Abstract

The rise of media market in Indonesia has obvious impacts in the world of Indonesian media—especially television. There are more than 11 national commercial televisions, and hundreds of local television today—thanks for SK Menteri Penerangan Th. 111/1990 which allowing mass media business to be operated in Indonesia. But, years after such liberalizations, televisions has growing rapidly without real regulations. Complaints come from citizens concerning the low quality of TV programs, the tendency of mono-culturalization, and unhealthy market (and content) due to monopolistic ownership. These complaints marked the needs of broadcasting regulation. Based on the assumption frequency as public’s own, therefore, the use of frequencies must be dedicated to educate and serve public needs.

Abstract

Community radio networking (Jarik) III Cirebon is the affiliation of community radio in Cirebon, Kuningan, Majalengka and Indramayu regencies. Jarik III consists of 11 community radios. Besides broadcasting, Jarik is active in social action. They have been defending people especially in human trafficking and domestic violence cases. Based on voluntarism perspective, this article elaborates how those radios mitigate the society’s issue. This article was based on research through qualitative method using case study. The data was obtained through interview, observation, and documentation with three community radio FM administrators, namely Baina FM, Bhuana FM, and Caraka FM. The finding of the study shows that the background of the establishment, purpose and community radio operations are based on socio-demographic condition of their own community; society-based service becomes an administrator community radio’s spirit; and voluntarism underlying administrator performance of community radio helps overcoming people’s problem.

Abstract

Abstract. Seeing interesting photo uploads from celebrities, bloggers, influencers, family, and friends can cause someone to have low self-esteem, this phenomenon is called Instagramxiety. Self-love can maintain the user's mental health. Instagram @rahasiagadis is one of the accounts that provides information about mental health. Practicing self-love is the goal of the secret young women's community so that the @rahasiagadis Instagram content contains self-development information. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between information exposure on the @rahasiagadis Instagram account. The theories used in this research are Information Theory, Information Exposure Theory, Social Media Theory, Instagram Theory, Attitude Theory, Self-Love Theory, and Uses and Effect Theory. This study uses quantitative research methods, with a correlation approach. Data collection techniques used in this study were questionnaires, library sources, and observations. Statistical analysis technique using random sampling technique method. By taking a sample of 100 followers @rahasiagadis in this study. The results of this study are that there is a relationship between information exposure on the @rahasiagadis Instagram account and the attitude of followers. Abstrak. Melihat unggahan foto menarik dari selebritas, blogger, influencer, keluarga, dan teman dapat menyebabkan seseorang rendah diri, fenomena ini disebut dengan Instagramxiety. Self-love dapat menjaga kesehatan mental pengguna. Instagram @rahasiagadis menjadi salah satu akun yang memberikan informasi mengenai kesehatan mental. Mempraktekan self-love menjadi tujuan dari komunitas perempuan muda rahasia gadis sehingga koten Instagram @rahasiagadis berisi informasi pengembangan diri. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan terpaan informasi pada akun Instagram @rahasiagadis. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Teori Informasi, Teori Terpaan Informasi, Teori Media Sosial, Teori Instagram, Teori Sikap, Teori Self-Love, serta Teori Uses and Effect. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif, dengan pendekatan korelasi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kuesioner, sumber kepustakaan, dan observasi. Teknik analisis statistik menggunakan metode teknik sampling Random Sampling. Dengan pengambilan sampel dari 100 followers @rahasiagadis pada penelitian ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan antara terpaan informasi pada Akun Instagram @rahasiagadis dengan sikap followers.

Abstract

Abstact. This research is motivated by the continuity of event organizers in holding shows that cannot be done properly due to pandemic conditions and as a result they choose to be held in a virtual format. The new format, namely virtual, requires a different communication management because it is done with virtual communication media. This study will discuss the communication management carried out by the Jatiwangi Cup, namely bodybuilding and cultural arts performances carried out in a virtual format. The research method uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques that will be used are interview observations, and literature study. The results of the study were analyzed based on Koonts and O'Dannel's communication management theory which consisted of aspects of planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling. The results of the study found that the Virtual Jatiwangi Cup carried out the communication management process by using virtual communication from the planning of the show to the execution of the show. The most applied aspects are planning, controlling, and leading aspects because non-proft event shows and voluntary membership can make the Jatiwangi Cup Virtual held from 2019 – 2021. The communication management process takes place by utilizing virtual communication media such as WhatsApp and Zoom. encountered in the process, namely the adaptation of members from a technical, concentration, and psychological point of view. The selection of virtual and the use of new media in the implementation of the show makes Jatiwangi Cup experience show innovation and bring regional values ​​to the show that can be known more widely and can compete with other cultures through the internet. Abstrak. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi keberlangsungan event organizer dalam menyelenggarakan pertunjukkan tidak bisa dilakukan semestinya karena kondisi pandemic dan alhasil memilih untuk diselenggarakan dalam format virtual. Format baru yaitu virtual diperlukan manajamen komunikasi yang berbeda karena dilakukan dengan media komunikasi virtual. Penelitian ini akan membahas manajamen komunikasi yang dilakukan Jatiwangi Cup yakitu pertunjukkan binaraga dan seni budaya yang dilaksanakan dalam format virtual. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang akan digunakan yaitu pengamatan wawancara, dan studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian dianalisis berdasarkan teori manajamen komunikasi Koonts dan O’Dannel yang terdiri dari aspek planning, organizing, staffing, leading, dan controlling. Hasil penelitian didapati bahwa Jatiwangi Cup Virtual menjalankan proses manajemen komunikasi tersebut dengan menggunakan komunikasi virtual dari perecenanaan pertunjukkan sampai pelaksanaan pertunjukkan. Aspek yang paling diterapkan yakni aspek planning, controlling, dan leading karena pertunjukkan acara yang non-proft dan keanggotaannya secara sukarela bisa membuat menggelar Jatiwangi Cup Virtual dari tahun 2019 – 2021. Proses manajemen komunikasi berlangsung dengan memanfaatkan media komunikasi virtual seperti WhatsApp dan Zoom, kendala yang ditemui dalam prosesnya yaitu adaptasi anggota dari segi teknis, konsentrasi, dan psikologis. Pemilihan virtual dan penggunaan media baru dalam pelaksanaan pertunjukkan membuat Jatiwangi Cup mengalami inovasi pertunjukkan dan membawa nilai-nilai kedaerahan pertunjukkan bisa diketahui lebih luas dan bisa bersaing dengan budaya lainnya melalui internet.

Abstract

Abstract . Vacations and tours are now starting to become a primary need for the community. Various kinds of tourist attractions certainly give rise to a lot of competition in various fields, one of which is in the field of promotion which is carried out through various media, one of which is through social media Instagram. The creative team from various tourist attractions compete with each other for content to attract potential visitors to come to related tourist attractions. The purpose of this research is to find out how much influence @thegreatasiaafrica.id's Instagram content has on followers' visiting interest. The research conducted by the researcher is a research that uses a quantitative approach and uses a linear regression analysis research method. The results of this study concluded that there was an effect of @thegreatasiaafrica.id's Instagram content on followers' interest. Abstrak. Berlibur dan berwisata saat ini sudah mulai menjadi kebutuhan primer bagi masyarakat. Berbagai macam tempat wisata tentunya memunculkan banyak sekali memunculkan persaingan di berbagai bidang, salah satunya dalam bidang promosi yang dilakukan melalui berbagai macam media, salah satunya melalui media sosial Instagram. Tim kreatif dari berbagai macam tempat wisata ini saling mengadu konten untuk menarik minat calon pengunjungnya agar mau datang ke tempat wisata terkait. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh konten Instagram @thegreatasiaafrica.id terhadap minat berkunjung pengikutnya. Penelitian yang dilakukan peneliti merupakan penelitian yang menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif serta dengan menggunakan metode penelitian analisis regresi linear. Hasil dari penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh dari konten instagram @thegreatasiaafrica.id terhadap minat pengikutnya.

Abstract

Abstract. A customer service must quickly understand customer desires and are required to be able to communicate in clear and easy to understand language. Good, satisfying and maximum service provided by Customer Service greatly affects the satisfaction of the customer concerned. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between service quality and customer satisfaction of PT. Indosat Ooredoo in Bandung City. The method used in this research is a survey, this type of research includes correlational research. The population in this study is Indosat Ooredoo customers in Bandung. The sampling technique used was probability sampling with a simple random technique. The research sample was 400 respondents. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire/questionnaire, interviews and documentation. Data analysis technique using simple linear regression. The results showed that there was a relationship between the physical appearance of employees and customer satisfaction of PT. Indosat Oredoo in Bandung, there is a relationship between the ability to be empathetic employees with customer satisfaction PT. Indosat Oredoo in Bandung, there is a relationship between the ability to provide services with customer satisfaction PT. Seorang customer service harus cepat memahami keinginan pelanggan dan dituntut dapat berkomunikasi dengan bahasa yang jelas dan mudah dimengerti. Pelayanan yang baik, memuaskan dan maksimal yang diberikan oleh Customer Service sangat berpengaruh terhadap kepuasan pelanggan yang bersangkutan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kualitas pelayanan dengan kepuasan pelanggan PT. Indosat Ooredoo di Kota Bandung. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survei, jenis penelitian ini termasuk penelitian korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pelanggan Indosat Ooredoo di Kota Bandung. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan probability sampling dengan teknik simple random. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 385 responden. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan angket/kuesioner, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dengan menggunakan regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat hubungan antara penampilan fisik karyawan dengan kepuasan pelanggan PT. Indosat Oredoo di Kota Bandung, terdapat hubungan antara kemmapuan bersikap empati karyawan dengan kepuasan pelanggan PT. Indosat Oredoo di Kota Bandung, terdapat hubungan antara kemampuan memberikan pelayanan dengan kepuasan pelanggan PT. Indosat Oredoo di Kota Bandung, terdapat hubungan antara kemampuan karyawan merespon pelanggan dengan kepuasan pelanggan PT. Indosat Oredoo di Kota Bandung, terdapat hubungan antara kemampuan karyawan menumbuhkan kepercayaan dengan kepuasan pelanggan PT. Indosat Oredoo di Kota Bandung.

Abstract

Abstract. In general, every human being often communicates in his daily life, using various types, messages, and media. There are several types of communication, one of which is persuasive communication, which aims to adapt someone in order to increase people's motivation and encouragement to achieve a goal. Persuasive communication can be used not only when speaking, but also in any situation where a person has a goal and wants to urge others to help him achieve that goal, as the coach does with his team that has won every game. The purpose of this research is to know the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myth of the persuasive communication form of American Football coach in the movie "HomeTeam". The method used is qualitative with Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis approach. The results of this study are concluded as follows: 1. The meaning of denotation that often appears in this study is that there is a coach named Sean Payton who often gives or conveys an instruction to his players to increase the confidence of the Warrios Field Football team players to be motivated to be confident. during the match. 2. The connotative meaning that often appears in this study is that there are several scenes that have the connotative meaning of a coach named Sean Payton delivering a message by talking to his players such as giving instructions in the form of strategies, conveying a message containing motivation so that the players continue to work. confident and focused, and give an appreciation to the players. 3. The myth that often appears in this study is that there are several scenes of how important it is to encourage each other, always emphasize to the players to be disciplined, confident and focused when practicing or competing. Then the last one always gives messages or instructions in the form of tactics and motivation to the players. Abstrak. Pada umumnya setiap manusia sering berkomunikasi dalam kehidupan sehari-harinya, dengan menggunakan berbagai jenis, pesan, dan media. Ada beberapa jenis komunikasi, salah satunya adalah komunikasi persuasif, yang bertujuan untuk mengadaptasi seseorang agar dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan dorongan orang untuk mencapai suatu tujuan. Komunikasi persuasif dapat digunakan tidak hanya ketika berbicara, tetapi juga dalam situasi apa pun di mana seseorang memiliki tujuan dan ingin mendesak orang lain untuk membantunya mencapai tujuan itu, seperti yang dilakukan pelatih dengan timnya yang telah memenangkan setiap pertandingan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui makna denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos dari bentuk komunikasi persuasif pelatih American Football yang terdapat pada film “HomeTeam”. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis semiotika roland barthes. Hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan dengan berikut : 1. Makna denotasi yang sering muncul pada penelitian ini yaitu terdapat seorang pelatih yang bernama Sean Payton sering memberikan atau menyampaikan sebuah instruksi kepada para pemainnya untuk meningkatkan rasa percaya diri para pemain team Football Warrios Field agar termotivasi untuk percaya diri pada saat pertandingan berlangsung. 2. Makna konotasi yang sering muncul dalam penelitian ini yaitu terdapat beberapa adegan yang memiliki makna konotasi seorang pelatih yang bernama Sean Payton sedang menyampaikan sebuah pesan dengan cara berbicara kepada para pemainnya seperti memberikan instruksi berupa strategi, menyampaikan sebuah pesan yang berisikan motivasi agar para pemain terus yakin dan fokus, dan memberikan sebuah apresiasi kepada para pemainnya. 3. Mitos yang sering muncul dalam penelitian ini yaitu terdapat beberapa adegan betapa pentingnya menyemagati satu sama lain, selalu menekankan kepada pemainnya untuk disiplin, yakin dan fokus ketika saat berlatih maupun bertanding. Lalu yang terakhir selalu memberikan pesan atau instruksi berupa taktik maupun motivasi kepada para pemainnya.

Abstract

Abstract. Korean dramas started as drama series that were broadcast by several Korean television stations. The Korean drama series Happiness has its own charm from other similar Korean drama series, one of which is having a positive plot that makes the audience curious about what will happen next. In addition, the resolution of interpersonal conflicts in the drama Happiness is different from other Korean dramas where there is conflict. This study aims to find out how the conflict management of apartment/flat occupants in the Korean drama series Happiness is to survive during the quarantine period which is accompanied by difficulties accessing the internet and telephone. The paradigm used in this study is the constructivism paradigm, the research method used is observation. The data collection technique in this study was literature study, for the data analysis technique used in this study was content analysis technique. The research results obtained are that myth can be interpreted as a connotative meaning that is normally and naturally accepted so that it is hegemonic. The myth referred to in this study is that the drama series Happiness displays conflict scenes and how they are resolved. This film describes the condition when an area is hit by a deadly infectious virus outbreak. Abstrak. Drama Korea berawal dari seri drama yang ditampilkan oleh beberapa stasiun televisi Korea. Serial drama Korea Happiness memiliki daya tarik tersendiri dari serial drama Korea sejenis lainnya, salah satunya yaitu memiliki plot positif yang membuat penonton penasaran akan wacana apa yang akan terjadi selanjutnya. Selain itu, penyelesaian konflik interpersonal pada drama Happiness ini berbeda dengan drama Korea lainnya yang didalamnya terdapat konflik. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana manajemen konflik penghuni apartemen/rumah susun pada serial drama Korea Happiness untuk bertahan hidup selama masa karantina yang disertai kesulitan akses internet dan telepon. Paradigma yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu paradigma konstruktivisme, metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu observasi. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu studi kepustakaan, untuk teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu teknik analisis isi. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu mitos dapat diartikan sebagai makna konotatif yang diterima secara normal dan alamiah sehingga bersifat hegemonik. Mitos yang dimaksud dalam penelitian ini adalah bahwa drama serial Happiness menampilkan adegan-adegan konflik dan bagaimana mereka menyelesaikannya. Film ini menggambarkan kondisi ketika suatu wilayah dilanda wabah virus menular yang mematikan.

Abstract

Abstract. Becoming a Muslim student at Parahyangan Catholic University College and Maranatha Christian University will certainly be a challenge in itself. Cultural adaptation is something that needs to be considered and implemented properly for Muslim students in the two universities. The purpose of this research is to find out how the cultural adaptation of Muslim students at religious-based tertiary institutions is Parahyangan Catholic University and Maranatha Christian University. The results of this study indicate the goals or motives of Muslim students choosing to study at Parahyangan Catholic University and Maranatha Christian University due to the quality of education and campus accreditation. The results of this study indicate that students have their own way of adapting. The perspectives and prejudices of students towards the environment, supporting factors for adaptation and campus policies are factors in the success of cultural adaptation in this study. Students have their own way of implementing every guideline, values and policies made by the Higher Education. When faced with a new environment, every student must have experiences, supporting factors and obstacles to adapting to a communication culture when facing the process of cultural adaptation. Abstrak. Menjadi seorang mahasiswa muslim di Perguruan Tinggi Universitas Katolik Parahyangan dan Universitas Kristen Maranatha tentu akan menjadi tantangan tersendiri. Adaptasi budaya menjadi hal yang perlu diperhatikan dan diterapkan dengan baik bagi para mahasiswa muslim di kedua perguruan tinggi tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana adaptasi budaya pada mahasiswa muslim di perguruan tinggi berbasis keagamaan Universitas Katolik Parahyangan dan Universitas Kristen Maranatha. Hasil penelitian dari penelitian ini menunjukkan tujuan atau motif mahasiswa muslim memilih menempuh Pendidikan di Universitas Katolik Parahyangan dan Universitas Kristen Maranatha dikarenakan kualitas pendidikan dan akreditasi kampus. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memiliki cara masing-masing dalam beradaptasi. Sudut pandang dan prasangka mahasiswa terhadap lingkungan, faktor pendukung adaptasi serta kebijakan kampus menjadi faktor keberhasilan adaptasi budaya pada penelitian ini. Mahasiswa memiliki caranya masing-masing dalam menerapkan setiap pedoman, nilai-nilai dan kebijakan yang dibuat oleh Perguruan Tinggi.
