model Teun A. Van Dijk, yang mencakup tiga dimensi utama analisis teks, kognisi sosial, dan analisis sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada dimensi analisis teks, wacana dibangun melalui struktur makro (tema), superstruktur (skematik), dan struktur mikro yang mencakup unsur sintaksis, semantik, stilistik, dan retoris. Kemudian pada dimensi kognisi sosial, ditemukan skema-skema seperti skema person, skema diri, skema peran, dan skema peristiwa yang membentuk cara pandang narasumber terhadap isu. Sementara itu, pada analisis sosial, terlihat adanya relasi kuasa dan kendali akses terhadap informasi yang turut memengaruhi pembingkaian wacana. Temuan ini memperlihatkan bagaimana media digital membentuk konstruksi makna melalui bahasa.

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to generate interest in learning among seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 13 Surabaya. Through the application of digital comic-based learning methods designed using Canva, this study aims to overcome students' low interest in learning which has an impact on their academic achievement. Using the Kemmis & McTaggart model of Classroom Action Research (PTK) approach, this study involved 30 students as research subjects. The main instrument used was a teacher assessment journal to observe the development of students' interest in learning descriptively. The results showed a significant increase in students' interest in learning after the application of digital comic-based learning methods. This can be seen from the increased enthusiasm, active participation, and interaction of students in the learning process. The findings underscore the potential of digital comics as an effective learning medium to increase students' learning motivation and contribute positively to their academic achievement. Hopefully, the results of this study can serve as a reference for teachers in designing more innovative and engaging learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the toponymy of villages in the coastal area of Lamongan Regency. The researcher used the oral speech of Solokuro kentrung art as data to explore toponyms. In this study, the forms of linguistic units and categories of toponymy meaning of villages in the coastal area of Lamongan Regency will be identified. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a linguistic anthropological approach. The data in this study are the utterances of the mastermind behind the kentrung Solokuro, namely Mr. Ahmad Kusairi. The source of the data comes from a video of the Kentrung Solokuro art performance which was uploaded on the YouTube site entitled “Stories of Pesisir Lamongan 1”. The spoken data in the video is transcribed into written data and presented in the form of words based on the results of the researcher's interpretation of the observed behavior. Based on the results of the study, the names of the villages in the coastal area of Lamongan Regency are dominantly using polymorphemic words and based on their meanings are dominantly using aspects of cultural toponymy in the form of folklore. Efforts to document kentrung art need to be made to capture cultural and linguistic landscapes that future generations can benefit from. The results of this study are expected to provide an overview of the artistic values of Kentrung Solokuro from a linguistic point of view. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan toponimi desa-desa di wilayah pesisir Kabupaten Lamongan. Peneliti memanfaatkan tuturan lisan kesenian kentrung Solokuro sebagai data guna menelusuri toponim. Dalam penelitian ini, akan diidentifikasi bentuk satuan kebahasaan dan kategori makna toponimi desa-desa di wilayah pesisir Kabupaten Lamongan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan antropologi linguistik. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah tuturan dalang kentrung Solokuro yaitu bapak Ahmad Kusairi. Sumber data berasal dari video pertunjukan kesenian Kentrung Solokuro yang diunggah di situs youtube berjudul “Cerita Pesisir Lamongan 1”. Data lisan pada video tersebut ditranskripsi ke data tulis dan disajikan dalam bentuk kata-kata berdasarkan hasil interpretasi peneliti terhadap perilaku yang diamati. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, nama desa-desa di wilayah pesisir Kabupaten Lamongan dominan menggunakan kata polimorfemis dan berdasarkan maknanya dominan menggunakan aspek toponimi kebudayaan berupa folklor. Upaya pendokumentasian kesenian kentrung perlu diupayakan untuk memotret lanskap kebudayaan dan kebahasaan yang dapat dimanfaatkan generasi mendatang. Hasil kajian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran mengenai nilai-nilai kesenian Kentrung Solokuro dari sudut pandang linguistik.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze syntactic patterns in Javanese praises (puji-pujian) through the lens of language typology. Puji-pujian is a form of Islamic oral tradition typically recited between the adhan and iqamah in mosques, predominantly in Java. The data were collected from five Javanese praises recited at mosques in the Langensari-Banjar area using listening and note-taking techniques (simak catat). The study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a structural-linguistic approach, and data analysis was conducted using the distributional method (metode agih). The theoretical framework draws on Greenberg's (1963) and Comrie's (1989) typological theory, focusing on the constituent order of Subject (S), Verb/Predicate (V), and Object (O). The findings reveal that although the basic typological pattern of Javanese is SVO, the puji-pujian corpus demonstrates significant variation, including SV, VO, VSO, VOS, VOK, and nominal predicate patterns (SPel). This variation is primarily driven by aesthetic demands—including meter and rhyme—and the pragmatic function of emphasis in sacred discourse. The results indicate that poetic and religious registers systematically trigger syntactic inversion in Javanese oral tradition. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pola sintaksis pada puji-pujian bahasa Jawa melalui kajian tipologi bahasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan linguistik struktural. Data dikumpulkan dari lima puji-pujian berbahasa Jawa yang dikumandangkan di masjid-masjid wilayah Langensari-Banjar menggunakan teknik simak dan catat. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan metode agih (distribusional). Kerangka teori mengacu pada teori tipologi Greenberg (1963) dan Comrie (1989) yang berfokus pada urutan konstituen Subjek (S), Verba/Predikat (V), dan Objek (O). Temuan menunjukkan bahwa meskipun pola tipologi dasar bahasa Jawa adalah SVO, korpus puji-pujian memperlihatkan variasi yang signifikan, meliputi pola SV, VO, VSO, VOS, VOK, dan predikat nominal (SPel). Variasi ini terutama didorong oleh tuntutan estetika—termasuk metrum dan rima serta fungsi pragmatis penekanan dalam wacana sakral. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa register puitis dan religius secara sistematis memicu inversi sintaksis dalam tradisi lisan Jawa.
