Abstract

To be able to be the last stronghold in preventing and overcoming drug abuse, all local institutions need to be empowered. Through the empowerment of local institutions, it is expected to be able to identify the signs of children involved in drug abuse so that it can be easier to prevent and overcome them. Community service is carried out using the Lecture method and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The targets and targets of this activity are the board of the Community Empowerment Institution (LPM) of the Nagari Indigenous Density (KAN), Bundo Kanduang, Youth Organizations, Nagari Apparatus, Nagari Deliberation Board. The activity was carried out in Nagari Mandeh, District XI Koto Tarusan, Pesisir Selatan Regency on September 1, 2019. The results of the activity could increase the knowledge of the management of local institutions in identifying drug addicts and awareness of the importance of administrators of local institutions to help prevent drug abuse in Nagari Mandeh.

Abstract

A correct understanding of sexual orientation can prevent community members exposure to male sexual behavior with men (Gay) and transmission of HIV/AIDS. Dedication aims to build awareness and commitment of village officials, community leaders and village cadres to take responsibility in preventing the transmission of HIV/AIDS through sexual relations between men and men (Gay). Community service activities were carried out in Nagari Batu Gadang Kuranji Hilir, Sungai Geringging District, Padang Pariaman Regency on 30-31 October 2019. The method of empowering village apparatus, community leaders, and village cadres with counseling and focus group discussions. The results of the activity showed that participants' understanding of the dangers of MSM sex and HIV/AIDS transmission increased and the growth of a shared commitment to prevent transmission of HIV/AIDS through MSM sex.

Abstract

Dalam masyarakat Minangkabau yang berdasarkan adat bersendi syara’, syara’ bersendikan kitabullah, LBGT merupakan perilaku menyimpang. Perilaku menyimpang adalah tindakan yang melanggar aturan-aturan atau pranata sosial yang berlaku dalam sistem sosial (Soetomo, 2006). Banyak faktor yang menjadi penyebab seseorang menjadi penyuka sesama jenis. Berdasarkan hasil identifikasi sebanyak 14 persen penyuka sesama jenis disebabkan karena pernah disakiti dan dikecewakan lawan jenis, dan 13,8 persen berada di lingkungan komunitas LGBT, 12,9 persen dirayu oleh pelaku LGBT, 8,2 persen pernah disodomi waktu kecil dan ada 5,5 persen dididik tidak sesuai dengan gender, misalnya memberi boneka pada laki-laki. Perilaku LGBT telah menimbulkan berbagai dampak yang merugikan masyarakat. Kepala Bidang Pemenuhan Hak Anak dari Lembaga Perlindungan Anak Indonesia (LPAI), Reza Indra Giri menilai, bahwa lesbian, gay, biseksual, dan transgender (LGBT) merupakan ancaman bagi kehidupan bangsa Indonesia yang religius. Kehidupan beragama, ketahanan keluarga dan kepribadian bangsa. Dalam konteks sistem hukum, LGBT menjadi ancaman besar terhadap sistem hukum perkawinan di Indonesia serta mengancam generasi penerus bangsa. Secara individu, perilaku LGBT dapat menjadi media penularan HIV/AIDS. Spesialis kulit dan kelamin dokter Dewi Inong Irana mengemukakan, kelompok Lelaki Seks dengan Lelaki (LSL) atau yang dikenal sebagai gay, 60 kali lipat lebih gampang tertular HIV/AIDS. Meningkatnya jumlah pelaku LGBT dan gambaran hasil penelitian mengisyaratkan bahwa keluarga dan tokoh masyarakat perlu lebih diberdayakan dalam mencegah warga masyarakat berafiliasi terhadap gerakan sosial LGBT. Permasalahan mitra yang perlu dipecahkan adalah bagaimana memberdayakan keluarga dan tokoh masyarat untuk mencegah agar masyarakat tidak berafiliasi dengan gerakan sosial LGBT.

Abstract

In order to be able to play a role in preventing and overcoming drug abuse, all community leaders and local social institutions need to be empowered. The purpose of this service activity was to understand the management of Community Representative Institutions, Kerapatan Adat Nagari, Bundo Kanduang, Youth Organizations, and Nagari officials in identifying signs of children entangled in drug abuse and empowering them to prevent and overcome drug abuse. The method used to carry out this activity was counselling and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). This activity involved the Nagari Duo Koto apparatus, Tanjung Raya District, Agam Regency. Service activities have been running smoothly, concluding that efforts to prevent drug abuse are very appropriate if done with an approach from local institutions, especially Nagari, to invite the younger generation to have awareness together to stay away from drugs. The team of community service recommended regularly holding outreach events about drugs' effects to attract all parties' attention. So that drug problems can be anticipated before a case occurs in the Nagari.

Abstract

Schools become one of the secondary socialization agents that children get. Unfortunately, schools are a place that is prone to sexual violence. Therefore, it is necessary to socialize the prevention of sexual violence in schools so that schools become safe spaces for children to continue their education. This activity is beneficial for schools to raise awareness of the importance of preventing sexual violence. Service activities were conducted using counselling and focused group discussions—the place of activity at State High School 15, Padang. Prevention of sexual violence in schools can be done by empowering students to become agents of change. State High School 15, Padang, has an anti-bullying ambassador who can also function as an anti-sexual violence ambassador at school. Cases of sexual violence must be prevented by involving various parties, ranging from schools, students, and families. Socialization activities on anti-sexual violence values ​​need to be carried out continuously among school students so that they become part of their behaviour. Anti-sexual violence values ​​that have been internalized will make students behave spontaneously to reject acts of sexual violence.

Abstract

The Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance Program (BSPS) is a government program aimed at improving access to decent housing for low-income communities (MBR). This study examines the participation of community members receiving assistance in the BSPS implementation in Gates Nan XX Village, Lubuk Begalung Subdistrict, Padang City. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data was collected through in-depth interviews and document analysis with purposive sampling. Max Weber's Social Action Theory was applied to analyze the forms of participation. Findings reveal that community members actively engaged in planning, implementation, and utilization phases through organizing aid recipient groups, contributing self-help resources, and selecting workers. This participation fosters a sense of responsibility and ownership among residents.

Abstract

The university has Tri Dharma, one of the pillars of which is community service. One of the Community Service activities is KKN, and the author conducted Thematic KKN in Tanjung Atap Village in Tanjung Batu District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra which focuses on community empowerment, students can explore local potential, educate the community, and design programs that are in accordance with the needs and characteristics of the village. KKNT activities are carried out using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method which generally has a cycle of (1) observation, (2) reflection, (3) action planning, (4) to program or action implementation. The results of this KKNT activity are the implementation of various types of activities that are in accordance with the needs of the community, such as Socialization in Elementary Schools, Socialization of UMKM Development, Socialization of Posyandu, and Development of Superior Village Products (Branding Tikar Purun).
